  1. The lockers aren't bad they just need some TLC. I would use a darker finish on the wood and add some lighting as a start. They should give them some hangers for their outfits to make the area more tidy. Not sure if it is the framing of the picture but the work spaces seem a little small. Maybe tear down the walls between each locker to expand the living area for each?

  5. Always the question why did Kansas let him go if he was good? Same with Aune at Arkansas. Then again the guy from Alabama turned out to be pretty good for us.
  6. “I’ve been told by multiple sources that the AD’s have had conversations behind the conference’s back that would tell each other, ‘Listen, if we’re unable to play via a mayor’s ruling, a state governor’s ruling, You guys go ahead and look out for yourself.'”Joel Klatt said, via The Herd with Colin Cowherd. In recent weeks, the possibility of college football games being played in packed stadiums has come into doubt. California Governor Gavin Newsom recently suggested it was unlikely fans could attend games until late in the year. Furthermore, Los Angeles extended its stay-at-home restrictions through July. For schools like UCLA, USC and Stanford, safety protocols by state and local officials are now creating uncertainty for their ability to play college football in 2020. As a result, athletic directors are reportedly going behind Scott’s back and coming up with alternative solutions to help their conference allies.
  7. DENTON – The Mean Green specialists have performed very well the past four seasons and have a new man in charge, in special teams coordinator Mike Ekeler. We conclude our series of position group breakdowns with the specialists. "I can't wait to start on the field work with our specialists and our team. After watching winter workouts, I'm confident we have the makings of a great group of specialists. We've got an elite long snapper with Nate [Durham], capable kickers and punters. Special teams has had a great culture the past few years and we will build on that. I love the speed we have and the spirit of our team." Outgoing: A pair of Mean Green specialists have moved on, in all-conference honorable mention punter Alvin Kenworthy, who graduated, and kicker Mason Reid, who decided to leave the program following the season. Kenworthy averaged 42.0 yards per punt on 124 career attempts with a career-long of 73 in 30 career appearances at North Texas during his time in Denton. As a senior, Kenworthy was one of five team captains and averaged 43.7 yards per attempt on 50 punts. His consistency at the position will certainly be missed in this group. Reid did not appear in any games for the Mean Green after walking on ahead of the 2019 season. New Faces: There are no new faces with the program in the specialist group heading into 2020, aside from Ekeler, who spent the past two seasons at Kansas in the same role. This marks Ekeler's second stint in Denton under head coach Seth Littrell. Ekeler was the team's co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach in 2016, Littrell's first season in Denton. Returners: #47 Ethan Mooney – kicker – junior – Fort Worth, Texas (Timber Creek HS) Mooney won the kicking job and had a very strong sophomore season for the Mean Green, earning all-conference honorable mention plaudits from the 14 head coaches of Conference USA. Mooney went 16 for 20 on field goals during his first season as North Texas' placekicker, including a career long of 51 yards at Charlotte, while also converting 43-44 extra points to lead North Texas with 91 points scored. He was also the primary on kickoff, and averaged 52.0 yards per attempt on 41 kickoffs with 10 touchbacks. The Fort Worth native was named the Week 8 C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance in the win over Middle Tennessee, including a game-winning field goal. "Coach Ekeler is an awesome coach. He really cares about having a strong relationship with his players. I think we have some really hard-working guys. We all want to be the best at whatever we do, it's just the culture in that room." Read more: https://meangreensports.com/news/2020/4/29/football-position-group-breakdowns-specialists.aspx

  9. This will also impact Mo as he was hoping to be eligible to play for OU right away.
  10. You have the right to your opinion but I respectfully disagree. They actually have had a pretty representative group of speakers and have raised a lot of money for UNT. Allen Dershowitz voted for Hillary Clinton and is a lifelong democrat. Richard Fischer who was head of the Federal Reserve Bank ran as a democrat against Kay Bailey Hutchison and lost. General Keith Alexander was appointed by Obama to lead USCybercom. General Michael Hayden served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency in both the George W. Bush and Barack Obama administrations. General Hayden has been a fierce Trump critic. Admiral James Stadrivis was appointed by Obama to lead NATO forces. I think the point of the series is to look at the accomplishments of the speakers not the politics. It shows the world that UNT is no longer just a "Teachers College" and is a top notch academic institution.
  11. Where do you live? I live in Dallas, Texas; originally from Waxahachie, Tx What Year Did I Attend UNT: I did not attend UNT; rather I attended UTA; But my husband and I made the decision for him to be a full time student and get his Masters in Business at UNT. We were very active on campus with students and professors alike. We followed UNT Sports because although my husband played college ball for UTA, they dropped football which was a major disappointment to all the students expecially, the ex-lettermen.Can you just imagine what it was like? So we "followed" UNT Sports starting in 1963. A number of years later our son received his Marketing Degree from UNT. He fell in love with the school and has been very active in support as we were. Also, Many of my Zeta Tau Alpha Sisters reside on the UNT campus each year. My favorite UNT memory: A lot of my friends from Waxahachie graduated from UNT and I loved being invited to the games with them. It was such a happy place to be. The fans had such a great time at the games. It was real there. I think it still is. The fans support the team no matter what! And just look at what has been accomplished; truth be told. My favorite memory is a flashback of just seeing our family attend the games through the years; There was something really wonderful about sticking it out for a team/school no matter what the weather. Winning was always fun but, being a fan and helping grow a team is highly rewarding.Especially if you are making friendships with people who feel the same way about staying with a school to watch it grow.
  12. UNT will open a new $78 million stadium next fall. What a great north Texas university it is turning out to be. The Mean Green opens spring practice March 23rd. New Coach; New Stadium! Check it out in the DMN article.
