We got Tylor Perry from a junior college. That is a lower level. Did his college basketball career even continue when he left here?

Heard a quote from Sonny Dykes about transfers and I thought it was genius (it is about football but I think it applies to basketball too). He said that if they weren’t playing where ever they came from, they probably won’t play for you either. Obviously there are some exceptions to that. But on the macro scale, I have found it to be true. Your transfer classes should be loaded with guys who were productive at lower levels (Tylor Perry, Jason Edwards) or guys who were productive at higher levels (Robert Allen, CJ Noland) but who fell out of favor at their previous school for decent reasons.

On this I agree 100%. Wish it was still this way. College football is getting way out of hand. Maybe it's just me.

What's the rationale behind waiting until after spring to get defensive linemen in the portal vs. going after more in the previous portal window?

No, I was trying to say his comparison of loyalty to hopping jobs. A company would drop any one as an employee without the bat of an eye. There is no loyalty on the business side.

Gonna be honest: what's killing my Mean Green vibe is not actually NIL, it's all the Mean Green fans griping about NIL. I know we all have our reasons, but for me and my fandom, I'm pretty good as long as someone is representing Mean Green in college sports. I like following the players and feel a certain level of attachment to them, but obviously not nearly as much attachment as some of you all do. PS: maybe I'll be joining y'all done day! Just not there yet.

Just watched the replay and the score is pretty deceiving to me. 1. Childers has got to get straightened out for us to have a shot the rest of the way. It looks like she is trying to overthrow and has lost her control. 2. This change in the rule for obstruction is complete bullshit. Christensen hosed a girl trying to steal second by three feet and the umpire, after adjusting his Aggie ring, called obstruction. It is ridiculous. There was no other way for Medford to field the throw. It is almost as if they are supposed to just let them have access to the base. I would love to hear the umpire's explanation, after he adjusts his Aggie ring, on how he expects us to defend that steal attempt. 3. That reversal led to their big inning and took a lot out of us. 4. Their homerun was basically a popup that the wind carried out. On the flip side, Gamble hit on off the wall, that if she elevated another ten feet, would have landed in Sanger. 5. We still seem to be a little passive at the plate. 6. We turned a beautiful 5-4-3 double play that they never showed a replay of. In the end, this game means nothing. Let's go sweep Memphis and finish out this season on a winning streak. Love watching these girls.

Played USF earlier in the year and lost a close match 3-4 so could be interesting. #12 seed UNT vs #5 seed USF. ECU was the #13 seed and the final score didn't show how close it had gotten. UNT won the doubles point and the first two singles matches in straight sets to go up 3-0, but the remaining matches went into the 3rd set and could have gone either way. Our #6 player pulled out a 6-4 third set to clinch the match, leaving 2 matches on the court still in the 3rd set. Good win for our young team. Hope it translates into some confidence tomorrow...they will need it! GMG

Sorry to hear that, you think IT would be one field that wont face layoffs these days but I guess no one is immune.

I can tell I have never been less excited about MG sports since the 1970's. NIL has killed it for me. Part of I enjoyed was watching the progress of he players develop.. I bought my season tickets for football but I am not sure about basketball this year. It just sucks to be one of the farm teams.

A lot of you guys still haven't learned.... Many times, dudes transferring from a High-Major/P5 to NT looking for more PT aren't nearly as good as dudes transferring from a Low-Major/FCS, or even D2.

WR Jordan Smart is in the portal. Wasn't that impressive last year but had experience.

I think Texas Monthly ranked them #2 in Texas last year. You should definitely go try it. It's definitely in my Top 5 I've ever had. They're still pretty new in the BBQ world. I want to say they only opened the storefront in 2019, but I could be wrong.

I'd add that they see it modeled that you move on when you have a "better opportunity" even if they're only at a school a year or two. It's what their coaches do, it's what the administrators at the schools do, etc. The days of coaches/ADs spending their entire career at just a few schools is pretty much over.

Yep. They want an NIL? I want a list of what players are being paid what amount and how their name, image or likeness is being used to earn these dollars. The fans give this money so we have a right to know. These kids entering the portal and signing elsewhere, I want to know what we offered/paid and what the new school is paying. Too much secrecy when the fan base is paying the salaries.
