  1. UNT tied for 1st place in C-USA….

  2. So @Harry if there is a conspiracy shouldn't we expect you to say there is no conspiracy?

  3. I agree. 1 countdown for first basketball game. 1 countdown for Seth Littrell's last game.

  4. I cannot for the life of me figure out why Tampa threw Cole Beasley out there instead of putting those reps into Jaelon.

  5. That is correct. The diehards here are so beaten down by Seth Littrell we have a countdown 40 days out from basketball season

  6. Not positive, but I believe that it refers to the beginning of basketball season.

  7. Guys, someone asked for the countdown and we tried to make it happen just for the basketball forum. It wouldn't work. We have since removed it until close to game time. There was no conspiracy. Carry on and GMG.

  8. Most of the time I defend Aune but this week he flat out cost us the game. We should have won this one.

  9. Competitive football games come down to a handful of plays. We had three critical turnovers that cost us 21 points. Good teams don't make consequential mistakes like that. This team probably isn't as far off as many would suggest but we're nowhere good enough to make up for those kinds of mistakes. It was also very frustrating to watch our defense actually get off of the field on third down only for our offense to not come through.

  10. Maybe we get a forfeit, 2-0 in conference baby!

  11. If you have been watching Darden in the NFL, he is not really pulling his weight. Penalties and half ass energy. I am surprised he is still on the roster at all. I thought when Beasley got signed it was a sure practice squad placement for Darden.

  12. If this season continues to go south, we may have more people at The Pit for a nonconference game against a DII team than at Apogee after Thanksgiving.

  13. If he’s successful, then the team will likely succeed. He’s the QB, so I wish him success. If it was GG, then I’d wish the same. If it’s Ruder, same. You get the point. I also don’t have any ill will towards him. I just want to see us win on Saturday(s).

  14. Aune sucks. Period. I would rather see mistakes from someone else than do the same Aune bs.

  15. 🤦🏽‍♂️ why does this have to be stated? Well would be 75% completions at least. If you take out desperation time attempts late in game he gets up to maybe 65% very pedestrian when the defensive game plan of your opponent opted to force you to throw. But the actual completion percentage was 54.1%. Yet green kool aid drinkers are trying to convince themselves him hitting his career completion percentage for the game is a good game for him. The utter madness.

  22. Pretty nice deal for Family Weekend. 1 person can attend the volleyball game on Friday, football game on Saturday, and soccer game on Sunday for only $15. Hopefully we can at least get two wins? :') https://www.facebook.com/MeanGreenSports/posts/10161595042063943?__cft__[0]=AZWhNwqD1Bl8gbMwwROZxxkGzjr3O3eMqt1Pn21UAMGYPA3KwuKbYBXwsbOsRSMGqzEkzjv9OYVpaC3xcSp_YLNQYUsEkNpS4ABkdP_8kp-nScVleWeg-qy8E24qlXt12lrGUHxj9_7qOcSwdHlKt4gSTRHwicftS2yivANK1_5SXe72K2z7mRcz_9EBkndhBT0&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R

  29. I wouldn’t mind seeing Earle. He’s played the most recently. I think he’d also be the most game ready. In my head, he’d be the one able to catch up to game speed the quickest. I really don’t know, though. I jus want to see us win and maybe add some more excitement. GG would be fun to watch, but only with a legit week of practice with the starters…not garbage time. Same for JR. Maybe get Drummond in there, too.

  30. I don’t care if he succeeds personally. He should step down and help coach up the younger QB's. Looking at his stats he would be lucky to be invited to a USFL camp to tryout for QB. He has completion stats like he running the old school service academy triple option.

  31. Being late with the ball is his fault. 🙄 OMG dude is inaccurate what else do you need to see. More than half of Mean Green fans were shocked when he hit a couple of on time on target passes this game for a drive for a score. Like I said before in another thread put up to 50% of the blame on the receiver. But if you throw it to the open man on time who isn’t about get hit ribs crushed you drastically increase the chances of completing the ball and decrease the chances of interception via bobble balls.

  32. I don’t remember the first pick 6 (and this is not to crap on Aune), but he consistently puts our receivers in difficult situations. Even Maclins TD catch was underthrown…a better pass and the defender doesn’t even have a chance to make a play. He’s inconsistent right now. He’ll throw a brilliant pass, then follow it up with “if the pass were only two feet lower, Burns would have scored a TD” -1st quarter radio Hank I want him to succeed, but it’s tough to watch at times.

