  1. Always the worst take. Lots of bird teams, but only one is allowed wings on their helmet? Cool.

  2. It's a pretty easy answer. Lose to Rice, fired. Lose to UTSA in the CCG, fired. If he beats UTSA he most likely stays. The only difficult choice would be if he beats UTSA, but then gets stomped again at a bowl game. That's going to be a really hard choice on the AD.

  3. Tennessee was a 3 td favorite over South Carolina so "most assuredly" might be an overstatement, one that I certainly have been guilty of. My best guess is that if we play and beat UTSA and win our bowl game we may not see the last of Littrell. It would be really hard to fire a coach who won the conference championship game against a ranked team, won a bowl game, and finished 9&5. Just saying.

  4. 109 years ago today, the North Texas State Normal football team took the field for the first time when they played TCU. It was a rainy day , and TCU shut out North Texas on a 13-0 final score. North Texas was coached by J.W. Pender and TCU was coached by Fred Cahoon. Here's to 5 fabulous seasons of UNT football!

  5. I’m all for SL staying, but getting curb stomped in another bowl? Time to move on. I hope this scenario does not happen, though. Win out! GMG!

  6. According to Google, which could certainly be wrong, Paul Quinn College has an enrollment of 424 students. I promise my freshman biology class was bigger than that.

  7. I personally prefer the green and white colors for our uniforms but if excites the team then wear them all you want. the one thing I do not like about the black jersey's is it hard to read the names on their back.

  8. Wren will have to take into account this season as a whole. Say we beat Rice.... We will have beaten only one (1) team this whole season with a winning record = WKU currently 7-5. We lost badly to three (3) teams, only Smut (6-5) has a winning record. UAB (5-6) and UNLV (4-7).

  11. Only 4 teams from CUSA would have been invited to the American. UNT, UTSA, UAB, and FAU. We could play an 8 game schedule while rotating through all the teams more frequently. (UNT, SMU, UTSA, Tulsa) (Tulane, UAB, Memphis, ECU) (FAU, USF, Navy, Temple) Play annually then you rotate the other 8 teams in the 5 remaining games. These annual teams would be regional type rivals. Schedule the other 5 games as home and home and we'd rotate through the entire conference no less than every 4 years.

  16. Well add a new recruit today but I think in general this staff is largely going to target transfers.

  17. We have greatly benefited from the elimination of divisions. With divisions we are already out of consideration for the conference championship.

  18. I doubt we lose to Rice, but if we do, & WKU takes care of business to reach the title game over us, we simply cannot wait. Prospective coaches will be watching, & if NT is not able to cough up the extra $250k or so in buyout, then they’ll be asking what kind of funding they might have. We have to be able to strike when the decision is made.

  19. I believe that the decision was likely made after the UAB game but I believe that Seth finishes the season because some players stayed to have a chance to get a bowl win. In the meantime the coaching search should be completed and the new coach might well have his staff decided by shortly after the end of the bowl game.

  21. I agree it would be hard to do, but I am not sure we win all of those games. So then what.

  22. Need to work on our team's overall shooting percentage and confidence. 16-46 FG won't win many games.

  23. And, am I the only one who has noticed that he has done this in his first year of coaching @ TCU? And(2) when Dykes was hired, was there a stampede of talent going out the door because the beloved Gary Patterson was no longer their coach? SO, it just goes to show that it doesn't take a competent coach 7+ years to have success at his new coaching job. And there are lots of other likable/lovable coaches out there.

  24. I don't like the trend of DJs rather than pep (or marching) bands playing, but it is definitely something more and more schools do and it ain't changing. I miss the pep band sound, but time moves on. I just hope it doesn't go away completely - because there's nothing quite like a good pep band at a basketball game.

  25. GMG Dallas- that is probably the best idea. I will not renew my season tickets next year and listen to the games on my transistor radio.

  26. I’m not getting too worked up about Saturdays attendance. There are maybe 5-10 schools in the country that could sell out or nearly sell out on the weekend after Thanksgiving. It’s just unlucky to get a home game then. No students are on campus….people are gone. Unless you’re Ohio St / Michigan, there aren’t a lot of people going to games this weekend….

  28. Do y'all not watch P5 football and high-major basketball games? There's music playing constantly. If you want light elevator music playing in the background so you can talk stocks, stay home. You want a big time atmosphere until you don't.

  29. Got the same and donated all of my tickets, 6, to a friend this morning since our Thanksgiving plans changed and I won't be in Denton.

  38. What's really embarrassing is CUSA is the only FBS conference that doesn't have their championship televised on a major network. All 9 other conferences play on ABC, Fox, CBS, or ESPN. Meanwhile, we're stuck playing Friday on a secondary sports network no one watches. Thank God we're almost out of here.

  39. The other CUSA Owls also have to with this weekend to be bowl eligible. When picking what to devour over Thanksgiving weekend, save room for rice.

  44. That’s an insult to my wife and my kids, not to mention my friends and family. I think you’ll find plenty of content that talked about RV, a male, being here for way too long as the AD. Yet he finally got fired for sucking at his job, rather obviously, but there was no pressure to protect him anymore. My belief is Judy McLeod hasn’t been fired because nobody in leadership is taking on the task of firing the first female commissioner. That’s a great way to get called out by the media and the university’s female leadership and faculty for being sexist. Never mind that she’s been terrible at her job for CUSA in almost everyone’s opinion. Believing this doesn’t make me think anyone who thinks differently has some kind of weird sex vibe. That’s rude and should be beneath you if you have any character.

  45. I have a bit of a soft spot for TCU since I grew up in the area, went to games as a kid, was a vendor there in my teen years, and my brother went there. But in general, I root against every Texas college football team that's not us. So if it's going to be someone, I'm fine with it being TCU.

  46. Outside our Green world many were saying the only reason we were invited was to have a team in the DFW area if SMU was to leave (I think many thought we would be going to the MWC). Maybe we should focus a little more on how we can step up our game and not question why others were invited.
