4 straight for Mccasland after 6 straight from Johnny Jones. No clue why we decided to take a 5-year hiatus in between 🤷‍♂️ .14 points

Steps up on his soapbox: Kids with talent are coddled and made to feel special because of their athletic ability and it starts at a young age. They build a mentality over the years that they are going pro and don't need to worry about grades, classes, etc... and they are pushed through the system. There are a lot of great high school coaches out there that lived that life and realize it only comes true for very few and they preach the importance of hitting the books and applying themselves in the classroom as well as on the playing field, but many of these kids don't listen. Then we ru9 points

Tony’s basketball career was his own to make or break in, but it’s a shame we don’t do more to set our student athletes up for success after their playing careers are over. Of the football and basketball alums I know or follow on SM, some become coaches, but outside of that very few actually go into a job field that requires a degree. Many are encouraged to go towards integrative studies (general studies) or other degrees that help them focus on athletics, which just doesn’t open up many doors for them after graduation. Long story short, from what I see it just feels like so many of9 points

I believe is already in the building. Coach Petrilli should be hired asap. The dude brings the energy, knowledge everyday. The players love him. He truly loves UNT. I think this is a no brainer. Hire from with in. He learned from Biagi who I believe is the most underrated ST coach in the country. https://meangreensports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/chris-petrilli/5348 points

There was a lot of doom and gloom a month or so ago about the transfers. We really only ended up losing one starter to the portal on offense and defense combined, and that was Cam Johnson.8 points

This FB posting is very sad. I used to travel quite a bit as I commuted to my job in NYC from Durham. I was typically dressed in a suit when traveling and each time I passed the shoeshine stand at the RDU airport, a young man would call out to me to get my shoes shined. Shining my own shoes was something I enjoyed but I felt like I should support this man who obviously needed the business. Over the course of a year or two, I got to know him rather well and it turned out that he was a two year starter at the University of Alabama. He told me he was injured towards the end of his sen8 points

I don’t walk away from this split happy. I know winning two on the road is tough, but we were the better team. I hate to be critical of one of our players, but why wasn’t McBride in at the end of the game over Murray? If not McBride, then run Abou and Zack in the paint with Bell, Reese and Hamlet outside. Hell, I would like to see Robinson. At least he has length and scoring ability.7 points

Talons does it. Or at least they have the key to the box. Back when I was in school, we didn't even have a key (supposedly it had been lost), but you could crack the box open and slip your hand in, if you knew how to do so. I turned it on many times.7 points

Don't understand the downvote. If the kid leaves UNT he is wished well, but if he stays he's downvoted?7 points

Are you talking a real live eagle ? Many years ago, on the site where now there is the “UNT “ sign on I-35, sat the clubhouse to the North Texas Golf Course, later called Eagle Point Golf Course. When I was in jr high and high school, I went to billions of dances in said clubhouse. Between the parking lot and the Interstate, there was a cage, I’m told, used to house a live Eagle. I don’t recall ever seeing a bird there, but I certainly remember the very large cage. I for one, appreciate Plummeangreen’s frequent and sometime wacky posts. He is a great fan and7 points

There's an old hunchback that lives up there. All kidding aside, they should eventually change the tower lighting to incredibly bright LEDs, and have a remotely operated timer that someone in the AD triggers after every victory. The new top of the Super Pit should also be covered with LEDs. That place is DARK, and there is no way of even knowing that an event is taking place.6 points

According to a blurb in today's DMNews....the NCAA is strongly considering having all the NIT games in Dallas. Could affect us......if we don't make the NCAA tourney.6 points

Something about a Gary DeLoach defense brought out the best in some pretty amazing linebackers in his time here. Tobe & Craig were quite a duo in 2008-2009. Really glad to see the positive impact his music is making. He can flow, but it's not the cliche money/hoes/clothes rapping. It's so much better.6 points

I find it truly amazing that such beautiful music could come out of such a hard-hitting collegiate linebacker.6 points

Coronavirus reporting is so heavily swayed by politics, it is very unreliable. For any positive slant, there has to be negatives released. Added to the political influences, now you have to be aware of the tremendous financial implications.5 points

Who did you have in mind and how do you know the “daughter’s future husband” can’t recruit? Could Joel Filani recruit before he came to NT? What about Graham Harrelll or Patrick Cobbs? There are people on this board that would be ecstatic if Brandon Kennedy was named the Dline coach and he has zero coaching or recruiting experience. Unless you have a guy that is a can’t miss that we knowingly turned down, then you are just blowing hot air. Outside of LeBlanc who was hired away, which Dline coach of the Seth era would you rather have back than giving Passwaters (who probably has PB educating hi5 points

I’ve posted this before, but it felt pretty clear to me that Aune won the long game over Bean based on Littrell’s comments and how things ended. I don’t think Bean was shooed out, but I also don’t think the coaches were spending time late at night hoping he would stay either. Siggers did hurt, but he wasn’t a starter. Maybe he would’ve been in 2021, but he wasn’t in 2020.5 points

There are specific degrees called multiplinary disciplinary degrees (different names at different schools), they are not education degrees or other targeted disciplines. Might want to understand what they are before you try and equate them to an education degree.5 points

Every so often something from natures comes out to get us. Maybe it is how it controls our population growth. The last great one was the Spanish Flu, killed 50 million people and there was no vaccine for it. It lasted about 1.5 years before we had herd immunity. You ether died from it or built an immunity to it. I am not saying we should not try to stop it but these things have happened and will continue to happen. We will not get out of this world alive. Part of the numbers are skewed in the since if I have stage 4 cancer and I get covid and died I died from Covid when my days4 points

Stadium has us as a 13 seed playing the 4 seed Oklahoma. I would absolutely love this match up and to send Gibson and the Sooners packing! They also have WKU in the play I game versus Ucon. This would be a great situation for our conference!4 points
