  1. Checked out my new seats, section D, Row 12, seats 30, 31, 32 (across the aisle from E). Looks great, but kind of hard to tell without a game going on! Field looked just like the posted picture. Nothing at the 50 yd line yet. BTW, I was told the first ten rows of Section E are reserved for recruits. See you there in September! GMG!
  2. I had no idea Coach Dickey had such a great sense of humor! Patrick, Nick and Johnny are all very polite and personable young men. (I have picures, but I don't know how to post them.) Everyone involved did a great job! I would love to attend Football 102 for a little more indepth information. Thanks for the great time! GMG!
  3. I think we're going with lower D on the aisle across from Section E. We need aisle seats (claustrophobic issues) and couldn't get 3 on an end in section E. Thanks for all the input. I am going to Football 101 and plan to stop at Fouts first to take a look at the seats and field. I'll let you know what it looks like! GMG!
  4. I'm just afraid that we won't be able to see if we sit in row 12. Anybody in that row with an opinion? BTW, great new board! GMG!
  5. We're section M orphans and I have to make a decision on season tickets. Is section E, row 12 too close? We wanted to get around 16,17,18 but that's hard for 3 tickets. We have a couple more options in the middle of F and in D. Any advice? We were section M, row27 aisle the last two years. Yes, we're screamers and tortilla throwers! GMG!
  6. If I can get the OK to switch hours with a co-worker, I'll be there! If I can't, I'll be wishing I was there! I've watched football since I moved to Abilene from Anchorage, AK when I was 12, but I know there's still some things that elude me. Plus, I guess I'm a DOW! Ha! I'll be driving up early from Euless if I get to attend. Should know late this afternoon or early tomorrow if anyone wants to carpool. GMG!
  7. AARRGGHH! I HAVE TO WORK!!!! Are you sure it is on Thursday evening, Aug 4? GMG!
  8. What list do they use to send out the fan guides? I bought season tickets again and renewed my MGC membership, but have not received a guide. I did look at it online, but I want a nice printed one! GMG!
  9. I live in Euless and would be very interested in a Tarrant County chapter. When I first joined the Exes there was talk of the tarrant chapter hosting an event at Lone Star Park, attending a Ranger game and a few other things besides just happy hours. They always seemed to be on one of the nights I work. My daughter (a new alum) and I attended the '03 New Orleans Bowl watching party at the Embassy Suites in Grapevine. It was OK, but attendance was much lower than I expected. Stan R and Rick, please keep me in the loop. Edge515280@aol.com Also, daughter signed over her $10 fee refund for something or other to the Exes for new grad membership, but hasn't received anything from them. Anybody know what's up? I renewed at the end of May and received my new membership card fairly quickly. On the Joe T's event, I had emailed Sarah Heiser about alumni volunteers needed to attend the parent receptions during freshman orientation sessions, but found they were on days I couldn't attend. She invited me to Joe T's via email before I got the invite in the mail. Don't know yet if I can attend. GMG!
  10. Thanks for all the info. Just got back from a few days in Galveston and just got back on the board. We'll only need one room. I checked on LA Downs, too. I'm disappointed we'll miss the races. Thanks again all. See you in Ruston! GMG!
  11. Renewed my MGC membership for the second year and ordered season tickets for the third. Upped to three tickets since we have a new alumna in the family. Haven't ordered LaTech tickets as yet, but they're next on my list. GMG!
  12. and need suggestions for where to stay in Shreveport after we beat LaTech in October! (thanks Shaneb!) GMG!
  13. Shaneb, thanks for the kind words. On a completely different subject, I see you are in Shreveport and was wondering which casino hotel is the best to stay in Saturday night after the La Tech game. GMG!
  14. I'd love to see one for our opener with Tulsa. If it's possible to get them out early enough, you've got walking advertisements around campus, not to mention in the metroplex if alumni can get ahold of them too. I'd buy at least two. I second making them green. GMG!
  15. I guess I'll have to see if I can beg off an hour early since I've already put in for the weekend of the LaTech game and the Saturday of the Ark State game. Rats! I hate to miss any of the game. GMG!
  16. Why? Is this confirmed? Tell me it ain't so! GMG!
  17. I'd go with NTEDGE or EDGE74. I'll buy as soon as the new plates are available, for my car and for my daughter's. GMG!
  18. Give me Butter Brickle at Beth Marie's! GMG!
  19. Takes us about 35-40 minutes from beautiful downtown Euless. We don't stop 'cause I'm trying to make kickoff! (I work until 5pm on most Saturdays.) GMG!
  20. After being forced to move from section M I've requested lower E, somewhere in rows 16-18 on the end. I pay the $250 MGC fee anyway primarily for the parking. I was assured that they would make every effort to give me what I asked for since we're being forcibly moved. Someone from the ticket office is supposed to contact me after the renewal deadline on July 15 with seating options if necessary and to make sure I will be satisfied with our seats. I hope this actually happens. Also, we're planning on going to Ruston for the LaTech game. Anyone else? GMG!
  21. Nice site. They also have an alumni registration for anyone who worked at the station. ('71-'72 news announcer) Also a place for comments. I'll never forget the announcing class I took taught by the great Bill Mercer! GMG!
  22. ntsumgspe, sorry it took a while to answer you. Daughter graduated Saturday (a new season ticket holder!) and I haven't been on the board with all the family and festivities. The rep was an older gentleman (gray hair) that was at the bookstore. I didn't get a name, sorry. I hope what he told me is true. GMG!
  23. I signed up last year at an NT Exes booth at Arbor Days in Euless. The guy I talked to was an officer in the Tarrant County Chapter and said they had lots of plans for outings including a day at the Race Track in Grand Prairie. As far as I know, none of these plans came to pass. I know the Tarrant chapter used to have monthly meetings at different restaurants/bars in the area, but apparently those have completely stopped. I never could attend because they were always on the weeknight that I work. I did go to the NO Bowl watching party in 2002 in Grapevine and had a good time, but I was surprised at the light turnout. They are still doing the sign over whatever fee that was in return for first year membership. Had a table in the bookstore through today for May grads who were ordering their announcements, caps and gowns, etc. I would love to be more involved, but have not heard from anyone regarding upcoming activities.
  24. I couldn't afford whatever they had in '74. I've considered buying a pendant from Jostens. I saw it at the bookstore when we bought my daughter's ring and it looks pretty nice. The rep from Josten's said they could also make me a ring with NTSU on it if I wanted! GMG!
  25. What happened to the vendors down from the concession stands? I have season tickets in Sec. M (next to the students) and they've always had drinks in tubs and the sausage guys right behind us. The kettle corn was there, but that was it. Are they not allowing groups to come in and make money for their charities anymore? I always thought NT got paid a fee for letting them sell. It's a real mess to have to go to the concessions stands just for a drink. Setting up the tubs always worked great in the past. Is there a reason beyond wanting all of he concessions monies? If so, the concessions people could set up the drink tubs. Or maybe campus organizations?
