Also, UNT is a tier 4 university going through a regime change with a relatively small endowment compared to schools in the SEC. I will say this, with sound leadership(which is hard to come by around here at times)and patience, North Texas has tremendous potential. It just may take a generation for this potential to be realized.

If I recall correctly, I heard that will change for the 2009 season. If anyone could back that up, though, that would be great.

It's weird seeing that NT actually played six games in 1973 & 74. in Denton as opposed to five that I'm used to every year.

Plus, KZPS was not doing well in the Arbitron ratings. To give you an idea, they were being beat by WRR, the classical station owned by the city of Dallas. Good ratings = Advertiser $$$

Really? Last season in real life TCU beat an OU team who played for a National Championship the year before and the next week only got ranked somewhere in the lower twenties or upper teens (don't quite exactly remember where). If the mean green somehow pulled off a victory against the longhorns I'd be delighted if they were ranked in the top twenty five as I think most would believe UT just blew it. However, the mean green might get some respect, maybe, if they continue to win the rest of their games.
