It was, but Morris wasn't here at the time most of the portal recruiting actually happened. If you wanted us to make an impact this year, then SL should have been let go earlier so the new coach could 1) defend our guys from getting recruited, and 2) recruited other players actually in the portal. Now that is about the only slack I am willing to cut EM. The rest of the complaints, such as staff make up, scheme selection, game planning, in game adjustment, etc? Those all have some (to a lot of) validity.

You could, and as far as the alumni, Denton residents, local coaches, media, etc would be concerned we would be third rate. You would have to get to multiple final fours for anyone to see past the terrible football. The only path to lasting relevance is elevating the football program. We've been much more successful in other sports and it just isn't the same impact. That's not my choice, it's just the reality of where we live.

We have always been at war with EastAsia SMU. But seriously it's just how the board is configured, Admins has a special banner, mods don't. However look at the top of the board, click on the staff link, you can see the moderators listed there.

As what, defensive coordinator? Special assistant? Something along those lines I am all for. He can't be a head coach unless he is willing to recruit and especially recruit the portal, something TCU fans said he would not do.

Just not in Texas. Where the university, our alumni, the local media, HS coaches, etc, all are located.

Yeah, in the North East. I am sure Drexel is a big story in Philly. We already tried this, under Chancellor Hurley. All the "culture" problems we have with Denton, HS coaches, alumni giving, local media, etc come directly from that. Once we didn't take footballs seriously everyone looked down on us.

MBB has been on a tear, and it's been... nice. We got some local media coverage, especially for the NCAA Tourney win. The same success in football would bring 10x the attention. Can you imagine what would happen if we got an expanded CFP spot? It would be a huge story. Donations would explode. I am a fan of basketball, I want a baseball team, but I know the only thing that is going to drive attention and donations in a big big way is football.

Have you guys gone outside recently and noticed how hot it is? That's because we are in Texas, not the North East. Athletics is more or less used for advertising and fund raising. Here in Texas that is predicated on football success.
