  1. I like it, but it might be a little awkward if our new AD is competent enough to get Colorado into Apogee.
  2. Yeah, guys like Romo, Fitzpatrick, Warner and many others should all be ashamed of themselves for trashing out the NFL the way they have. I mean, they weren't wanted by any FBS teams, much less Holy Alabama, so they should all just curl up in a ball and cry for having success that they weren't entitled to. Shame shame shame.
  3. I'm not saying in any way that promises were made, but people do make promises sometimes. I'm sure that any promises can also be broken if it's not a close call.
  4. Just the fact that he's just now arriving makes that a truism. Unless of course he's a young Joe Montana in disguise. The calendar is clicking pretty quickly toward 2 a days.
  5. I think King Texas will run if they do expand. The only advantage to Texas of having Houston in their conference would be a game there every couple of years for their fans, and the flip side is that Houston would probably steal a few local recruits from them yearly due to membership. The other schools better think long and hard about that before voting YES.
  6. If he really is 6 feet I very much doubt that we would even be talking about his height.
  7. Designate the upper rows as Academy of Math and Science seats and call it "The Geek's Peak" (or Beak). Or you could always make it Greek seating and go with "The Greeks Peak" (or Beak). Then again you could donate it to the campus "Hippies" and call it the "The Freaks Peak". Give away an all expenses paid bus trip to Colorado in the 4th quarter of every home game.
  8. Drew Brees has been one of the most durable QB's in the NFL, so we could go on and on with comparisons. Riley tended to scramble more than was healthy for him. It's going to vary, but taller and less slippery guys often make good targets.
  9. But with height well over 6 feet you are often not as good at avoiding those blows. Generalizing of course.
  10. Somebody other than us will decide if Means is better than Ohara, and apparently you are saying that he is.
  11. That deck actually used to work pretty well back before Austin became a metropolitan traffic nightmare. I do my best to avoid driving through there during peak hours these days unless it's my destination and no other option is available.
  12. Deck everything. Including I-35 so people won't have traffic excuses to avoid games.
  13. I guess we will see a lot of Wilson/Ivery if the next guy sucks too. Personally, I saw some good signs from the spring practice game, so I'm not even close to giving up on the QB position. Ohara is just gravy at this point. We shall see.
  14. You would think that Vito would be pro-Shanbour, since Shanbour once had an illustrious P5 offer, and Vito isn't exactly much of a physical giant himself. I guess birds of a feather don't always stick together.
  15. And will this cost us the equivalent of baseball program startup costs?
  16. Not that I put much credence in their rankings, but US News & World Report has Kansas at 151 and Duke at 8, with Kansas having a 91% plus acceptance rate. The only reason I'm mentioning it is because I've seen Kansas academics mentioned positively in a couple of places recently, and I'm kind of wondering where all of that is coming from. I've always just thought of them as a`pretty good corn state flagship school. No argument about basketball of course.
  17. Under today's rules, calling someone born in America "a Mexican" can very much be construed as being racist. Of course "Mexican" isn't a race anymore than being "Irish" is a race. It's very much a nationality. Most national leaders and such in Mexico are very much descendants of White Europeans anyway. If I were a Trump supporter I would be pissed at him for basically trying to lose the race with his fat mouth. I personally dislike all of the candidates at this point.
  18. Except for the Hispanic judge who was born in Indiana. I swear that Trump has the weakest brain to mouth filter that I've ever seen. If he had any filter at all, I think he would win this election by at least a small landslide. His advisers must be going crazy trying to deal with him.
  19. I'm pretty sure we didn't pay him 450k, and if Pitt did for that position they must be crazy. I guess a Westlake raise up to 450k would be crazy too, but he did take them to an overtime loss in the state championship game.
  20. So what QB has truly proven that he should be our starter? A guy who threw a pass at Alabama? Believe me, I'm not a Shanbour "obsessionist" in any way, but I'm thinking that absolutely no one on this roster has proven that they should automatically be considered an FBS starter. For the most part, it kind of looks like we're going on high school film and accolades at this point. At least for those of us on the outside who are looking at it from the armchair perspective.
  21. Yeah, but that "walkon" label can be a fine line, since Shanbour had a Colorado offer before their coach left, and O'Hara very well could have ended up an FBS walkon himself had we not picked him up. I'm pretty much a Morris guy as starter at this point, but I still feel like Shanbour has shown enough to deserve some respect. Regardless, I'm glad we picked up O'Hara.
  22. On a side note, if you can believe Wiki, I was shocked to see that TD is making 450k at Westlake. If true, he's better off coaching in the high school ranks in more ways than one.
  23. Nice pickup in case of injury and such. Anyone know how many ships we've got left in case of Baylor? We must be nearing our limit. "The Mean Green have Alabama transfer Alec Morris ready to go this fall, but don’t have much behind him at all. UNT could play Morris this fall, have O’Hara as an insurance policy and then move him into the starting lineup in 2017." Not much Shanbour love there at all. The tallness factor strikes again.
