I note a couple of things. We see plenty of INTs and that is encouraging/concerning. We don’t usually know who threw them or how it played out. Noticed a couple of read-option plays and have to assume Bean is running those? Also note that they tend to be mentioned as defense highlights... Lots of run plays for gain.

Deserves it. Was a good soldier here and played where needed if it likely hurt his chances at the next level. Glad it payed off!

I think the Dline recruiting has been ok. Not great but we had some all-conference recognition and an NFL invite the last couple years. Not much of that in the Oline. We sign 4-6 a year and still struggling to find competent starters, much less reliable depth.

But does it make financial sense? This season is a complete joke. So why bid anything that doesn’t make a profit. Bowl games should not happen. No championship is legit. If we play let’s focus on money.

Seems like they got that ratio backwards from a public health perspective. You would want to limit the indoor crowd more than the outdoor. But I think we know how that decision was reached..

Even though the pandemic creates challenges, universities often see surges when there is massive unemployment as people see second degrees or higher level degrees to make themselves more marketable or switch careers. I believe it also happened in 2008-09.

Well RV has his negatives and probably plateaued a few years before he was fired. But he cared about the job and did his best. I can tell you that when the student vote failed in 2002, he didn’t give up and he was able to convince me to pass a partial fee through the Student Government to up many of our facilities. Our acquisition of Liberty Christian property was funded from that. That led to the athletic academic center and all the women’s facilities. Don’t forget the softball team was playing in a public park. We were prime for a lawsuit then but instead we ended up being one of the top programs for Title IX compliance. I am not making any excuses for his shortcomings or mistakes, just noting that he accomplished some good things.
