  1. That Purdue tourney was awesome. That win against Wisconsin? Unbelievable. 41 points first 20 minutes 13 points next 11 0 final 9 I can’t believe that line. God bless these guys. They are tough as nails.

  3. We are in the NIT Final, after having beaten a Big XII team and a Big 10 team who “outrecruit” us. Grant brings in kids with heart, hustle, buy in (and, yes, talent) to play the way he needs them to play to WIN. I’ve never seen this program reach these heights, and I’m a believer in whatever direction Mac wants to take us (or Hodge if he’s the guy).

  7. I said it a few days ago in another thread. If we win this, I believe it's a bigger deal than the Purdue win. As accomplishments go, I feel like winning the NIT Championship and winning a Round of 64 game in the NCAA are roughly equal. I know beating Purdue was a top 20 win, but this would be five wins over quality opponents in a row, two over Power conference schools, one a true road game, and two at a neutral site. In a tournament with a storied history. Plus we'd get a nice trophy out of it.

  8. “What they are” is a team that just sent them home with tears in their eyes.

  9. Fran obviously meant the Big XII pulled its offer to Gonzaga, and now North Texas will join the conference as a basketball-only affiliate member. Duh.

  18. still can't get over the final defensive stand... Scott's HUGE swat of that ball and then Sissoko showing what the toughest team is by diving for the ball with no time on the clock as Wisconsin's dude is just standing there watching the game roll away (we're still in the 24 hour window to gloat on this one)

  19. I think a lot about what Coach Mac said of FAU, when talking about program continuity: that when we beat them at the end of last year, he could tell in the 2nd matchup this season, when they walked out on the court, that they had an attitude about them like, “you took something from us.” I hope we have that kind of hunger on Thursday. I actually think one of the bigger storylines going into this final is Aaron Scott. Dude was slaying it in the last matchup until he went out to get stitches. We lost him for appx 10 minutes of game time and MGRN have talked a couple times about that being the difference maker. Not getting down 22-2. It was not having Scott for 10 minutes that probably cost us the game. getting down by 20 didn’t help, tho

  20. I am petty. Give me Utah Valley. Again, I do not want to play UAB a fourth time. This feels like our Army overdose in football 2016-17. And I hate Jelly.

  21. Unbelievable win! So sports happy right now. Toughest team won. Way to grind em down after a rough start. Headed to Vegas tomorrow night! Not coming back without the hardware. GMG!

  22. …for what they are…. *checks D1 defensive rankings. Don’t have to look very long since “we are” the #1 friggin team in the country!* Agrees with the sad badger fan.

  23. What a game. I loved, loved, loved watching Wisconsin fans buttholes cinch up reeeeaaaaallllll tight in the final 4. It was polarizing. Just their smug thought of coming here and steamrolling ole UNT. And when things were ugly for us early their chuckling and fox grins... I loved watching arms start to cross and eyerolling commencing. We. Can. Be. A. Real. Basketball. School. 0 doubt.

  28. I know TP gets deservedly a lot of praise on this board, but Kai's play yesterday was unbelievable. He took over the game in multiple ways in the second half yesterday. locked down Hepburn and was heavily involved in the offense while playing 40 minutes next to TP. His progress throughout the year makes me dream of the missed opportunity of seeing him for a second year in this system.

  29. This team is insane! I was out celebrating my wife’s birthday so had to avoid all media for a couple hours. Had to DVR the game and just finished watching it. So, while all your heart rates are back to normal (maybe), I’m still bouncing off the walls. What a game. Toughest team wins!!! So proud of the way these guys never give up.

  31. What an insane game... Light the effing tower! How you hold a team scoreless for none minutes is beyond me. But as soon as that kid missed both free throws down the stretch I knew they were shaking too hard to make a bucket

  36. Sorry for the click bait, but I'm already rewatching the Wisconsin game. That layup but Sissoko around the 2:00 mark is just impressive but any measure, especially for a sophomore. This dude is rock solid and I'm predicting that he goes to the NBA when his career is over. I hope beyond all hope he finishes at UNT (with Mac🤞🏻) and brings the glory to himself and UNT. This is also based on more than this one game. His size and power in the lane is something we've rarely seen here and... HOT TAKE: HE'S BETTER THAN ABOU GO MEAN DAMN GREEN! WIN THE NIT!

  37. I agree with the bolded. UAB has some players who have a higher scoring ceiling when they are on, but they can get loose, sloppy, take bad shots and generally allow teams to hang around and outplay them for stretches. We are perfectly setup to be a foil to this UAB team. At some point not having Abou is going to hurt us - if for nothing more than numbers. I really thought that was yesterday while that first half was playing out. Fortunately, Sissoko was able to stay out of foul trouble and we eventually figured it out physically down low. I worry about Sissoko getting fouls on him and how we will back him up. If I'm UAB I'm trying to get him out of the game as quickly as possible and force us to go deeper into our bench early. The shocker of this tournament, for me, is the play of Sissoko. He's getting better every day and has gone from someone who was just contributing to someone making plays. He's got a bright future.

  38. Jelly Walker did this OVER and OVER and OVER again on us in Frisco---clearly purposefully, and the refs gave him the call at least 3 times in that game alone. To then see TP get called for it on a pretty innocuous kick-out was a slap in the face. I know the crews are different, but seeing the complete opposite calls being made in our games about 2 weeks apart really makes it stand out and infuriating.
