He has never been a coordinator on either side of the ball (but became MU’s head coach??) but he has been a good LB coach and recruiter. Pay him 350 and make him DC. Why not?

The only reason this interests me is: are there any fired coaches that might fit here as QB coach or DC.

Coaches (and many other professionals) interview for leverage. Or at a minimum it can be a win-win for them. Either get the offer that makes you walk away or use the offer for a better deal.

Almost every assistant in college football is on a one-year contract so I don’t think that is a factor.

If we will all our games we will be ranked and get national attention. No matter the G5 conference, we are not getting into the playoff so it doesn’t matter.
