  1. Tar Heel Fan here! I love this move for Jace and for UNT. We always appreciate what Seth did for our offense in ‘14-‘15 and picking up Jace will be a huge compliment to the UNT program. Jace flashed a very good skill set before getting injured and contrary to popular belief, he’s not as injury prone as you’d believe as he’s had zero non-contact injuries. He just needs to learn when not to take hits. You guys are getting a really good one. He has a cannon for an arm, he’s mobile, he’s big. He’s also had the opportunity to learn from an offense that was one of the best in CFB and

  2. I can't release his name or any hints because he wants it to be a surprise. But at his current rankings he will be the highest rank recruit in UNT history. His offer sheet is a mile long with P5 offers. He decided he wanted to stay close to home. Tomorrow will be a great day for Mean Green Family!! GMG

  3. Watching the Richmond/Toledo game tonight was real joy for me. Not that I cared who won, but because the North Texas court logos were clearly viewable in almost every shot. That equals two plus hours of free advertising on ESPN2. And, we still have 3 more opening round games left over the next few days. We are also enjoying our logo being displayed at the games in Frisco. I have no idea how Wren achieved this, or what he had to spend to have North Texas partner with the NIT, but it was a real stroke of genius. It is all the better because UNT is in the Madness this season, which creates a seco

  4. Speaking as someone who currently has Covid, it is the real thing. It is relentless and EVERY step should be taken to keep it from spreading. If it means we cancel a football game, then we cancel. If you think it isn't real or isn't that bad, then I would guess you probably have not had it.... and I hope you don't.

  5. I’m sure this won’t be a popular post, but I just wanted to provide a little perspective. The world is in the middle of the worst health crisis in our lifetime. Many businesses have gone under and many people have lost their jobs. Our kids that chose in person learning must wear face masks all day long. Many members of our government are now being hospitalized due to the virus. We can’t do routine shopping without wearing face masks. Even then, we still risk exposure to a virus that could be life-threatening. We were completely without live sports for almost 5 months. Some conferences still h

  7. Because that's what you do in the middle of a pandemic... you sign up for 30 years of payments... Anyways, we started moving in yesterday, and for those of you who don't know, I live in Nashville. Well, today we opened up a closet and discovered this ONE chair left here by the previous owner... I'd like to think this is a sign that this was the perfect home purchase... because i'll be damned if this isn't a Flying Worm Mean Green chair right here.

  8. I am hearing that a deal is done between UNT and former SMU head coach Phil Bennett to be come the new DC for North Texas. Bennett has had DC stops at Texas A &M , Baylor, TCU, Kansas State and LSU. Believe it is a huge grab for Seth with him bringing over 25 years of DC experience!

  9. Here's a public shout-out of thanks to Wren and the entire Athletic Dept for giving us a season. I was worried over the summer there wouldn't be any football at all. Or, the season would be so diminished that it would be almost like no season at all. Or, all the "safety protocols" would be so extensive that I'd feel like I'm having a rectal exam every time I went through the gates. Luckily, none of that happened. Of course I wish the team had a better season. But, as a fan, I'm happy I had was able to be in the stands cheering on the team. And, we managed to get an extra home g

  11. We all watched the same game, we all saw the good and the bad moments, of which there were plenty of each. I dug a little deeper into the statistics of this performance to try and get some reference. Aune’s passing stat line: 28/47 for 339 yards, 2 TDs/0 INTs For Mean Green QBs this was the second most passing yards ever in a starting debut, behind Vizza’s 383 against Louisiana Lafayette in 2007. Aune averaged 7.2 yards/attempt in this game. Last season Mason Fine averaged 7.2 yards/attempt against FBS competition for the season. Aune threw the ball 47 times, which

  12. Now that we are on the other side of a COVID forced “off week” I think it’s important to turn our attention to SMU discussions. I’ll start. I hope they lose every day in practice this week. I hope they get booed when they order fast food. I hope their underwear feel a bit too tight when they walk around. I hope their cardboard cutout fans act like their real fans...only a few thousand show up, they pay little attention to the game, they leave in the third quarter, and they talk about how “back in the good ol’ days” they were the best cardboard figures

  14. Congratulations on a great game. Your team had a good game plan and executed it to the “t”. You were definitely the best team on the floor tonight. Purdue’s youth really showed in this game but we’ll be back. Best of luck for rest of tourney...This Boilermaker will be cheering for you. Boiler Up!

