  1. I'm curious as to a couple of additional numbers: Time of Possession (for our offense) and/or number of drives (for the opposing offense).
  2. Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I just saw it announced on Twitter. Looks like a good promotion.
  3. It was great having him play for us this year. I hope he enjoyed it. Really great to see him end his career with a game winning FG.
  4. Wasn't sure that it wasn't fake, but... https://davidsonwildcats.com/sports/football/roster/barclay-briggs/9574
  5. Interesting that you mention that. I nearly posted this pic a while back to ask if someone knew what happened, i.e. a blown coverage, a limitation of the 3-3, or just a good execution by the O. I assume it's the same play you are referring to. When I saw this play happen in real time, I was like, they could run this play and get 5 yds every time with a possibility of breaking for longer since it's a 1-on-1 open field tackle (assuming the left side receiver is able to make a decent block). Sorry, that I didn't get any other info regarding the pre-snap setup, but I don't think any other players were to the left, so likely three receivers to the right (if my counting is accurate).
  6. I assume "registering" is supposed to be "red shirting". Like others, I'm afraid the portal turns us into a farm team for P5 schools. So, unless a player has made it clear that they want to stay here for their entire time, then there's not much point in saving a year of PT for the player to use at another school.
  7. It seems like we got lucky that the coach didn't continue running the ball more. I suspect the pre-game interview with him went something like this: Host: "Hey, coach, you're going with the first start for a new, young QB against the worst rushing team in the nation. What do you plan to do?" Coach: "We're gonna' throw a lot of deep passes."
  8. You wouldn't believe it was from a Maryland track practice?!? I'm not really into the whole AI thing, but have played with the image creation a couple of times. This was generated using Gencraft https://gencraft.com/generate
  9. Is this on a phone or PC? I don't see it on my PC browser (Firefox).
  10. Yeah, announcers were caught up looking at the feet and I'm wondering what about the push.
  11. I was going to post this in another thread but this seems like it might be more appropriate here since this thread is already providing suggestions. There's already a couple of suggestions that fall into category 1a. This would be the best choice and hopefully we can find enough money to attract someone in this group. From which source do you think we should/could hire the next DC? (I may have missed some sources, so add any category that I may have missed.) Also, specifically, which coach(es) from the chosen category do you think would be available? What reasons would they have for being interested in the job at UNT? 1a) An active DC from a successful G5 or a P5 program 1b) A DC from a P5 program that has been fired (fired lately or last season) 1c) A DC from a "good" G5 program that has been fired (fired lately or last season) 1d) An active DC from an "equal" G5 or good FCS program 1e) An active DC from any other G5/P5/FCS program 2) A DC that is currently retired 3a) Someone that has not been a DC but was a good Assistant from a "better" G5 or P5 program 3b) Someone that has not been a DC but was a good Assistant from an "equal" G5 4) Someone from other sources (HS HC, lower levels, etc., pros, Rigel 7???) Option 1a: I'm not sure how we could get one w/o a serious money offer. Options 1b,1c: Do we want a fired DC? Options 1d,1e: Is this where we have to look??? Option 2: Are there any retired DCs that might be interested in working again? Options 3,4: From most opinions on GMG, I think these are out
  12. There was one really obvious play late in the game when they were running (maybe an out pass) to the left side and after a bit of a gain, he cut back to the middle. Someone in the middle was simply standing there and made a quick reaction as the play began coming back toward him. Sometimes things aren't what they seem, but it sure looked like he had given up on the play since it was further away and had to react when it started coming back his way instead of pursuing all along.
  13. Yeah, this was a huge issue. EM did say in his post-game that they supposedly had a scheme for blocking (via cut blocks) on the plays that had the blocked passes. He said that on one of these, it was a total whiff (by the guard??) that caused the issue. He said the other was a "freak" block by the noseguard who was not expected to be in a location to block it and it's something he didn't think he'd ever seen.
