  1. I didn't realize that 95.3 was a replacement for KNTU, not an addition. The college radio station should be broadcasting the college football game. That's just basic functionality.

  3. I just don’t feel like we are heading anywhere with Littrell. Just feels like we are treading water.

  4. Well said. I have a Radio, TV, & Film degree from UNT and we definitely learned how to match exposure and white balance the camera so the color temperature would match across all TV cameras. Steps involved 1. Set up camera and make sure it’s level on the tripod. 2. Clean the lens with a true lens cloth. Start in the center of the lens and in a circular motion work towards the outside of the lens. 3. Turn on all cameras and point them all at the big white logo at the 50 yd line. 4. Adjust the exposure levels so all camera match. Use the iris meter on the camera or in the TV truck to dial it in. 5. White-balance all cameras (Note, this will need to be done once before the game and once when the sun goes down, typically happens during a commercial break/halftime.) 6. Locate the pan and tilt knobs and loosen the friction a bit. Find the sweet-spot where the camera is supported but it still allows the camera op to pan and tilt smoothly. Why this entry level information is now not being taught to the camera ops or the TV truck is beyond me. Also we’re using TV camera equipment that is absolute booty cheeks for 2022-23. Yes we do need to upgrade to 4K cameras immediately. How we look on TV is important to recruits and fans. My guess is the TV camera equipment is from 2011 when Apogee opened. This is embarrassing.

  5. No. Absolutely not. Scott Frost has only had ONE winning season, though it was a VERY good one. The other 6 seasons he's been a head coach, he's had a losing record. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Frost#Head_coaching_record) The sample size is big now, he's not a head coach worth hiring. It's worth mentioning too, that the 2017 season likely wasn't even with his own recruits. Absolutely not interesting in Scott Frost.

  6. Even when we win ... and win big ... we gotta start a firing thread ... on Phil Bennett no less. This is a bit, right?

  7. We are really missing the Murphy twins. There were times where they took games over last year. Richards, Leota, Trieb can't fill their shoes. Really wish we could have held on to Kobe Savage who now starts for Kansas State. I know first hand Kobe would have stayed committed had we offered a teammate of his at Tyler JC who eventually signed at another FBS school. We signed 9 transfers, Only Maclin and Richards are getting regular playing time. Not sure about Neville and Gunnell plays a little I guess. You can't tell me we couldn't have offered the other kid to secure his commitment and get a good safety for the first time in Seths time here??? Dumb

  9. There were some obvious issues. But it was one game. If he can get those issues largely worked out before the next game, that is the mark of a good coach.

  10. Kevin Barbay. "Has spent time at Stephen F. Austin, Florida, Colorado State and Lamar during the last decade. He was the assistant head coach and wide receivers coach on Central Michigan head coach Jim McElwain's staff from 2019-20. He was the assistant head coach and wide receivers coach on Central Michigan head coach Jim McElwain's staff from 2019-20." I think he has been successful at every G5 stop and Florida. And I think he was at UNT for a while. And he helped make TAMU look silly today. How the hell did he end up at Ap State? He comes from a football family and just might want to get back to Texas.

  11. Going to Church this morning I noticed the Battle Flag, we call him Big Jim for it’s creator, was flying at half staff. I’m impressed that someone at the Athletic Department saw fit to honor those that died on 9-11 with this tribute. The Green Brigade had an excellent program commemorating 9-11 and was joined by the TSU band in the program finale. Good job. GO MEAN GREEN

  12. I thought you were going to say we should have scheduled a cupcake like aTm instead of TxSouthern.

  13. I was told no G5 team can compete without a NIL Collective that hands out Range Rovers and $50k a year to every player. I assume App State's NIL Collective is like top 5 right? Surely it's not the quality of coaching, recruiting, and play?

  15. No thanks. He has the exact same demeanor as SL. Arms constantly crossed. Pacing around. Minimal emotion. Constipated facial expression. Not a closing recruiter. We'd be basically hiring the same guy.

  16. The broadcast the athletic department put out last night to the world is the perfect representation of what this place is all about.

  17. Knowing your posts this is satire. Otherwise completely ignorant. We haven’t had a coach coach harder. I’m pissed too but he’s done a helluva job and will continue to do so.

  18. Yep. 95.3 has terrible reception in most of Dallas. Where do most UNT alums probably reside ? Dallas. This is a terrible oversight. In fact, it is shocking.

  19. Brett that was funny. I saw a lack luster team struggle at times and not cover the spread against a super bad FBS team. We suck bad. Everyone associated with the football program should be fired.

