  1. Easy road games don't mean jack if they are the bottom of the barrel. Let's set the bar a little higher.

we are already members with the bottom of the barrel ranked teams. Why not play some in-state doormats instead of traveling to florida or kentucky to play them?

  2. I think UNT has a little more competition for the sports dollar in D/FW than UTSA does in the Alamo city. Our sales force has their work cut out for them. Not to mention, UTSA hasn't lost a football game yet.

the sports competition is an excuse. dfw has 5 million people vs 1 millin in san antonio. how can we only manage 3000 season tickets?

  3. people want to ignore the elephant in the room. with no history their sales numbers dwarf our vaunted salesforce.

The Roadrunners have sold 32 suites 24 more than their initial projections. Season ticket sales have surpassed 7,000, and business is expected to pick up as the season nears. Single-game tickets go on sale July 19.

Hickey said Nelligan Sports, UTSA's marketing partner, has already hit its sponsorship sales marks for the year. Membership in the Roadrunners Athletic Fund has nearly tripled over the past year, from 550 to 1,600.

  4. As for the logo is concerned, yes we have implemented in may spaces throughout the stadium and on the field. I love the logo we helped design in 2005. So I have expanded its' use in many places where else it shows up will have to be seen.

i hope this is a hint of something maybe helmet related?

thanks for the clarification on several issues. i do like using north texas vs unt.

the overlapped nt should be tried again, new administration you know!

the tsu issue is just summer boredom. the wac seems to be surrounding us with utsa, tsu, and now uta also accepting. eventually the elephant in the room will have to be dealt with.

  5. It's because NORTH has wider, rounder (NOH) letters than TEXAS. You can't run them together as close like you can TXA. Font fact. biggrin.gif

    GMG!

i call bull. they could have and should have spaced out texas more to make it equal size. texas is smaller intentionally to go with the new logo on the new helmet. why? who knows why they are downsizing texas but it is obvious they are.

  6. Mostly likely the architects made the call on the size for the best look - not for clarity from the interstate. Isn't there supposed to be a big banner hanging under the endzone seating that will be visible from the interstate?

if you cant read it from the road why bother to put it on the building?

  7. I drove south on I35 E today, passing the stadium. I found that I couldn't read/decipher the new stadium sign! The font is too small to decipher from southbound I35 E. Of course, I KNOW what it says, but you can't tell from 35 E. Now, 35 W South may be a different story but I can't imagine you have a better view, there.

Perhaps a big NORTH TEXAS or UNT could fill the spot? I could read the UNT sign by the old hotel before I could read the script on the new stadium.

the lettering should have been twice the size it is for highway traffic to easily see it. who makes these final decisions on size, lee jackson?

  8. This magazine states in the last game of the 09 season against ASU

the 1st two QB were out due to injury the 3rd string QB was left in Denton out with mono so he had no choice but to take the RS off the true frosh Derek Thompson.

false. he had two othr former qbs playing that could have run the last three plays. there was nothing to be gained but a loss of a whole season for dt.

  9. Good Lord! It's just as ugly as the original drawings. It reminds me of Solider Field in Chicago in that it looks like an old two-story building with a cheap looking third floor added.

yes, looks like they should be tearing it down instead of landscaping it!

  10. I guess under a rock! What I'm really asking is, when is the stadium going to get a big corporate sponsor?

Mean Green Stadium is nice, but a big corporate sponsor will bring in $$$$$. Hopefully this will happen before the season starts.

if rv would just hire four or five development people to get old alums back and some corporate sponsors we would be ok.

    he did?

    when?
