  1. I think this is pretty good. A couple differences I have just from listening to Brune and John Fields’ breakdowns are: - Seems like Sifa Leota was the starting Devil this spring. - Gaddie was playing corner, and I think Whitlock was playing the EAGLE position as the 5th DB. And I believe Nick Nakwaasah was the other starting safety next to Crosby. - Jett Duncan got the most reps at Right Tackle in the spring. He is definitely good enough to play, just seems they are trying to find a spot for him and Right Tackle is the most open spot. But at 6’2” we’ll see if he can get it done at tackle. - Not sure whose spot he would take, but it really seems like Jay Maclin is going to be a starting receiver. Also, I keep seeing people spell his name “Gunnels.” It is Grant Gunnell. No “s” at the end.

  3. How does WKU merit 5 on the all tournament team after losing two games in the tournament? NT had three on the team. Who votes on this stuff?

  4. Well, it seems that Grant Gunnell was the BOOM! that Luke was posting about. He has a ton of potential and is something to shout about. In his somewhat limited experience he has an accuracy rating in the upper sixties which is what so many have been clamoring for. I'm also glad to have the 12th rated Division II transfer, 'A'Mazin Richards because I believe that he can hopefully compensate in part for the loss of graduates and transfers.

  5. Couldn’t agree more and wondering the same thing. WKY played two more games than we did. Maybe the committee forgot what they were watching and voting on? No idea? But Nunn couldn’t even make it out of the first inning yesterday with a single out for Christ sakes? This team started one Senior, two Juniors(including Peters), 5 Sophomores and two Freshmen. What they accomplished this season, AFTER losing Trautwine, then losing two other pitchers and having only two arms most of the season is incredible to me. Now a very young team gets to taste the next level with a coach that knows what he’s doing and sits on the opportunity to build a major force in this sport. I’ve always felt that due to our location we could become the next LaLa. Is it possible we are well on our way? it’s All Good And All Green(well, black uni’s for softball, but whatever works for now). Rick

  7. Just a great team to watch. Met the Rainey's, proud parents of the CUSA tournament MVP. Man, did they have a lot to celebrate. And so did everyone else at the Lace. Congrats, ladies! GMG

  9. I went through this exercise before I saw your team and came up with the exact same offense. More surprising was the defense was also close with only three differences despite me going with a 4 man front. Had Roach on dl, Thompson in place of Crosby and Nakwaash at a safety, no Kropp.

  11. Hope took the loss today (her first this year) in the finals and Oklahoma State won the Big 12. Love the fact that once again Texas nor OU won the championship

  14. All star teams should be based on performance not talent. My guess is that this team was selected before the championship game. The pitcher Nunn who made the all tournament team gave up 11 earned runs in 15 innings. I am not positive how softball era is computed, but that should be over a 7.00 era. They also had a player (Drinnon) that got 2 hits in 13 at bats. WKU also had players selected with tournament batting averages of two with .400 and one .300 chosen. NT had two hitters that hit over .500 that didn't make the all tournament team. Minor thing perhaps when compared with winning the tournament. However, I can think of no valid rationale for choosing 5 WKU players for the all tournament team. Particularly, when the championship team that run ruled WKU only had three despite having better stats.

  15. No. He’s the bar. Littrell is lucky he’s here.

  17. Yet, Seth the arrogant did not start Aune in the first game last year. Seth has started both Ruder and Bean over Aune. Aune ended up with the job because he performed better than anyone else at QB. Littrell has now signed 3 transfer QB's, which seems to me to indicate that he is desperately searching for a QB with a higher ceiling than Aune.

  18. Again Seth now has a major stud for a qb. A player that started in the PAC 12 as a true freshman and made freshman of the week! Gunn hits his averages we should win a lot of games and Seth will get an extension.

  19. I really hope Shorter stays healthy and has a break out season! Mc in the slot? If Gun can hit his stats this could be a very good team!

  20. It’s paramount to have expectations and goals. It’s also good to know when you have a good one and enjoy the good times. He might be the best DC to coach at UNT, which is saying something. We’ve had a rough patch since Skladany retired, though. It’s ok to have fun, no?

