  1. LOL, enjoy it while it lasts. TCU will still win this game by 3+ TDs.
  2. Yes, apparently, giving up 46 points is his idea of playing good defense. They did finally mention the lowly Conference USA team that put the smack down on SMU though. North.....
  3. Mean Green defense > TCU defense UNT getting no love from these announcers. They’ve mentioned the SMU loss a couple of times now, but only that they lost to a “Conference USA tram.”
  4. Not sure if it's #1 yet, but definitely getting close. As a parent of two softball players, I may be a tad biased (or at least overly exposed), but it does certainly seem like the popularity has been growing over the last several years. Between the ESPN networks (including LHN and SEC) the TV coverage is not lacking. During the regular season, it wasn’t hard to find multiple live broadcasts of top 25 teams. We played in a 12U tournament in OKC the weekend of the WCWS tournament. Tournament entry was supposed to include a block of WCWS tickets for teams to purchase, but was already sold out. So, we had to fork out $100+ per seat to sit in the outfield. It was hot but it was a fun environment and I didn’t have the slightest hint of buyer’s remorse.
  5. Looking for tickets to next Wednesday's game against OU. Just tried to buy tickets and the game is sold out. I'll pay double face-value. If anyone has 4 tickets to sell, please PM me. Thanks,
  6. No doubt, but I also understand that he's not the same player he was when Bean was being scouted.
  7. I only saw Bean play in one game, the quarterfinal against Highland Park. While I was impressed with Bean, I was equally impressed with the 6'2"/6'3" WR, Malik Knowles. He needs to put on some weight (as does Bean), but he has good ups and was constantly creating separation to catch the ball. He finished the game with 5 catches for 118 yards and 2 TDs. I thought he was a junior, but he's a '18 grad. Here are some highlights from the HP game, Malik is #18. 24/7 shows he has offers from Illinois and ULM I wonder if the staff is interested and, if so, why he hasn't been offered?
  8. They have plenty of Mean Green gear in stock at the Dick’s in Stone Briar.
  9. This is also true, unfortunately. Most all of the G5 schools got bad matchups.
  10. This is exactly the point I was trying to make in another thread. Except, I'll take it one step further and say Troy deserved to play a better, or at least better perception-wise, opponent too. The bowls should have more P5 vs G5 matchups. Look at Boise State crushing Oregon in the Las Vegas Bowl.
  11. I think we could all agree with DD that the SMU fans are all a bunch of MFers!
  12. What's more impressive to a local recruit, a win over UCLA or a win over Troy?
  13. I don't have the time to read through the 5 pages of responses (maybe later), but I would like to explain my feelings about this bowl, since I shared my disappointment in another thread. 1. Playing in the Super Dome is fantastic - no issue with the bowl or the city. Unfortunately, I'll have to watch it on TV as I have kids activities that interfere with my ability to travel to the see game in person. (Selfishly, I'd have preferred the Frisco Bowl to the NO Bowl, even though I view it as a less attractive bowl). 2. I have no issues with Troy and congratulate them on a great season. However, I very much dislike the match-up of Troy vs. UNT. It has zero national prominence and I feel both schools deserved the chance to "prove" themselves against a P5 school. I think both schools will gain little to nothing, in terms of national recognition or recruiting, by winning this bowl. Being ranked 32nd "most entertaining" of 40 bowl games by ESPN (A viewer's guide to the most entertaining bowl games) seems to validate my opinion. That said, all CUSA teams except USM got pretty crappy match-ups, in my opinion. But, I'd much rather watch a game in New Orleans than Shreveport. There are too many P5 schools with 6-6 or 7-5 records playing each other, rather than playing against non-P5 schools with better records.
  14. Yawn and meh, consider me underwhelmed. I was hoping for a match-up with more nationally recognizable opponent, not a former Sunbelt rival.
  15. I've seen enough, taking the kids to Six Flags. Hopefully, FAU will put the backups in soon and we can at least make the final score more respectable for those that don't actually watch the game.
  16. While I agree with you, I don't think it would make a difference if we played this game in Apogee.
  17. Still a 3 score game! Keep letting us hang around and we'll start to believe in the Mean Green!
  18. Trying to stay positive , but this is humiliating. We're lucky we're not already down 35-0.
  19. The Watch ESPN feed always sucks for me. I guess it's better than no visual at all, but not by much.
  20. FWIW, both Sporting News and Sports Illustrated are projecting UNT to play Texas Tech in the HOD Bowl: https://www.si.com/college-football/2017/11/12/bowl-projections-schedule-matchups-selection-predictions http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football/news/college-football-bowl-predictions-week-12-miami-wisconsin-alabama-oklahoma/sgqtdncxfnwk1o8pqvsmgn5s5
  21. Curious to know what happens to those that show up without having RSVP'd?
  22. Save the date: All eyes on 2023 for conference realignment What's the off-season without a little conference realignment talk? 2023 gives us 5-6 seasons to win and position UNT as an asset, rather than a liability, when conference realignment discussions are in full swing.
