i am so d.g.a.f. about all this anymore. I refused to be fleeced for n.i.l. anymore. fleeced for donations. fleeced for support for anything. no bleed green. no nothing.
use me for a year plus, only to go get the first big job that comes around. not gonna happen again. fool me once.....fool me twice.
good luck to the new coach, but i aint financing his success to the next job.
will my butt be in the front non cheering no emotion row? yes it will. as long as they will let me.
this current thing is not, i repeat not sustainable.

I just can't see a path for people to be doing this annually for every sport the next decade... and the AAC wants us to spend 10M? Jared better hire DOGE to come clean up.

I seem to recall in the not do distant past that they beat us in a certain tournament in Frisco, then we finished out season by beating them in a certain tournament in Las Vegas, which led to a few people getting some big ass rings that said "NIT Champion" on them.

on this topic Im hauling my trailer up there on feb. 1st and cooking before the game up on the concourse. That usually gets a good crowd out. the whole tailgate thing before the game. lets see how it works this year. not sure why there hasn't been any marketing started on this topic so here it is. Don't shoot the messenger

Here's how it went. We gained some big strides in terms of being competitive in the nil landscape of basketball. We still need help, the battle is not over, but we had a good day.

honestly, I have become somewhat immune to all of this. I just try to make the experience great for everyone i am involved with. Not going to quit.

I also notice that after the first 2 drives both teams had over 400 yards in offense. Meaning they didn't bother to clear the computer since the last game. Some of this stuff is so laughable. I asked someone yesterday in the a.d. "does anyone have a checklist of the 20 things they need to make sure work and run this thing on wednesday". The answer was a shrug. Sometimes we just can't get past ourselves.

NIL is a huge topic of conversation at my house, from the forming of light the tower, to the transition of light the tower to linkU, to the formation of Mean Green Collective, to now personal stuff we are doing to support.
NIL looks nothing like it did 3 years ago, and as I sit here right now it will look nothing like it does today a year from now. The way that it is and will be administered is so fluid that you never really know what the rules are. In the beginning the big schools just did whatever they wanted, and schools like us (donors and supporters) tried desperately to follow the rules. In the end the rules just shifted to what the big schools (cheating in the beginning) were doing.
Bottom line is this. We all need to participate in any way we can with NIL to stay competitive. With this revenue sharing thing that is on the senate floor as we speak coming in January, no one really knows what next year will bring.
I don't like these one year "contracts" with the players. It's just awful. Nobody wants to throw money at something knowing there is basically zero chance of that thing staying around. But that is what is in front of us right now. I have to think that at some point we will get back to a model of at least 2 seasons and maybe the sit out "redshirt" thing again if transfer. We will see.
As of now, I am supporting NIL any way I can. I will be putting a team in the tournament and I encourage some of you to do the same.

What do you mean forced? Also Reece finished his season yesterday. He's on the way. The whole airplane Microsoft thing mucked it up. He's coming from Venezuela

19 minutes ago, Dannymacfan said:How does this lineup compare to the one that almost won it all?
everyone is back except one player. Then we have added Tyree Eady, Shannon Shorter, and Deng.
Eady is meen green basketball through and through tough physical guard. Shorter is a very experienced pro and he looks to be in really, really good shape. dj, coach hodge, and jj all talk about deng's heart and is refusal to lose any individual battle.
So yeah, not only do we have one more year of experience but our roster is better and deeper.....
