  1. Great news guys! I almost beat a Ford Fiesta in a race! I blew a gasket about 100yds from the Whataburger parking lot, but by golly, I almost had him! What kind of celebratory milkshake should I get?

  2. Anyone other than Aune....3 pick sixes in 2 weeks? Time to rotate new blood in there. Aune is a great dude but its time to move on to someone that can complete a pass

  3. Holy.... I can't even with this coach being pleased we can play with another team in the FREAKING CONFERENCE WE ARE JOINING like it's a feat! Every week, G5 schools are taking down P5s and ranked teams, and we're here being happy we can play with teams at our own level. GTFO, Littrell.

  4. Yes. Seth seemed very matter of fact like it was just another day at the office. He almost seemed upbeat? Hank was the worst though. After Seth’s interview Hank went on about how even though it was a lost we gained a ton of respect from the AAC for how good we played against Memphis on the road. 🤮 I realize Hank is a paid employee but for goodness sakes can we please ask a hard hitting question once in awhile? It’s as if Hank and Dave are unaware that Seth’s job is even on the line.

  5. I was very annoyed with the comment of the broadcaster last week, when relaying what Aune said: "(Talking about his baseball career).....and when we caught up with him he said that 'now he wants to give the NFL a shot.'" Alright, having high goals is important, but having your mind in the right place and being where your feet are, is even more important to achieving the short-term goals necessary to reaching the big goals. This is fundamental stuff..... 29 years old.... pro athlete..... GOAL SETTING 101..... leadership? This showed me this dudes head is in the clouds, talking about the NFL (THE NFL!) leading up to a game in a season where you haven't produced enough to really even warrant being on the field as much as he has..... He wants "to give the NFL a shot" bro..... come on man.... what is going on in practice, the locker room, in those meetings, what's the message?!?!?!.... because we got guys talking about going to the NFL, when we can't even.... like..... my brain just stopped working trying to process some of this (stuff). We got issues.

  8. So the official team standpoint after this loss is we suck less

  9. The correct name for "moral victory" is "defeat." I cannot believe that this quote came from a head coach, and that the AD accepts it.

  10. Just think of the process we will make if we just lose by 8 pts this week. We will headed in the right direction for sure. Why do our conference mates seem to play the big boys well with the exception of us? Vito try asking SL that question? You can ask for a friend.

  11. Does anyone feel bad for Wren? I mean, he’s in a tough position. We aren’t a university with lots of big donors. So he has to preserve the relationships with the few we have. And he was handed a head football coach who was a friend of one of those few big donors we have. He has to be very careful how he handles the situation. He’s done such a good job with the other sports so I’d like to believe that he can do the same with football. I just don’t envy the position he’s in right now. It can’t be easy.

  14. Watching the game I was a little shocked that we were in it. The defense was playing more like what the fan base expected at the beginning of the year and was keeping it close. BUT when your QB barely throws over 50% completions and 2 of his 5 TD passes are to the other team (Center was responsible for the fumble with the poor snap)—that is difficult to overcome.

  17. There just comes a time (last December) when a program needs a new coaching voice and direction. It has become stale. Time to refresh and re-energize both the program and the fan base.

  18. That's the problem with 40+ bowl games. Let's go back to the 80s when a bowl game really meant something.

  19. I don’t really understand why a 10 point loss vs. a 6-6 AAC team is being considered such a big step forward. Hell, it was honestly a 17 point loss if you get rid of the garbage time TD at the end.

  20. It’s as if these useless bowl games for 6 win teams keep us patterned in mediocrity because we can’t fire our coach. Bowl game or not this year we need to make a change.

