  1. Just stopping by to say good luck! We know the challenge ahead of us and will consider ourselves lucky to come away with a W. Y’all have a really good team that is certainly well-coached. Here’s to a clean game with no injuries. God bless! wahoowa

  2. Oh no you don’t. You’re not gonna lull us to sleep with your niceties. We know this is a trap game and we’re not falling for it.

  3. These fans that stop by sure are making it difficult to stir up some dislike for our opponent. Honestly, I love this. Same sentiments from the classy Purdue fans last year. I hope opponent's fans say the same about us. Now, let's get it on!

  4. I love the cartoonist Bill McClanahan's 1948 scrappy eagle. It was the first time that North Texas was included with the "big boys" of college football and the winning teams caused us to quickly outgrow Eagle Stadium on campus where the Willis Library is now located. Here is a desk statuary of the McClanahan Eagle and the iconic 1960's NTSU bobblehead based on it, posted in front of the huge head of the Eagle that adorned Fouts Field stadium for decades.

  6. Everyone's invited, just bring a suitcase case of Bud or Bud Light (always support our sponsors) for yourself and to share with all your closest Mean Green brethren if you can. (NO GLASS CONTAINERS) If you can't bring beer, join us anyway, we should have plenty to share (21 and over) 2:30 PM on the Super Pit northeast exterior concourse corner by GATE A Let's get together and discuss this supposed basketball "rebuilding year" and how much fun it's been, today's game, and everything else in the Mean Green Sports World. These really are the best of times for North Texas. Every single sport seems to be annually in contention for post-season play. Let's celebrate what we have. GO MEAN GREEN! Get There Early! Wear Green! Be Very Loud!

  7. We don’t need him to put up 6 points and 6 boards. We need him to give us a solid 10 minutes and grab a couple boards and be a physical presence in the post. That’s all we need.

  9. An idea for you any of you guys that want to contribute a little to the gameday atmosphere... These green noodle things are available for only $1.25 each at the Dollar Tree stores(other dollar stores probably have them as well). They're a showy display of gameday mania, and the kids love them. Please go grab some for your group and get some extra ones to give away to the students. Thank you, and Go Mean Green! 10. Game day. Game faces on. I hope Mac got his players back into the right mentality. A win today would be huge for the BB program, GMG!!

  11. True. And, the other 75% probably don't know we have a basketball team.

  12. Too much lateral movement by Scott. Which makes it a 50/50 call. And let’s just assume that every 50/50 call will go Virginia’s way.

  15. Define production. You can be productive without filling the stat sheet. The thing with Wright is he was our second tallest guy with minutes and had a defensive presence in the paint at Washington. Our team significantly struggled on defense down low. We're ranked 228th in college D1 in blocks with 86 on the year. We have a guy ranked 6th all-time in blocks at Washington sitting on the bench who could fill a void we desperately need filled. I agree with you, we need another real big. We didn't have that this year and it showed when Ousmane was on the bench.

  16. I believe in leaving free markets to take care of things themselves….I also think companies should be left alone to make their own rules within reason….. So having said that: I agree with the professor that “micro aggressions” are garbage. I think he’s right. They are garbage. However I also agree that if a company doesn’t like how he handled himself, they can fire him. I don’t care that it’s a university or a private business. Treat them the same. The 1st amendment protects against being arrested for speech. Not losing your job. (Even though I don’t think he should’ve lost his job, the university can do what it wants. If you don’t like it don’t work there.) If I wrote a note on the bulletin board that my boss is an idiot it’s my right to say that…..but it doesn’t mean he can’t fire me. However what this highlights is a lack of consistency often shown by one side of the political spectrum and this side happens to dominate academia. If he wrote that same thing over a stack of Trump for President flyers he would be celebrated and not fired.

  25. More likely that Virginia is a nationally recognized program from the ACC that won a National Championship recently and folks are putting money on them.

  26. Is it just me, or did y’all not see how Wright was 2 steps behind on defense? He had an entire season to learn and contribute. Grant and Ross knew they needed him from a depth perspective, but if he allows 10 on defense and only scores 4 on offense, it’s better to have TB3 miss 4 free throws and keep it on the positive side otherwise. Wright had to be missing seriously in basketball IQ or fundamental skills.

  29. Thanks NT80. I've thought about having it repaired with the neck feathers for a man-cave decoration, but it really should be in the athletics collection, or even in a Denton sports bar. I just don't want it ever want it thrown out by people that don't recognize it's significance. This was the image that tens of thousands had of North Texas sports for decades. It's one of the few North Texas collectible I own that wasn't a surprise gift from the Bride.

  34. I believe these graphics. Unlike a bowl game, none of our tickets have been pre-sold to several ticket brokers. There is literally ZERO reasons for us to show a ticket as unavailable when it could be sold. I swear, the battered person syndrome of our fan base where we refuse to believe good things is astounding.

  38. The "going gets tough " comment is inappropriate . The Board of The University of Alabama controls the purse strings to UAB, and never supported their establishment of a football program. A few years ago Bear Bryant's son became chairman of the U of A Board and under his leadership eliminated Blazer football due to budgetary concerns. The biggest sticking point was their use of Legion Field, part of which was condemned as unsafe to use by the city. [My son is a UAB graduate and Legion Field made Foutts Field look like Jerry World]. At any rate , the UAB Administration got up in arms and with support of the Birmingham business community and the city itself, they were able have the U of A Board reverse its previous decision .By then Bear Jr had rolled off the U of A Board and UAB had a beautiful new stadium . {I think the city of Birmingham actually owns the stadium but am not sure. My son and I are attending the UNT/UAB game in October in order to see the new stadium] Regarding La. Tech being a classier act, they snubbed their noses at ULL and ULM, and even refused to play Monroe in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport about a decade ago. As a result, when the Sun Belt recently expanded their spokesperson said that the Belt already had two teams in Louisiana and a third would be redundant. Pay back can be a real bitch.
