Watching the bowl games, I realize how generic our offense has become. SL is supposed to be a great OC, but I see a lack of creativity in our offense. No motion, no misdirection, etc. We have a stable full of RB's yet never run a two back set. Based on recruiting profiles, we have a deep TE room, yet we rarely utilize them outside of Pirtle. I would expect much more out of SL's offenses than what we have seen. Just a thought.8 points

When I board a plane or bump into people wearing North Texas gear we exchange “Go Mean Greens” and move about our business with good vibes. Classic. GMG8 points

GO MEAN GREEN. Even non-athletic inclined North Texas folk recognize and respond to this well known phrase. GO MEAN GEEEN See ?8 points

“Roll Tide” and “Fight On” aren’t all that creative…but they seem to be working for years and years now. Why do we always feel like we need to change things??7 points

One other thought fro today's game. Loved Jones attacking the rim. He had two ESPN Top 10 worthy drives. One finish with a reverse lay in and the other right down the lane finishing with his left hand. Would love to see more of that from him. Perry, Jones, Scott, Osumane all return next year. Never thought I would say this, but I am going to miss JJ. He is incredible doing the dirty work. Comes up with loose balls, plays great defense and rebounds like he is a half a foot taller. Big fan of what he does every game.6 points

< 2,500 on the announced attendance. Yikes. They need to start marketing the heck out of this team.6 points

El Paso Eagle asks if Seth would still be considered a P5 coordinator if he hit the open market. Wag Tag shows his offensive production here last year when he was OC NT80 comes in by discrediting Seth’s aptitude as an overall HC, when Wag Tag was putting in perspective relevant material for his potential market as an OC.6 points

We have one of the most uniquely appropriate and memorable tags in all college sports and it is extraordinarily recognizable and associated with North Texas. Thank the Good Lord we possess legal ownership of it as well ! GO MEAN GREEN !5 points

I mean is Boomer Sooner or Woo Pig that much better? What about Go Pokes? Go Dawgs? Geaux Tigers? Is that better than Go Mean Green? I like our saying.5 points

On the surface, yes it is simple. But it is one of the few things absolutely ingrained in our lacking fan culture. If you see another NT fan in public you’d say “Go Mean Green” just like any longhorn fan would say Hook Em.5 points

Losing at home to Miami-Ohio by two TDs (who had not beat an FBS OOC opponent in 13 years), is not excelling at coaching football. A 37-38 record in 6 seasons is not excelling at coaching football.5 points

Outrageous early prediction: If Littrell is left alone, UNT will win 9 to 11 games next year. His overall record will be 46 to 48 wins and 41 or 42 losses. Some P5 schools will take a long look at him and try to hire him away. You can tell me how stupid I was a year from now.4 points

The post is referring to offense. I’m sure the last place ranked D had nothing to do with it. Again nice pivot attempt.4 points

With the weak schedule 7-8 should be a minimum. People will overlook how weak the schedule is and think Seth has turned it around. We will head to the AAC and get drilled.4 points

My troll radar is redlining. We have a rising population of posters that are intentionally riling people up, because they feel like boiling frustration and divisiveness is the best path towards pressuring our AD. I want a new coach as much as anyone, but the second I feel like one of my fellow Mean Green fans uses in-fighting and division to manipulate people and/or situations, I will block you. I have to stomach that every new voting cycle. I do not have to stomach it here. Fast forward a few, either months or years, and I think board admins are going to have to make some tough (or not tough?) decisions.4 points

I've repeatedly tried to reason with you about this, but it appears you just want to continue pounding it because you want to be frustrated. Learn to let go of things you can't control, life is much better and you'll be healthier for it.3 points

I bet less than 5% of this board could tell you which team won the college baseball championship last year. Put the resources where they move the needle. We have club baseball if you want to watch some UNT baseball, otherwise you can watch the Rangers, Roughriders, or your local high school or CC team any time you like. https://recsports.unt.edu/sportclubs/baseball3 points

My thoughts: •Stone was out with apparent Covid. •Aaron Scott, even though he makes me mad sometimes, has so much hustle and grit. He is going to be really good, and needs this year to develop. •Offensive struggles still seem to be a problem, and with UAB as our next opponent, that can’t happen at all or they’ll whip us. •We outrebounded Rice by 20+ and to be honest it should’ve been more. That Rice team is really bad, I say LSU Alexandria played better. •Abou is getting so much better inside the paint and defensively, it makes me smile. So physical at times. •Hameir Wright just lost his spot, and Scott is better anyway. Once Mac sets a lineup and rotation, it’s not changing lol •This team can beat anyone in this conference by double digits, if they keep playing at this rate. •TYLOR PERRY IS THAT DUDE!!3 points

I wouldn't keep dwelling on it. How would a Buffalo win have benefited us at this point? Would we be any higher in conference standings? No. Would we get T25 consideration? Maybe. If/when we are talking about postseason seeding/positioning, it could be fun to play "what if". But don't get hung up on it.3 points

I don’t think it was that. More the chop blocks that are a part of their scheme. Plus it puts your defense out of whack when you are trying to build consistency and continuity.3 points

1. He would never accept being the OC here. 2. Fuente is not the answer. 3. Patterson will never coach anywhere else.3 points

Put that lens on anything and you get the same feeling: "Sic'm...Bears" for Bears? "Hook'm Horns" for Longhorns? All pretty straightforward and not complicated.3 points

Actually, the phrase became so popular that the nickname became more used than our mascot.3 points

Before today I actually thought Rice was one of the few teams, outside of UAB/La Tech/WKU, that had enough firepower to score against our defense and keep up with us. Our defense and effort is so high-level that the majority of CUSA teams just don’t stand much of a chance against this team.3 points

I know that about Bennett, I was teasing. Dickey didn’t do the black thing until he was already fired. Littrell was wearing black as early as the 2016 HOD bowl and maybe earlier than that. Find something else to be angry about. It isn’t what you thought.3 points
