  1. I'm starting a go fund me account to fly a banner over the restaurant during the grand opening - who's with me?
  2. Name one player on our roster who could transfer to any P5 school and immediately start. Why would anyone who has "admirable stats" from a P5 school transfer to UNT or any other CUSA school? I'll answer it for you - he wouldn't. Unless there are family medical reasons, behavior/disciplinary issues or, as appears to be the case here, playing time issues, P5 players aren't looking to transfer to non-P5 schools. And your comment is asinine...he's not "any Denton high school player" - he’s a 6’5,” 210-pound, former 3-star recruit (Scout's 2013 #82 nationally-ranked WR) that held offers from ASU, Arizona, Baylor, Colorado, Michigan State, Mississippi State, UNT, Tulsa and Vandy. That’s more P5 offers than our entire 2017 class had, combined. But let’s just continue to pound our chest and thumb our noses at him because he only had two catches last season at ASU. We’re North Texas, we’re too good to accept transfers that don’t have stellar P5 college stats. Gawd, you guys remind why I stopped coming to this forum. For anyone that’s actually interested in more than Ellis Jefferson stat lines, here’s a nice article about him: ASU's Ellis Jefferson determined to break out of shadows
  3. I don't get all the negativity and debating on whether we should accept him. The kid should be applauded for earning his degree and staying out of trouble. I, for one, would welcome him to UNT, even if it means giving up a scholarship. So he hasn't had a great college career thus far? Guess what? Neither has any of our current class of HS recruits. And, without being too negative myself, this was one of the least impressive recruiting classes I've seen. If he comes to play at UNT and has a big season, that's great. If he comes to play at UNT and stands on the sideline, that's still great. Why? We let a hometown kid come home to UNT and finish out his college football career. And we can use all the UNT ambassadors we can get, in respect to Denton ISD, and other area school districts.
  4. Sorry, I'll have to take everyone's word for it because that doesn't look or sound like anything evenly remotely appetizing to me.
  5. I was watching some of his highlights yesterday and he does have some ankle-breaking moves. I just hope his size doesn't hamper him. If not, he could be the next Darren Sproles.
  6. Maybe we can go ahead and schedule Michigan in 2036 and Notre Dame in 2054?
  7. He has a lot of potential. Here's what I saw in his highlights: Pros Throws well on the run Decent play-action fakes Can hit a wide-open receiver (something our QBs struggled with this season) Good pocket presence and not afraid to move up in the pocket or scramble when it breaks down Handles bad snaps well Cons Arm strength is a concern Appears to lock in one receiver/telegraphs passes Commits to the run too early/doesn't keep his eyes downfield 4.71 40-yard speed? I want to test that stop watch I can't argue with his stats. Regardless of the level, 5,500+ yards passing and 77 TDs are impressive. While he only threw 8 INTs all season, 3 of those were in his final game. Also impressive is that Levelland had 3 receivers with 1,000+ yards (one with 900+) and 2 RBs with 1,000+ yards. That tells me they spread the ball around a lot. It also tells me they had a questionable defense as evidenced by these scores: Still, I think he's worthy of a PWO.
  8. Momentum for Colorado Buffaloes’ recruiting success started before wins piled up I'm sure Mary Jane plays no factor in the CU recruiting process. 5 College Football Players Who Would Have Chosen Colorado With New Weed Laws
  9. I guess the local kids were relatively unimpressed with our 2016 season and/or coaching staff? I know the DFW Area Top 100 isn't the best list of recruits but, damn, I sure expected to see more than one commitment and one additional recruit listing a UNT offer. We're getting out-recruited by Texas State (4 commitments), right in our own backyard. SportsDay’s Top 100 for the Class of 2017
  10. Does anyone know if this is related to academics or if he'd lost academic eligibility? If so, this will count against us in the APR next year.
  11. With a hefty raise (I believe he was making roughly $1 million at Western Kentucky, including incentives):
  12. Armour: Count the ways college bowl system is broken In your face, purists! 5-7 bowl teams get last laugh, go 3-0
  13. B. I grade everything tough, so a B from me means I am pretty happy. The only way I could give an A+ would be if we were 5-1.
  14. While we're at it, why not the Star in Frisco? At a capacity of 18K, we shouldn't have a problem selling it out. *Disclaimer - before anyone rails on me, although I live in Frisco, this post should not be taken seriously.
  15. Not opposed to this, but I thought we had access to the Star in Frisco through the Cowboys sponsorship?
  16. Can't leave you hanging...TEXAS!!, Marshall is now 1-12 in games played in Texas.
  17. I remember that one too. That was the definition of an un-catchable pass.
  18. Can't remember if it was the 2nd or 3rd quarter, but there was one drive where we got called for PI on MTSU followed by a very blatant (IMO) offensive PI that went uncalled. Agreed, several of the penalties were highly questionable, but it's all part of the game because that's the way football go.
  19. I read somewhere today that they are 1-11 all time in games played in Texas. I hope it's 1-12 after Saturday.