  21. It's crazy how huge Marshall and App State's NIL collective must be to beat top 10 FBS P5 teams. Right?? RIGHT????

  22. Ever stop to think “Quarterbacks can START at other programs before transferring here, or can leave here to start at other programs, maybe it’s not the players who are ‘washed up’”?

  23. Hire Briles and attendance will grow to 40,000…people protesting just outside of Apogee’s gates

  24. Anyone ever consider that part of the problem is that Texas Southern had a better starting quarterback than we did? Don’t let the stats fool you, 80% of Aune’s passing yards were RAC. Texas Southern’s QB threw a better ball. Now we definitely need better safeties as well (or at least one of them).

  25. Frankly I’m shocked at Gunnell’s arm strength. I don’t see the tight release with zip or much mobility. I guess I haven’t quite figured out all the ridiculous star ratings for recruiting.

  26. The App comparison reminds me. Sun Belt tends to not pay coaches so much they can't pull the trigger after two years.

  27. Kudos to the stadium ops team for how accurate and useful the the NE Video Board was tonight! At any point if I was confused which team we were playing I'd just glance at the waving flag banner graphic that was present almost the entire game. No need for stats or replays when you're as good as the Mean Green. Maybe we should just turn that board off for the FAU game in the name of eco-conservancy.

  28. Hell look at Appy State and Marshall beating the big boys easily, yet here we are with SL who sits 7 games under .500 against FBS teams, not even major P5 schools.

  29. This doesn't involve football, but I was at the women's soccer game against Texas Tech today and the videoboard didn't show any stats or replay or nothing. I just don't understand why these type of things happen when we have some really nice video boards that are basically useless

  30. My game day experience was great! There were 3 blue lot workers at 4:30, parking was easy, tailgate/kid area was great for the kids, alumni pavilion was a cool vibe, food was good, and UNT won. Looking forward to the next one! GMG!

  31. As I told my wife, most church broadcasts look better. I can understand a lens smudge on a high mounted unmanned camera in the end zone that you can’t reach during the game. But all of the cameras should be matched better. This wasn’t a game at the old Texas Stadium where the sun forced massive adjustments as you went down the field. Every camera plugged into the switch should be matched before the game. You point every camera at the same spot on the field and adjust the exposure, the pedestal, and the gamma - in that order. If you can’t make in broadcast adjustments, you don’t touch the pregame settings. The sideline camera might look a little off when not shooting the field that way, but will still be fine for most shots. No two cameras even looked close. You have a person dedicated to pregame set up. The was embarrassing for a school with a media art’s program.

  32. I assume you are taking into consideration, that the defense with a few exceptions is having to be rebuilt. The offense returns almost everyone. You could also make the case that the defense was horrible in the first half, but second half adjustments make by the defense turned the game around. My guess is that NT particularly on the defensive side thought this was a gimme game and they could dominate without a lot of effort. Give TSU some credit, they played hard and surprised NT in the first half.

  36. I'm an Aune hater so take this with a grain of salt but his play wasn't responsible for any of our sustained drives. The running game, as expected, was the key to the game which is why many of us were asking not to lean on the run game this evening. His stats look good because a few receivers had some big plays, especially the catch and run for 70 yards. Aune, once again, completed less than 60% of his passes against an inferior opponent. Does not bode well for the remainder of the season.

  37. We might legitimately have the worst safety combo in college football.

  38. Absolutely pathetic keeping the starters in. If one more person tells me that Seth cares about this program they can kiss my ass. As paid employees Seth and Wren care about is a paycheck they don't care about this program

  41. Wasn’t at the game yesterday, but Gunnell seems like a very washed up QB at this point. Don’t know what happened to him, but it’s obvious as to why he ended up here. He can’t play…

  42. When athletics is the main window to your university, you typically see this. Here, it’s two things: Music/Arts and being convenient/cheap. Not saying that’s wrong, but it certainly is a different approach to showing off your university to others.

  43. Yeah the deal w ESPN+ is that the production is done in house. We don’t need 4K cams but these are weak. This particular broadcast is approaching UTEP level

  44. At this point I'm pretty sure SL is hiding the other QBs because they are even worse despite all of them being on scholarship. It seems Aune is the best QB on the roster, and that is truly really f'ing sad.

  45. SL: Hey. Make Aune look better. Gunnell: Say no more fam.

  46. 100% with you. Aune handing off does absolutely no good to make us better for the rest of our season. All wasted snaps at this point. That’s on the head coach, period.