  16. I like that he got to learn a little from Mack Brown too. I never liked the Longhorns much but he recruited my cousin to come play for him at Tulane. He even showed me his Independence Bowl Jersey once. When my cousin was dying from cancer, I sent a message to Mack’s secretary at Texas telling the story of him and my cousin and how my cousin was sick and dying. Mack called and left him a voicemail the very next day with some kind words. I will always be a Mack Brown fan.

  17. As we finish up year 5 of Seth Littrell as North Texas football. He will move to 0-4 in bowl games, no conference Championships, And the worst defense in the country. If its DC fault go out and hire a good DC. If its players fault get to the damn portal. You just got man handled by a damn sun belt team. hell maybe it is the strength and conditioning coach. Figure the shit out.

  18. It's almost like they (UTEP personnel) don't understand what's going on in their own town & why NT would be apprehensive about travelling there with over 100 people.

  19. Seth Littrell is 27-25 over 4 seasons with zero conference championships, three bowl losses in which the defense gave up 47 PPG and one of the highest paid coaches in CUSA with best facilities and resources we have ever had. I'm not saying he's on the hot seat but he should be if we're not in the hunt for a conference championship. If we end up with 4 wins again we should be raising hell there is no excuse for mediocrity now.

I know nothing about cooking or spices or vegetable oil, but with a name like Hayden Fries, they’re bound to be good. I bet there is no such stadium food offering at Ford Field or Kinnick Stadium. No sir, just here at Apogee Stadium. Get ‘em while they’re hot ! GO MEAN GREEN

  22. I'm willing to bet a substantial amount of money that everyone in Green wanted to play. Players, Coaches, AD, everyone. We can accuse the guys of not being very good, but I wouldn't question their heart to play... no matter who's on the other side. If you're insinuating we're using this to get out of the game because the team thought they were going to lose, that's pretty crappy.

  26. While looking through the roster and the various position groups it really stood out to me how many of these guys had at least one P5 school offer them in high school. We can basically put together a starting lineup of guys who had P5 offers, and are 2-3 deep there in some positions. So I did. This obviously is nothing like what our starting lineup will look like and some of these guys will get or have already been outplayed by guys who didn’t have P5 offers, but it’s encouraging to see so many of these type of players competing for spots. That’s how you build a good roster. The guys who

  29. I don't believe the sky is falling. Yes we have a lot of people leaving. But lets think about this for a second. Everyone is getting and extra year. There is going to be a back log on the roster. Some players have to leave to make room to being in more guys. Most guys that have left already had there degree.. but lets think about who has transferred so far.. Transfer so far Siggers RB - I love Siggers.. but lets be real. He was atleast 3rd on the depth chart. You have the young studs coming up Johnson, Ragsdale and the STUD Adaway. Also hearing Torrey is coming back. So he was

  30. I’m tired of seeing our d-linemen getting doubled into our LBs laps, then seeing that 5th DB come in to make the tackle after 10+ yard gains. I know it’s a passing league, I know it’s easier to get good DB recruits than D-Line recruits as a G5 school, but the 3-3-5 hasn’t worked and it feels like our players are constantly in positions where they are on their heels and in 3rd and shorts, if they even get to 3rd down. Maybe even a 4-2-5 might make more sense if teams’ bases are 11 personnel. We have recruited well the last couple of years defensively, so I refuse to believe we don’t have p

  32. I know this isn't the time for the athletic department to be spending money, but the way this virus disproportionately effects our older population really got me to thinking about Abner Haynes. Wren did a great job of getting a quality sculptor to honor Joe Greene. I really hope once we get past COVID-19, Haynes will also get his due. I've had this sculpture finished for the last 4 years, and I see it every time I go into my studio to work. If Wren wants to go another direction, that fine. I just hope UNT gets to honor Haynes, like we did Joe Greene.

Teams are looking to make all non-conference games within driving distance. - Need MGSF donors now more than ever. - Coach McCasland walked through the day that the conference tournament and NCAA tournament were both cancelled. - Some capital projects will be delayed. - Some TV deals for the upcoming football season are starting to take shape, including with Stadium and CBS Sports Network. - Don’t expect the football season to be shortened, but could be delayed. - If foot

  44. I have read post after post about how the SMU juggernaut is going to destroy us based on last night’s performance by our team against HBU. Would that be the same SMU that squeaked out a 10 point win against Texas State (that was honestly far closer until VERY late in the game)? Texas State was 3-9 last year, got routinely blown out, and beat the same HBU team we just played by 9. Last night’s game told me a grand total of nothing about the rest of the season for our team. Bean is fast (not Aune “quick” but legitimately FAST). Both quarterbacks missed some throws. The d
