  2. Don't forget that North Texas has the #1 graduation rate among student-athletes of any Public Div. I-A school. Some North Texas firsts from Wikipedia: First jazz studies program in the U.S., which is consistently ranked the nation's best. First emergency administration and disaster prevention program in the U.S. First peace studies program in the Southwest. First oil and petroleum accounting program in the U.S. First patent for silicon-based ultra-sensitive chemical sensor for use in integrated circuit fabrication. First business computer information systems program in the U.S. First PhD program in art education in the U.S. First bachelor's degree in electronic merchandising in the U.S. First online school library preparation program in the U.S. First accredited counseling program in the U.S., which still ranks among the nation's best. First school in the country to offer a degree in Mechanical and Energy Engineering First college in the South to integrate; Class of 1956 was first integrated graduating class. First football team in modern history to go to a bowl game after posting a losing overall record. The Mean Green finished 5-6 overall in 2001 but won the Sun Belt with a 5-1 conference record, thus earning an automatic bid to the New Orleans Bowl.
  3. Help out our fellow Sun Belt member Western Kentucky in the Capital One Fur Factor Mascot Challenge. You can only vote once per day, so it won't take too much time away from voting for Caris. It is extremely close right now. WKU has already moved into the Semifinals, and needs our help to get over the top. After you vote for WKU, you can do a right-in vote for North Texas. http://www.capitalonebowl.com/Voting/Default.aspx Enjoy!
  4. According to the boxscore on MeanGreenSports.com, Jamario didn't play tonight. Did anyone hear anything during the broadcast as to why?
  5. I was just about to post this, but you beat me to it. This is great news!!! This could easily be the greatest Thanksgiving present ever!
  6. Definately rooting for the Belt. We need as many wins as we can get.
  7. According to the University's master plan, those are going to be rec fields. http://www.unt.edu/untmasterplan/documents...Master_Plan.pdf Scroll all the way down to Sec. 1:58 (pg. 62 of 144)
  8. This would be some very interesting information. Since I'd like to start that NT- themed sports bar, I'd really like to know this information. Illuvius32- please pass on this information to me if you find it out. I'll see what I can do to come across the same information and I'll be happy to send it to you if I get it.
  9. Game is at 1:00. You can listen to it on sunbeltsports.org if you want to pay.
  10. Definately be there rain or shine. They are now saying the rain is going to hold off until Sunday. Good news!
  11. I would suggest trying to find someone from work/church/etc. that has never been to a game and giving these tickets to them, especially if they are alumni. They just might have a great time and buy their own tickets in the future.
  12. The game is on ESPN GamePlan and ESPN Regional. You can watch it on GamePlan online or if you live in the DFW Metroplex, the game is being shown on Ch. 52.
  13. Still have a big game tomorrow afternoon vs. New Orleans at 1:00
  14. It's kind of long, but it's hillarious. I was laughing hysterically.
  15. Volleyball Story: http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...0&ATCLID=651489 Soccer Story: http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...0&ATCLID=651504
  16. Watching football during the day, then heading to Denton for the volleyball game on Satuday night and volleyball/soccer Sunday afternoon.

  18. http://www.wfaa.com/bustour/ Ch. 8 did its newscasts from Denton today focusing on the city and its culture. I found the video to be pretty interesting, so I figured I'd pass it along.
  19. This is somewhat similiar to the Denton sports bar and restaurant that I brought up in another thread. The main difference is that instead of it being toward a specific goal, the money would go the athletic department in general as well as toward the University in general.
  20. A good event. http://www.kscs.com/Article.asp?id=278150&spid=
  21. I noticed the games on Friday and Sunday were scheduled at the same time as well. It may have been difficult to schedule the games at different times on Friday, but Sunday should have been a no-brainer. One game at 1:00, one at 3:00 or 3:30. Wish I could make it up there for the games, but I have to work today and Sunday. It's important to support all of our Mean Green athletes.
  22. I'll be there with at least 5 friends, maybe more.
  23. Thanks for posting the video again Stebo. Let's hope things are still on pace to get that new stadium open in 2009. That's 3 years away! Is it just me or does that video really make you feel good to be associated with the great University of North Texas! It also makes me want to do everything I can do help achieve this goal. Go Mean Green!
  24. Keep voting, we're now ahead of A&M and only trail UT.
  25. Go to the site and vote for the Mean Green! We can do better than this!
