  1. @TheReal_jayD thanks for your continued hard work to build relationships and bring us the news. This has turned out to be a well balanced staff - I was uncertain for a time. Very good on paper for recruiting and I hope that we start to see the fruits of their labor.

  5. Didn't know he had been picked up by the Browns......but he's active today. 1 punt return for 10 yards.....so far.

  6. I think the benefit will be with those kids desiring to transfer back to the area; after they realize the grass was not greener. They generally reach out to a trusted adviser including their HS school coach. The relationships/credibility the coach has with Coach O and Gilbert hopefully will be the difference. These guys just need to hit on 2-3 big names and I think the perception will change that UNT is a viable options other than SMU, TCU or UTSA

  7. So, I’m assuming TCU’s defense “carried” him to 11 less interceptions and 350 more rushing yards…against better competition??

  8. Sure. But how does @SBEagle compare to @Deep Throte ?

  9. It appears that has been the only post from @SBEagle , who joined 2 days ago.

  10. Cannot wait for the day we see crowds like this again. That was a great day to be green. Crazy that was nearly 10 years ago🤯

  12. I think at a-lot of places the TE and OL work together more times than not. Especially in Indy as they are such an important part of Run game. They can get their skill work in during 1 on 1 or 7 on 7. At least that is what I've observed at the different college practices I've been able to attend.

  13. This might be the most entertaining game of the season at this point. Everything going off the rails

  14. We got 48 points between Kai, Eady, Jones, and Stone. What a breathe of fresh air, and we need. NEED this to continue/grow

  16. No. A friend of mine and I purchased 4 tickets but didn't go because of the weather. I am 80, and in the past 6 months have had Covid and a bad cold twice so I we bailed . I have been to every UNT bowl game except for the Myrtle Bowl and the Sun Bowl, which was before my time. Last year we went to both the Frisco Bowl featuring UTSA and the 'Other Bowl" with UNT vs Miami of Ohio. I had between two and 4 club seats since the opening of our stadium. However a combination of Covid concerns and old age forced me to give them up. I also gave up two floor seats at our basketball arena .I do, however, continue to financially support the Mean Green Club, and am very excited out our new Athletic Director's football coaching hire and feel like Morris is putting together a great staff. Go Eagles!

  17. I really like the Morris hire, and I am confident we will see improvement in both record and the absence of demoralizing blowout losses. With that said, why is having Texas Tech ties an intrinsically good thing? Yes, Tech has run a highly potent offense for a while now…with no conference titles or other big time hardware to speak of. All I’m saying is, I hope we don’t find ourselves setting offensive records and scoring 40 points a game only to give up 45.

  18. Maybe someone spiked my green Kool-Aid, but this hire of Morris feels really different than any of the other Head Coach hires I can remember. I mean completely different, the way the staff as been assembled, the Texas ties, the energy, the hunger I am feeling from them to win, the extra staff, the emphases on recruiting and more.

  19. I like this hire compared to some of the head scratching defensive hires.

  20. Jon Cooper was the center at OU during Todd Dodge's first game at UNT. Jon knows what a bad defense looks like and how to take advantage of it. The center is usually the QB of the OL. Do I wish he had a little bit more OL coaching experience? Yes Did the guy play center in college and the NFL? Yes While he was coaching OL at Western Carolina, they averaged 150 yards rushing and 320 yards passing a game. Also in the below link, it mentions his time working with Josh Heupel. Josh Heupel is one of the best offensive minds in football right now. If he worked under him, I imagine he learned quite a bit. https://catamountsports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/jon-cooper/1284 Not that my opinion matters, but I think this will end up being a good hire.

  26. Yeah, but I do this for the fans. Christian can get NIL when he dominates next year.

  27. You’re losing any credibility you may have had. I don’t know and don’t care what his stats were in the B12 title game, that was one of the greatest individual efforts you will ever see. Comparing him to Aune is possibly the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read on this forum and that’s really saying something.

  32. OK I'll bite. Littrell just did not inspire the alumni and the fan base. We climaxed after the Arkansas season and fake punt return and it just never clicked after that. Littrell was the highest paid coach in the conference and we received very little results in return against one of the softest schedules in the country. In big games, like the Mean Joe Greene statue event, Littrell always killed our fan building momentum. Plus he never spent time cultivating the fans. Part of the job of the head coach is to be an ambassador for the university.

  33. Time for a change. Bring back Karen Aston. She is at UTSA, we can steal her.

  34. Absolutely. I’m not concerned that he has more TE than OL position coach experience for that reason. That and playing the position himself.

  36. Ok, I'll bite. Morris is giving an all out focus on recruiting for less money, which allows reasignment of money on the staff. Plus SLfailed to get over the hump, and there is little reason to believe he would have gotten over it. Morris could be failure, but at least he gives hope that NT could get over the hump.

  38. This rule is a complete sham at this point. JT Daniels is heading to play at Rice this year. That’s his 4th school, and no he’s not going to sit out. USC in 2019, Georgia in 2020 and 2021, WVU in 2022, and Rice in 2023. Tanner Mordecai headed to Wisconsin after using his “sit out free” transfer at SMU. We are seeing it in basketball too. Umoja Gibson playing for DePaul this season after not needing to sit out at OU in 2020-2021 after he left UNT. Maybe it’s because they are grad transfers but it doesn’t really matter. Tons of guys are entering the transfer portal this year after already having utilized the sit-out-free transfer and they seem to be under the assumption that not having to sit out after a second transfer is a foregone conclusion. The NCAA is just not enforcing it.

  41. I have a hot take about baseball. We have enough of it and it's boring. I'm sure this will piss off some of the people that want a baseball program. Why not grow the current sports more? I bet the average baseball fan couldn't name the last few College WS champs.
    3 points
  42. I get that that’s probably annoying, but if you guys want this thing to be a rivalry, shouldn’t you want SMU fans to care enough to come talk shit? You’re free to do the same on our free message board. If you look at it with the proper perspective, it can be funny and add an element to what’s about to be a conference rivalry. We have done it quite a bit with TCU and UH fans. That’s just my opinion though.