  21. It’s the same old pattern of mediocrity year after year after year.

  22. Still would like to see Earle and not sure why he’s not in the discussion. He supposedly was running right behind Aune up until the scrimmage according to the 247 guy and then they quickly slid Gunnell in. Haven’t been impressed with Gunnell. Do we know how hard he works/studies? Just thought there would be more development since HS with the ratings he had. Ruder didn’t impress last year and he really hasn’t seen any real live experience since playing against easy HS’s in Kansas. Earle completed a high percentage as recent as last year (yes I know at ACU, but his percentage was still high even against SMU). To my understanding, he’s the fastest QB in the room and has the strongest arm. High percentage with speed, and the strongest arm is something I’d like to see.

  23. I tried to give a crap about football again this year. Took two easily forgettable years off during covid and really convinced myself I missed it. The wife and I are expecting twins so I figured one good year of season tickets before they arrive would be smart… I don’t think there’s a reason to make another game. Glad Seth was encouraged today though.

  27. Why did I stay up all last night trying to convince myself we are not very good even though the empirical data - including Aunes stats -says otherwise? God, it’s hard to be a North Texas fan.

  28. Competitive football games come down to a handful of plays. We had three critical turnovers that cost us 21 points. Good teams don't make consequential mistakes like that. This team probably isn't as far off as many would suggest but we're nowhere good enough to make up for those kinds of mistakes. It was also very frustrating to watch our defense actually get off of the field on third down only for our offense to not come through.

  29. Most of the time I defend Aune but this week he flat out cost us the game. We should have won this one.

  30. Did you see Gunnell get into the game VS TSU? He was gimping around like he’s dealing with the same kind of “dropfoot” that Jaylon Smith had. Are we sure Gunnell is even the same player he was at Arizona?

  31. I grew up in El Paso and went to the Sun Bowl every year until about 1976. I some great bowl match ups and some great players. Saw Dorsett when Pits came to the Sun Bowl, Johnny Rogers when Neb was in the bowl as well as others. The teams that were invited were all very good with 8-3 or better records. The bowls are so water down now it is who cares. It is just something fill the space during the holidays. I mean 6-6 NT vs Miami of Ohio. Who outside the schools would watch that game.

  32. Gunnell came in here and immediately overtook Ruder and the others. Jace Ruder has more career INTs than Gunnell despite Gunnell having attempted over twice as many passes. Ruder also has over 10% lower completion percentage and has thrown 11 less TDs. I just don’t understand what people have seen from Ruder that still has them intrigued.

  33. Not sure why Vito thinks NT took a step forward, after a loss to a very beatable Memphis team. NT's goal has to be win, not beat the point spread. The oc is over, and it really hardly mattered, Littrell's fortune will be decided in the conference games. There are no powerhouses in the league, it should be wide open with almost every team having a chance. Memphis probably is as good as any league team.

  34. It was definitely a sellout, but since stadium operations decided to have a complete meltdown, it took until the second quarter before there weren't lines trying to get in. Then our incompetent concessions meant there were probably 5000 in line for food or beer at any one time. Then since it was 100 degrees and high noon, a bunch left at halftime. I saw two people in my section alone have to get medical assistance for heat issues. Given buying beer or water was almost impossible with 45 minute concession lines, and some stands were out of water by halftime, not surprising a bunch left early. All in all we had a great half-quarter of a full house. Game was a disappointment. Stadium management was an embarrassment.

  35. Hope everyone enjoy the non football part of your visit and am looking forward to playing y'all again soon. Would ask for one favor. DESTROY THAT GAME VIDEO AND NOT SHOW IT TO ANYONE. I swear your DC must have had someone in our huddle. What ever scheme he devised had us looking like a monkey fornicating with a football. Do not know what small signs y'all picked up in scouting but please don't share that information. This was easily Seth's worst game in his 15 games as a Tiger. Best of luck the rest of the season.

  42. Agreed. I am an alcoholic who has not had a drink since Christmas of 1988. Drinking just became a bad habit so I quit. The vast majority of alcoholics can't. However, from what I have read I think Sarkisian has a good chance, but it depends on how he reacts to pressure. I wish him well.
