And not to mention that SMU has had years of practicing and experience with paying players9 points

Agreed. The loser will be stuck at the bottom of the conference standings for a month until conference play resumes. Not great for morale. We really need to set the tone for the season and take that game in El Paso.3 points

You just listed off 3 other D1 schools. Do you know any actual D2 schools that would destroy Hutchinson CC, or NW Mississippi CC? Because those two CCs (and several others) churn out tons of D1 talent every year.3 points

Looking at the 247 Transfer rankings, TCU is currently #9, SMU #13 and UNT #78 in the Nation. Very impressive for the 2 small private schools. Looks like SMU had a haul of 4 Star players from UT and Miss State over the weekend. TCU and SMU's NIL programs, have to be emulated by the Mean Green. What SMU has done as a non P5, is shocking, especially for a first time head coach and new staff. Sonny Dykes already has the formula at frogland. UNT better get their NIL program rolling.2 points

I just heard from the ENMU Head Coach Tye Hiatt. He was very warm and supportive. He said that Kason will join them this summer and have two years of eligibility. He said that they had high expectations! I am pleased. The Coach said he could help us get tickets for us to see him play. Good news for a good young man indeed. GMG2 points

Thanks, seems like a good player with low risk and high potential.2 points

From what I have heard from some people is that some of the players were told it would be best to enter the portal. Not sure if effort was not put forward or buy in was not there. But some of the players were told to look for other homes..2 points

You’d be very surprised at the number of schools who’ve won a national championship in basketball over the same time period.2 points

Looks like it was 4 D2. 16 from FCS, which is still considered D1. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-draft-picks-college-2022-georgia-texas/elqxrltcla0m98h4ijgtbjkw2 points

I'm fairly certain you are confusing D2 with FCS. I am reading 5 were chosen in the draft this year and that is a high number for D2. Possibly you are also including UFA’s?2 points

It's a Seth Littrell coached team. We can always count on them pulling an Amber Heard at some point in the season.2 points

One of the things about this season that makes it so unique to the SL era, is it is year 2 of the PB system. Year 1 to Year 2 generally tends to be a huge learning curve. This is where the athletes, after hopefully they have bought in, go I got it! and dig their heels into the ground and start to excel. I happen to think PB was the best hire SL has made. If one were to believe we have just one single reason for hope entering 2022, PB is it.2 points

Right. One is you pitching a fit about the boy bathrooms in Oregon, and one is the Vice President being afraid for his safety and the safety of democracy in America because his boss is trying to do some illegal power hold. The whole concept of you even being bothered by tampons is what's insane my dude.2 points

How far will they go? Here is Louisiana’s new fetal personhood bill—which House Republicans just voted out of committee 7–2—making abortion a crime of homicide “from the moment of fertilization” and allowing prosecutors to charge patients with murder.2 points

How far will they go!? Abortion bans pushed through both chambers of Oklahoma Legislature Ectopic pregnancies folks. Non-viable fetuses that will ultimately kill a woman unless removed...those fetuses deserve "protection" as well.2 points

Conversely you have to give at least a little grace for the difficulty of the schedule for the first half of the season if what you’re advocating is to hold true.1 point

two conference teams play each other in WK1 and you're worried about how it will look sitting below the rest of those 0-0ers. For a few weeks in which literally no one else in the CFB world - players and fans alike - are even looking at conference standings. ...think about what you're saying and maybe lighten up on the depressants.1 point

The farce is the biased CFP, college football playoff. A real, expanded playoff is needed with auto-bids for all conferences plus at-large entries. It's the reason March Madness is so fun = underdog victories. They happen every March.1 point

This time last year close followers of NT football saw a schedule that was going to be difficult in the first half of the season and a bit easier in the second half. Folks should keep that in mind when they see reports of how much the team improved during the season. I don't doubt the team improved, but don't overlook how the schedule played into that.1 point

While I agree with the BYU statement, to me, they are a major program. They get 70k for home games, play P5s at their place all the time, and have a huge national footprint. And I bet the Big 12 will do them really well in the years ahead.1 point

The UTEP game being moved to the first game of the season will be a ball buster for the loser. I see it as a toss up presently.1 point

Our schedule shows 8-9 wins, in my eyes. Somehow we will falter to crap teams, but there is no excuse to not be AT LEAST bowl eligible1 point

My whataboutism is the entire point of my posts in this thread. This guy gets his panties in a wad over tampons in a men's bathroom so i figured I'd entertain some more pressing issues. You can see how quickly he retreats to insults as soon as someone challenges his thinking.1 point

I do? I'm sure you can link everyone to all the new topics I've made on this board. Mind-blowing to someone of your inaptitude, but I really don't care. And I'm moving to Oregon in a few years. I really couldn't care. 1) junk science 2) embarrassing you keep referring to it like it has any respectability. 3) why are you so obsessed with how manly I am?1 point
-
Yeah totally not bothered, just gonna start up a new thread on my school's football board so everyone can pile on about America falling apart because of tampon dispensers. Embarrassing dude.1 point

I'm feminine? You're the one bothered by tampons dude. How fragile does that make your masculinity?1 point

La Tech's most egregious move, in my opinion, was to avoid playing in the Independence Bowl because the invited ULL to play in it and wanted them to play LT. LT rejected it as it was seen to be beneath them--very SMU of them. Unlike SMU, though, LT has no money. They lorded their conference standing and history over the SBC regional teams--which worked rather well right up to the time that the CUSA they joined was run by an absolute moron that can't be fired because she's the first female commissioner!! And then the SBC became much stronger than CUSA because of much stronger leadership and vision. Now, they are stuck in CUSA with Judy in the worst conference setup in the G5 for years to come.1 point

Yep. LA Tech made their own bed.1 point

Does this mean we would go in sooner? If so I'm good with it but all the more reason to get football squared away quickly!1 point