  21. Enough with the cliches and generalities. Offer lists can be deceiving (see Ruder) but they are usually accurate. His video is all over the internet so why not review it and give us your specific thoughts?

  23. The guy can run the ball. With an offensive line and decent receivers he should do well. We already have a running game and that should further make things better, a balanced attack that should really make for a good offense. Competition with the quarterbacks should further make things interesting. GO MEAN GREEN!!! WIN GAMES!!!

  24. Another very good round. Leads by one over Speith. Ortiz is also playing well but probably too far back to make a run but could easily finish in the top ten.

  28. Not sure which "kid" you have left out, but NT only has one ship to fill Recruits thus far: Eady, Huntsberry, Sissoko, and Martinec I think NT is in position to just take the best available, but I would like to see a high school signing.

  29. That says more about our abysmal history, not Seth Littrell as a HC. So far he’s just been a very mediocre head coach and if he were at a program with standards he wouldn’t be the HC Just facts Hope he turns it around this season

  30. In todays times, it may be better to pass on a talented freshman that’s ready to play right away. If they turn out to be really good, they’re in the portal in 2 years or less.

  31. @Brett VitoThis might be a good story to investigate. Maybe this is their way to say thank you to Western Kentucky for not leaving the conference. One more thing that makes CUSA and Judy look like a joke

  33. We can compare offer list all day but it is all speculation. There are many factors determining whether a player with all the physical tools and good highschool tape don't get offered by a particular P5 school. It is a crap shoot, especially at QB, on who pans out and who doesn't. If we were talking about any other position I would put more weight into the differences between P5 offer list. You can take 3 guys at any other position in the same class and they all get significant playing time or they could change positions easier and have an impact.

  34. Now pushing soccer and mbb as best program at NT. Amazing, considering all the injuries, not only the pitchers; but a lot of others that may have been good enough to start. This team is primarily sophomores, and should be a force the next couple of years. Keep team intact and add a couple of super-stars and watch out.

  35. He's got a strong arm, probably the strongest one of the bunch, and is at least as accurate as Aune on the deep ball. Still might take him a season to get up to speed though on the playbook.

  36. Holy shit Arizona's offense looked bad against USC. He was running for his life most of the video. There were a lot of check downs and quick throws that he was able to complete. I liked how he climbed the pocket and made a few throws as well. Man we have a weird QB room. I expect a few more to enter the portal or hang up their cleats by Christmas. Gunnell- 40 offers out of HS. Played for an FBS school already. Pro size and arm. Based on talent, he should be our day 1 starter. Aune- 30 years old but very average qb play. Great leadership skills and maturity. Questionable accuracy. Ruder- number 12 QB in his recruiting class and number 1 player from the state of KS. Very limited production on the FBS level. Head- backup at a conference rival, but threw for a TD against us. Average play against our conference mates. Stone- Starter at an FCS school but has played meaningful snaps (started a game against Virginia)

  37. His leadership quality has been mentioned and you can really see it on the field. For a guy his size, his presence in the pocket and running ability seem outstanding. On one play you see him really fighting for the first down. He looks very polished, to me, on his footwork and throwing motion. He may not open as the starter, but should be by the 3rd game and having Austin help him out would be a huge plus. I have never seen a UNT qb with his talent at his size. Stay healthy, this could be a program changing addition. GMG

  38. Agreed we should have a good WR class with Maclin, Bush, shorter, hopefully we see some Caleb Johnson. Hopefully our tackle transfer is a hit. I'd expect defensively to be close to the same. It has always been about QB. We lost multiple games last year because offensively inept

  41. I believe we have one scholarship left to give. Here would be a nice addition. https://247sports.com/player/mouhamadou-cisse-46127725/ I have a feeling we will sign a backcourt player to fill our last available slot.

  42. McBride, Wright, Simmons, JJ, and TB3. And we’ve only got: Dayton kid, NH kid, and D2 kid. By my calculations that leaves 2 more. I would like to see a wing that is a lights out 3pt shooter and/or defender (both in one would be ideal). And Finally, best available freshman.

  43. That should already be happening, but this is Denton.