  33. Yet I've seen that catch made dozens of times... So maybe the WR just... Didn't handle it? Its ok to be down in a player. But its an illusion to blame him for other players faults

  34. Aune is not a good QB. Why do people keep trying to do mental gymnastics trying to prove that he is? When a team has to switch to a run dominant offense because of your limitations, being considered “good” flies out the window

  35. Bowls in and of themselves mean NOTHING!! ITS CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS. So many of you have been dumbed down. Cleverly seduced into accepting mediocrity.

  36. I am creating this thread because I know that somebody associated with UNT Football is reading it. It is my hope that this person will share some of the thoughts with the coaching staff because what we saw in Las Vegas was trash. I have no intention for anyone to use this thread to bash the coaches, request their firing, or tell them who to start at any position. I simply would like people to provide insight on areas to improve and offer solution that will put our player in better positions to highlight their talents. ex: Tips 1. Incorporate some running plays that forces defense lineman to run sideways. 2. Try throwing the ball to a WR in the Red Zone, it has worked well for us in previous years and it helps to keep the defense honest. 3. When the put eight and nine in the box, allow the QB to check to another play, that has a chance to work. 4. Our offensive line is not the Dallas Cowboy Line that Emmitt Smith had.

  38. Wait until the second pick 6 on 3rd down. The very next drive, he nearly throws another pick 6 on 3rd down but it's dropped. For the record, I don't think interceptions are necessarily the worst thing ever when pushing the ball down field if it was a 1-on-1 50/50 ball. You put the ball for the receiver to get it and trust them to make a play. Obviously if your receiver isn't winning those battles, stop throwing them deep but that's why we love a good gunslinger. Now, when it's a late deep ball, throw in double coverage, or late short pass like both pick 6s, I'm going to blame the QB. On the first pick 6, he knew the goal was to get first down and where the receivers were going but threw it late which allowed the defense to read the route and get involved with the ball in the air. Brings me to another Aune concern. He's consistently been the starter for over a season's worth of games. If his timing is off, that's a problem.

  41. A quality bowl you go into with less than 5 losses and win means something. It is on the plus side of mediocrity something to build upon if you in you first 3 years or rebuilding team after a senior laden team won a championship and graduated. Year 7 and you have a career record of 8 games over 0.500, I would keep a coach. He won’t be near that mark without running the table or just one loss the rest of the season. But yes by themselves a bowl before New Year Eve mean nothing.

  42. Truth of it is only 7 of those 21 points they earned on turnovers was completely Aune's fault. He did a reasonable job otherwise, in fact one of his better performance. WR juggling the ball was something they should be expected to catch. The cute fumble play was on team execution. I'm no Aune fan, but those were team failures not QB failures

  43. Clearly he is looking ahead and this is only a small part of the larger point of focusing on the moment, being where your feet are, and having ones head in the clouds. So far as constant questioning, this isn't the Yankees or the New York media, or Alabama, Arkansas, or UT media for that matter. No one his hounding him with "constant questioning of whether or not he will return to UNT." No one. Read the damn room. So twice now, he's talking about the NFL. This is not where the starting QB's head should be and I would expect a leader of this team, age be damned, to have a better understanding of the position they're in, the platform they are on and the message they're sending. There's a reason mantras like "We over Me" exist and why coaches talk about fighting for their culture everyday. It's why Saban talks of Belichick's "Do Your Job" (Period!) as the singular focus and responsibility of everyone on the staff from the head coach to the equipment manager, and the players, from the starters to the practice squad. It's the quintessential rat poison and lack of focus talked about by high performing teams and coaches every week that they seek, no fight, to avoid falling into. To use your word cockiness, I don't see cockiness, I see fantasizing about the future at the expense of focusing on the presence. As such, I see someone who is lost and needs to be reeled in and brought back to reality; the fact that this is where our starting quarterback is, age and experience considered, is nothing short of a flat out shame and disappointment.

  44. Anyone other than Aune....3 pick sixes in 2 weeks? Time to rotate new blood in there. Aune is a great dude but its time to move on to someone that can complete a pass

  45. It’s as if these useless bowl games for 6 win teams keep us patterned in mediocrity because we can’t fire our coach. Bowl game or not this year we need to make a change.

  46. Yes. Seth seemed very matter of fact like it was just another day at the office. He almost seemed upbeat? Hank was the worst though. After Seth’s interview Hank went on about how even though it was a lost we gained a ton of respect from the AAC for how good we played against Memphis on the road. 🤮 I realize Hank is a paid employee but for goodness sakes can we please ask a hard hitting question once in awhile? It’s as if Hank and Dave are unaware that Seth’s job is even on the line.
