Much too young. He seemed to be a really good guy who always came to celebrations for his old teammates. He was here when Joe Greene's statue was unveiled.

These are all young coaches so they should have the energy and enthusiasm to match Morris. However, none of these will be coordinators nor the offensive line coach (who I believe is as important as a good coordinator). They may leave more money for other coaching salaries.

We had that in Aune. I’m not saying those guys are the answer, I’m just saying we haven’t seen them throw the ball. Since Seth was so good at getting backups in when we’re up/down by 30
I just think next year's starting QB is not currently on the roster.

Agreed. Give Earle or Head a chance. Both have actual playing experience. We may not even need to recruit a starter, he might already be in house.
That being said if we could convince Sanders to finish his career at home I wouldn’t be mad
I think Morris will want a QB who can actually throw the ball downfield.

I know we have some players are "chippy" but the entire BS team was chippy from the start. They wanted to bully their way to victory and didn't understand when UNT fought back.

He may already have most of his staff selected but they may have to wait until their current schools finish their seasons.

So many bad choices.

A Navy coach who’s teams lose to inferior Army teams due to their own mistakes. No thanks.

Of the on field coaching positions, I believe the OL coach is most important.

UT Pan-American is UT Rio Grande now. They combined 3 places and folded it into one school with different campuses I think.
I knew some cute girls at UT Pan-American back in my college days.

So, the AD hire is supposed to be first, then the football HC hire, according to how it's usually done and the football scoop prediction. What happens if Mr. New AD just wants to bring his football HC with him and disregards our wish lists and research? Does Neal have a vote in coach search?
The AD works for Smatresk. A new AD won't have final say and won't be able to throw away all the work that has already been done.

@Brett Vito any word on the search firms they’re using?
Give Vito time to read the article and write up an article based on it.

I've seen videos of Graham addressing the team and he does not come off as a leader. He may be a good head coach one day but I'd rather UNT not be the first to test that. I agree that we need someone with more experience.

We get SMU as our yearly game while UTSA gets Rice.

I saw the Navy-NT game and there was very little defense. However, I don't think it was as bad as UH vs SMU. NT could not stop Navy's run attack and Navy could not stop NT passing.
Nether UH or SMU seemed to be able to stop anything.
I was also at that UNT-Navy game. It was a lot of fun for awhile. Fortunately, the Navy vets around me were good guys.

It is possible we lose the rest of our games FIU is improving, Rice could be tough and WKU and UAB are going to be real tough games not the road.
So instead of a late winning streak that saves Seth's job, we could have a late losing streak that gets Seth fired.

That was such a great game to watch! Watching the highlights again reminds me of all the big, memorable plays that happened that night. When I think of George calling UNT games, I always think back to his call of this game.
For me, this might be the most memorable UNT game of last decade.

I'm sure Vito is ready to begin the "Aune to UNT Hall of Fame" campaign.

The big issue is with conferences merging, paying players, and the transfer portal, it's getting harder and harder for any team to move up. Specifically for North Texas, the best thing we can do is have a larger, more active fan base. More people seats = more exciting game days = more money for facilities/coaches/etc.

Bean looked good until those final three passes.

I like Colony Eagles plan...just one hitch. Do you have any idea how hard it is to fire a state employee? Usually they just budget them out of existence rather than go through the hassle of firing them.
Make them contractors instead of employees.

Please explain the joke, because I'm a little slow I guess. Not only have I shit on Aune, I also regularly like to poke fun at Bert too.
Brett Vito loves him some Derek Thompson who he believes should be in the UNT Hall of Fame. Yes, we won a bowl game with Derek and his very mediocre stats that season.

No problem. I might not say it if he was 93 but at 73, seemingly in good health physically and mentally, he would have another 10 to 20 years to spend with family and friends.
