I can say for certain the NT @ Tulane game on 10/5 and NT @ Southern Miss 10/26 are on TV. Fox Sports. They better be or I'm sitting in a production truck for no good reason.

(Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Norah Jones, but she was at NT for like a year right? and I'd bet the pic is not from Denton) This is not a "About Denton" photo gallery. It's a "About the Metroplex" photo gallery. Finally, I cannot find a reference to Johnny Jones ANYWHERE! I like the idea of the site. It's slick in quite a few ways. But, come on!

I believe the phrase, "coach 'em up" applies here. Run whatever system you want, teach your players how to run your system. OU won a national championship with Leach as the OC running a wide open offense. I believe it was Stoop's 2nd year. So he was using player's from a different staff (mostly). To make this NT related, I firmly believe our coaching staff is doing just that, "coaching 'em up".

Rivalry trophy I'd like to see. UNT v MTSU. Davy Crockett bowl. Coon skin cap. Davy Crockett identifies as a Tennessean, but is most noted for the battle of the Alamo, and the phrase, "You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas." I know the schools who's colors are orange might take offense, but they are not conference mates. If we continue the conference alignment with MTSU, then I think this "trophy" fits pretty well. Granted, Davy Crockett may have never been to Dallas, and this trophy might better be served by UTSA (home of the Alamo), but we already have a little history with that school. My two cents.

Hey Plumm, You're stretching the DFW tv market a bit. Norman, Waco, and Longview are all different tv markets. Longview's cable system used to include DFW, but I don't think anymore. The broadcast signal doesn't quite hit Tyler. Now if the show were on FOX SPORTS SW, different story. Grew up in Longview, work in TV.

Overuse of the exclamation mark. It's just a valid point. And it is quite valid. I've watched a number of games at a bar just b/c it was on the screen. I'd definitely watch SMU just to root against them, before I head to Apogee. If that gets people to watch The Mean Green, it builds a rivalry. On second thought Harry, good use of the exclamation mark.

Can Derrick Thompson exercise his demons of the past? I'm not sure his demons are out of shape. Perhaps he should exorcise them instead so they stay gone.

Scott Hall. Harry, I still remember reading reports off this website about Hall being the darling of practice. It got me pumped about the season. I miss those reports. Maybe Rick is right. Oh hell, I just derailed the thread with open practice talk. And agreed with Rick on something. This is not the EagleD you remember.

Even better. Can we have rainbow green uniforms with helmet stickers showing every logo we've ever used. Every shade of green, every logo AND helmet stickers! We are North Texas! We are inconsistent!

We should have unis using every shade of green our colors have been over the years. Kind of like a rainbow of green. Striped, similar to the old Houston Astros unis. They'd be FABULOUS! (Wish there was a sarcasm font). Also, they'd prove once you try to please everyone, you please no one. On a serious tip, I think I'm the only person on this board who's not a fan of the SOW, AND likes the script. I do, however, think the interlocking NT is by far the best.

I'm not necessarily a softball fan, but do follow it per my job. The UNT team is starting to show signs of vast improvement. Of course, once they get any recognition, the coach will leave and the program will be in the shi*&ter again. Sorry for the negative waves.

While I didn't know him, he was a friend of some of my family. Not to derail the thread but he saw the danger in hiring Dodge. From all accounts he was a very good man.

Back to the original post...Not true. If you walk across the UT campus you see t shirts from other schools, even aTm. Obviously there is more UT gear, but other school's gear appears. It happens everywhere, well, maybe not college station. And I'd bet the higher the winning percentage of the athletic program, the higher count of that schools tshirt sales. I don't like it either, but it happens. It's worse at UNT b/c we don't have a winning tradition.

Thought I'd win the Jimmy Hoffa award as the poster who just dropped out of sight.
