  1. I am glad to finally read some news about Haynes here. I watched him for two years at Crosby High and the kid can play. If he were an inch or two taller, he'd be a real contender for the QB.
  2. My alma mater Baytown Lee lost to Strake Jesuit of Houston. Durn.
  3. Wow, so you have to be PERFECT to go to church now?
  4. Bayou Bengals 45 Mean Green 10 BUT, should there be an upset: Mean Green 16 Bayou Bengals 13 All positions covered.
  5. The new board looks great.
  6. Cowtown; if you found out what a "Bear" is in NOLA, then you did it the hard way
  7. That's a good looking sweatshirt. I saw a Mean Green cap on the Boliver Ferry near galveston last week.
  8. I agree with coach about Haynes and his story but I voted for Henley. Still, Thomas Hayden Church is a fave as is Phyllis "Georgeous" George. Moyers would likely cause me to turn off the set. Hey, what about Jim Hightower? God bless Noble Willingham.
  9. The Tigers may look good but they still have Les Miles on the sideline. Everytime I hear his name a picture of Miles' shell-shocked face during that Texas comeback last season rises in my head.
  10. We were in Baton Rouge last week and strolled around the Tiger Stadium to check out the upper deck work. They may have that ready in time for the Mean Green, but I have to say they better be working overtime and on the weekends if they want to get it done. By-the-by, those of you who are traveling down to Bayou Country for that one better get your armor on, Tiger fans are B-R-U-T-A-L in their own house.
  11. If I'm laying money on it, I'd have to go with OU. But I'd LOVE to see the Frogs put a spear in the Sooners. I'll definately be rooting for them and the Longhorns to whup OU's ample arse this season.
  12. I always liked the Knippa Rockcrushers. Oh, and the Baytown Lee Ganders.
  13. Ricky Williams was pretty amazing. You just knew that after banging on the line six or seven times he was ready to break a long one. I saw him set the single game rushing record against Iowa State one night in Austin. He was unstoppable. Though Doak Walker was ahead of my time my dad was an SMU fan because of him. Doaker was also incredibly versatile as well.
  14. Back in the 1960s there was a hotshot QB from Kansas named Tommy Hartledge who had offers from all over the Big 10 and the Big Eight but grades forced him to JC. He came to Denton with a scrapbook full of press clippings and hype but I don't think he lasted a year at NT. Wonder where he is now?
  15. I am surprised that the Mean Green hasn't played the Lobos more often. I think it would be an attractive series for both sides.
  16. You have to have Walter Chapman on there. I would also add Willie Parker to the offensive line.
  17. I give Salute Your Shorts the slight edge, though Hey Dude was not without it's merits.
