  1. We just got back from my youngest daughters graduation in Fayetteville. I love the campus and Dickson street area. I ran into a lot of people who when “the game” came up, where still in shock and impressed. We left a wound in the fandom and I enjoyed the conversations. I actually lived in Knoxville for a short time and experienced the same reactions regarding our victory there. We don’t have that many milestones but that fateful day at Arkansas was a special one.

  5. Guys, the problem isn't us or any other school per se. The problem is ESPN. TV markets run the show now and the rumor is the conference is getting pressure to add school on the West Coast that don't make a lick of sense outside of possible TV eyeballs. It was ESPN that brought Mizzou into the SEC over even founding member Georgia Tech, created the damned Big XII and added f'ing Rutgers and Maryland to a conference with Nebraska and Minnesota. I've stated before that if UNT or any school can add to the TV money that is what will carry the day, and if anyone in here can seriously

  13. Yet smuT posters always end up over here to make a comment. For a school that doesn't matter much to some of you, you all sure can't seem to stay out of our backyard. The greatest fear of smuT at this point if for the giant public university in their market to catch fire and finally live up to its potential. There is a great benefit to smuT to keep North Texas "in its place." Well, I have a feeling the tide is about to turn.

  17. UNLV: Former North Texas cornerbacks coach Clay Jennings has joined UNLV in the same role. Jennings spent the last two years at UNT. In addition, City College of San Francisco linebackers coach Larry Grant has joined UNLV as a defensive analyst. read more: https://theathletic.com/2201022/2021/05/07/college-football-coaching-changes/

  18. ^^^^^^This I would kill to have Skip Holtz coach for the Mean Green. He routinely develops guys for the next level and remains competitive year in and year out. Littrell has a glimmer of that, but nowhere near the consistency.

  23. This has always been an easy formula. Dominate your current conference and other conferences will not need to be persuaded. They will be chasing us. That has never happened around here as even our best years we were not exactly spectacular. If football gets its act together and basketball maintains or improves then the AAC will be knocking at our door. But we have know this for decades and here we are.

  26. Just confirmed with another alum to make sure, but Seth’s parents of Oklahoma & the Lovelace family of Denton were longtime friends. As I also recall it was Lovelace who used his Leer(?) to fly out to North Carolina to bring SL to Denton for his first news conference as new UNT coach. Lovelace made the initial financial commitment for the new IPF. McNatts followed suit. I know the MG Nation are beyond glad that both families were that gracious. ❇️🦅❇️ GMG!

  27. TAKE SOMINEX TONIGHT OR READ THIS EPISTLE... My gut feeling tells me the pendulum is fixen’ to swing back in the direction of North Texas as far as La Tech is concerned. •••The pics below of which so many Texas HS coaches & future recruits have yet to see these venues in person are just a few reasons why. For whatever reason, Skip Holtz has not been seriously considered for P5 job openings enough as to hire him. Lucky for the Ruston school inasmuch that it gives the “appearance” to recruits that the LaTech HFC had (all the time) unpacked all his suitcases years ago with intenti

  28. According to website “Over the Cap”, a fourth round draft pick should expect to sign a 4 year contract worth about 4.11 mil paying between $814-$733 thou per year, including signing bonus. If Jaelon can make the team, have a relatively injury free 4 years and not spend his money foolishly, he should be well on his way to a prosperous future. Don't forget to write, Jaelon. GO MEAN GREEN

  29. I kinda gotta disagree with #5 5. There is no pressure on UNT in 2021 In my (not so popular) opinion, this is a HUGE pressure year for Littrell. If he can't get us out of a 2 year hole then he's looking for a new job. The recruits are stellar. We have some great talent, coaching changes (again), and the stars should be aligning for us. I welcome a resurgence, but the pressure most definitely should be on and high.

  33. If the AAC adds another football team to their league, I’d bet it would be Army as a football only add before anyone else would get a full member invite. What UNT needs badly is for TV to lose its grip on conference revenue and who gets to be members in these G5 leagues. That should be an NCAA controlled process. If that means watching the P5s go away on their own, sobeit. That would be the best thing that could ever happen, for reasons of competition and visibility. CFB has become so amazingly stale and predictable with the following teams always making the playoffs: Bama, Clemson,

  35. Half a century (& more for others) of following this program will teach one much & one is that North Texas should do like Houston did 60 years ago; that is, quit worrying about Southwest Conference private schools & just start making its own winning history. There really could be a brighter future for Mean Green athletics without any affiliation to schools who have little in common as far as public vs private universities. 🟦⬛️🟩 With that I hope the ‘Stangs & Mean Green will continue to tee it up. It still makes cents for both. GMG🦅
