  1. I think they are as scientific as they can be. Besides, it is interesting to see this information next to our peers to get an outside opinion. When they value professional teams there is no real way to value a franchise either despite a market for purchase. It all comes down to what someone is willing to pay. The Clippers were not valued anywhere near what was actually paid for them.
  2. As stated above, it was the 7:30-8 start time that would be an issue. Those start times would mean that the game isn't over until 10:30 at the earliest. 7 means a late bed time for my 6 year old, even on a Saturday, given that we have things going on Sunday mornings. I get that we want to avoid the heat, but the costs should be considered in planning the times.
  3. I understand your sentiment, but that pretty much tells a lot of families that you don't want them to come.
  4. I went to the game we played there during the Dodge years. It is a cool atmosphere. The pig suey cheer is kind of cool when the whole stadium does it.
  5. They had that one 1,000 point game that really brought up their average. Don't believe the hype.
  6. I believe we were technically eliminated from playoff contention in preseason 2014.
  7. I will say, I think that the main reason that I am against the NO bowl is that I think we are likely to not benefit much from it from a financial perspective. I think that our tickets sales will be much lower than they would be for a later game (date wise) closer to home. I know that I will not be able to attend due to other obligations (not that my schedule matters in these things), and I know that I am not alone. I think that the bowl being on the same day as graduation will be more than just a "blip" on the attendance radar. I remember back to the original NO bowl days of yore, and we were excited about the 15k (I believe) that we got to those games. The amount of travel will turn off the casual fans that showed up to the HOD bowls. I am confident that attendance will not be anywhere near those games. I am just not sure that it will be worth it from that perspective. Not to mention that we are going to be competing with other games that are on at the same time for TV viewers. I just don't see this bowl as a great builder for the program, but it may be a great trip for the team.
  8. CUSA traded the HoD for Armed Forces this year. There is no automatic tie in for HoD and CUSA this year.
  9. I like this thought. I would probably go a little larger than 6k, but not a whole lot. Maybe 7k, but only if the design keeps everyone close to the action. Maybe a design that allows for temp seating to get more folks in if needed. Hockey makes the floor space too big. I just don't see why we would plan for a hockey team when it is not even close to the radar. I think the plan to make it easily used for basketball and volleyball is the exact way we should go.
  10. I think you should consider it more of a general use coliseum with an option to become a basketball arena instead of the other way around. The BB floor is put away more often that it is used.
  11. I have to sleep sometimes. I have a young child, so that start time doesn't do a lot for me. We also don't get a lot of coverage locally, so I am not a fan of making that worse by not making the 10pm news for away games, and we won't make Sunday either since that is Cowboys coverage. Sorry, but the West coast leagues don't get the same coverage or respect. I just don't think that increasing costs for a small prestige bump helps us. What good is the small amount prestige if no one ever sees us play?
  12. Depends on what you mean by watching. In person, yeah that would be great for them to come here. If you mean when we play at their place, not sure how much I will be able to watch with a 9pm start time.
  13. Yeah, I like to actually see (or at least listen) when my team plays a road game instead of reading about it the morning after. I am a terrible fan.
  14. They did beat LSU in BR, so votes are easier to come by for them.
  15. Just an FYI, those teams all have black as a primary color (besides Georgia).
  16. We bought the metal ones that they sell in the stadium and are very happy. I can use them anywhere and they were cheaper than the 1 year stadium seat backs and have padding.
  17. You have me interested... But now I am just confused...
  18. Personally, I do not worry as much about assistants right now. If there is one thing that SL has proven in his time here, it's that he can find good coaching talent and replace it with more coaching talent as needed. He did an excellent job replacing coaches in the off season, I think he can do it again. All that said, I do like our staff and hope they don't go, but a successful season almost guarantees that we will lose more assistants. I just hope they don't end up in EP.
