  1. No. Please no! Pretty please no!!
  2. Great post! Bower is a give up and the fact it was in the ESPN report makes me very worried.
  3. Why do they need to have Texas ties? Dodge had them more than anybody. What you need is a good salesman who is also a great coach.
  4. I'm glad this was brought up. The real issue here is not if this coaching staff could get it done, but the fact that it took 4 years to get to this. If we had started with this staff 4 years ago, we'd be a realistic conference contender by now. Because there are always holes on a college team, just so much turnover., that you can't afford to go three years figuring it out. We might be undefeated in conference without the injuries, but we lost the rice game with a mostly first team. Tune was hurt on the next to the last play of the game. It would have taken a miracle to win anyway. Plus there are still bonehead plays that you don't see coming from other coaching staffs, like waiting 15 seconds to call timeouts at the end of the game last week. Only the people on the inside can know why that happens. Rick backed himself into a corner with the wins thing. I get it that he was reaching out to the fans because the few hundred here were disgruntled, but it has backfired because the unthinkable has happened. He's down to a 4th QB. The real question is should Dodge stay when it took 4 years to get to square one? DO you punish for that learning curve. And second, do you think he really has turned the corner and that next year he would win. I'd say that's doubtful, because as improved as the team is especially on defense, there still aren't many play makers. Check how many turnovers we are causing or how many big plays we have. Not many. So then you say, well Dodge still isn't getting impact talent, so he probably can't get it done, because the potentail recruits have given up on it. And if they have, then that's too much too overcome.
  5. Thanks for the info. I've got a brother who lives in Highland Mills right by there who's going to the game with us, so maybe he can get one.
  6. So how does one buy said parking pass in advance?
  7. Lots of WR drops. This was surprising and a problem. Punt Return problems. The one that went over Hill's head pinned us at the 4. We never returned a punt and sometimes let them hit. Why? Secondary problems. I wondered why so many juco guys were signed in the secondary considering 3 of 4 starters returned. When Clemson got through the improved front 7 it was basically a touchdown.
  8. That's great. I'm sure there will be some type of get together as well.
  9. He mentioned a mail-out from what the music dept. has but also Facebook/word of mouth, email etc. I'm not sure if they will do an evite or what. Perhaps the NT Exes can help.
  10. This is in the early planning stages, but the Band is planning to invite all alumni of the band to perform along with the current members at the last game at Fouts Field Nov. 27. If you or anyone you know ever played in the NT marching band at Fouts, please plan on being a part of this. The band department will make some announcements soon since school just started, but I wanted to let the hard core mean green fans here know about so you can start spreading the word. I think we could also use a few horn, woodwind, and color guard people to help spread the word. I'm a drummer and I've already begun starting to let a lot of the drummers know about it. This should a a great time and exciting to have several hundred in the band for that last game!! Please send me a message with your email address if you want any more info as I find out about it. Thanks!
  11. I've read a lot of the comments but the best one I've heard was from my wife when I got home. It went like this. Me: So Nathan Tune is your QB. Her: OK Me: That not a big deal to you? Her: I want to know who my kicker is? Now that is a good question.
  12. I'm not surprised by this. Neither QB really distanced themselves in practice. But, Tune has experience and won't make as many big mistakes, which has been killing this offense ever since Dodge got here and has played young QB's. Second factor, the new offensive wrinkles. It's not necessary to have a running QB anymore, what with the new running plays and throwing down the field and across the middle. I suspect our offense will be more difficult to defend even without the running threat at QB.
  13. So now that the two blogs are squabbling over coverage scoops, I hope one is digging for new on NT in the realignment game.
  14. This is huge great news. And to those others in the area considering NT, please sign. You guys could become our Fab 5 and believe me the school will go nuts for you.
  15. Thanks Harry. What about the defense? We need some playmakers.
  16. Well, it was hard to take this serious when #5 was where will a backup receiver be used, but the rest were good points. Agreed that Special teams play should have been on the list My top 5. 1. Who will get pressure on the passer? 2. Can we stop the run? 3. Can we make a field goal instead of going for it when inside the 25? 4. Who will start at QB? 5. Will Canales make it so we get points to go with all of those yards between the 30's?
  17. Ok guys somewhere we got off count. I'm going to assume that when BleedGreen64 posted 4=46=50 he meant to add +4 to our count. So taking it from there and adding the rest of the pluses to that that people have posted so far, we are now at 56. So the next person that confirms on this thread, please add to 56 GoMeanGreen Beat Army
  18. I'd normally agree with you except for one thing - New Stadium. That opportunity comes around once in a lifetime, and you need to capitalize with either a 7 win coach who turned it around, or a new coach buzz.
  19. I don't understand that new math you did BleedGreen64. I've got 3 more so I'm going to skip you and add to the one before you. +3 =38
  20. Seems like we might have a good crowd traveling to the Army game, so maybe this thread could be a running count. Wok it like this You put how many your bringing then update the total. When the next person posts same thing so we get a running total. Let's say the count is 23 You would post +3 =26 and so on. I'll start +4 =4
  21. I find it funny how people think Dodge's hire will keep us from greener pastures. This is and always has been about money, and we don't have it. Even some schools who have it like SMU and Baylor don't have enough of it. Winning won't help TCU or Boise in this. The only way Dodge could have changed our fortunes in this and got us in with the big boys, would have been if he had somehow figured a way to make us draw the kind of revenue Texas or Oklahoma does for the conferences. Maybe if he had figured out a way to get the NCAA to allow us and only us to have nude strippers on the field during our games causing our games to become the highest rated TV show on TV , and subsequently allowing us to choose who could be in a conference with us.
  22. I'd have to disagree with that. Granted, this is only based on his game against us, but what I saw was a guy who was illusive and could run, could sometimes hit the short routes, then 1 out of about every 8 passes would throw the ball as far as he could and never come close. But that "threat" of the deep ball kept us honest enough for some reason to not be able to stop him.
  23. Thanks Huff. That seems like a long time to wait, since they are already on sale.
