• The Roadrunners are 18-3 in C-USA games under third-year head coach Jeff Traylor. This is where SL should be in conference play7 points

I mean……just getting through the bye week is a huge accomplishment for a program like North Texas6 points

No thank you. I’d rather play AF in the Armed Forces Bowl and see it live at Amon G Carter Stadium.5 points

There were 15 bowls during the 1978 final season of Hayden Fry at NTSU. There are 43 bowl games today. So it's understandable that it's easier to make it Blue Plate Mayonnaise Bowl in 2022 than it was to be invited to a 1978 season bowl.5 points

As has been stated, Seth didn't turn down shit in regard to the KState job. In fact, it is obvious that not getting the KState job absolutely gutted him, and he has not been the same since, and does not want to be here.5 points

Put it another way….Traylor isn’t better than Littrell because Traylor's so great…..it’s because Littrell’s so mediocre3 points
-
You’re right. Traylor is overrrated (I sincerely believe that) and his record is not that impressive if you judge it the way some judge Littrell’s. Which makes the fact that he’s accomplished so much more than Littrell that much worse. He has an 11 win season Conference championship (about to be 2) Top 25 ranking this is his 3rd year? Littrell’s had 73 points

Absolutely this!!! I think some younger fans/alumni has ZERO clue how hard it was keep NTSU competitive with the entirety of College Football cheating like gang busters with MUCH deeper pockets than NTSU. But during that era this program was competitive in its conference so much that Fry took us independent to get better game and national respect. The landscape has DRASTICALLY changed post 2000 to the point startup programs like UTSA, South Alabama, FAU and Liberty can experience great success. Look at the list below. Some of these programs have raced past Seth during his tenure. Look at this list below. And please remember that 2 coaches at UAB have beaten Seth's team since they folded the program and came back. They aren't even included on this list below.3 points

Not by itself. A loss and he’s gone, IMO. He needs to finish the season strong. I hope we do. GMG!3 points

Christmas Eve would get a good amount of eyes on the team. Would be a nice experience for the guys. Removing my selfishness, good for them.3 points

And lose to a MAC team... Kudos to G Brint, that's the power of $400 a billable hour tax consulting right there!3 points

No. None of the things you have listed are enough to merit his return. Littrell has not progressed UNT's football program to a point deserving of any extension. There is an argument that he should have been let go after last season. After 6+ years as UNT's head coach, he is about a .500 coach, with the majority of his wins against losing programs. And while competing in C-USA (arguably the weakest conference in the FBS) Littrell has recorded no conference championships and no bowl wins. UNT now has more to offer a new coach. We need to set higher expectations as we move to the AAC, not hope our 6+ year project finally figures things out in a tougher conference.3 points

That is 100% false Portland State is Div I FCS team. I would go on to cite other errors in your post but this basic one egregious enough to invalidate the rest of it. FCS, Portland, State and that season ranked 10th team in all of FCS. Inexcusable absolutely but we’ve seen high-quality FCS teams beat FBS teams, even ranked FBS teams. And that’s why you have to exaggerate it, to make a point in defense of Seth.3 points

SMU has had a melt down since they played us; It would be a different game now if we played tomorrow. We have gotten much better and SMU has fallen apart. The team looks like they just quit last night against Tulane…we better start making up-grades to our roster and facilities now to compete in the AAC; can’t wait, will be very good for us in the long run!3 points

Ready for people to complain that this win shows they don't deserve to be in a top four but will the same people say the same thing about Michigan's close win?2 points

He's also 0-2 in bowl games. It's funny that any amount of success/wins we have had (not great, but we have had some) in C-USA is discounted as meaningless because anyone with a pulse can win against the worst conference in the country, but UTSA's success against that exact same competition is characterized as evidence of greatness or passing us by. We need some collective consistency in how we evaluate teams/coaches. I'm not defending our coach as the tread title implies, just throwing some facts out for everyone. Since it's a what have you done for me lately world, looking at the last 12 conference games, Traylor is 11-1 (lone loss is to Littrell) and SL is 10-2. Traylor (or rather his team) is manhandling Rice, so he will go to 12-1. If Seth (the team) is able to beat Rice next week, he will improved to 11-2 in conference play over the last year and a half. We also need to figure out how to judge the admittedly watered down bowl games where players sit out and the game itself is treated more like an exhibition or glorified scrimmage that's just a vacation/party/reward for the players.2 points
-
Worst case scenario for us, Rice has to beat us to go to a bowl and UTSA gets to rest their starters next week and prepare for us. If Seth loses to Rice at home he should be shown the door immediately after.2 points

Ummm, the local NFL team has a game late that afternoon also.2 points

What kind of question is this? If you're going to stake everything on one single game, why do you pick this game against Rice?2 points

So easy, in fact, you can have your biggest booster simply sponsor a bowl game right down the street to set up the easiest, slam dunk win possible. Oh, wait.2 points

I'm a step further than you, FWIW: I think the job was offered. I think it was a legit and convenient way to leverage SL's position and he could have chosen to go or stay. The whole thing about KSU wanting to dictate the assistants and that being the deal-breaker for SL...I'm not so sure. I have never ever heard of (until this) that a school wanted to dictate the assistant positions. NEW QUESTION (for anyone): did KSU try and pull that with the guy they actually hired, or was this something they only tried with SL?2 points

Hi Mrs Littrell, I know missing out on social hour at the Vaquero Club will be very devastating for you, but it’s way past time for you and your husband to kindly GTFO.2 points

please tell me you are trolling? Sure SL never has said a mean word about UNT, but he is making $2 million a year will little expectations, he has the best facilities of any UNT coach and yet he is batting .500, under .500 if you take out the FCS cupcake games. Ironic his 2 best seasons were with DMac Recruits. He has enjoyed a below average CUSA and still can not succeed. UNT deserves a coach who actually wants to be here, not with a foot out the door after Year 1, yes he was already looking, so don't spout UNT should be so grateful that SL "chose" to come here.2 points
