In an alternate universe Todd Dodge leaves all his SLC coaches behind, hires a legitimate college coaching staff and has wild amounts of success at North Texas.12 points

Regardless of win/loss record. He had a hand in getting us Apogee so I am grateful to him for that. He also brought us Lance Dunbar, Antonio Johnson, Mason Y’Barbo, Zach Orr, Brandin Byrd, Will Wright, Brelan Chancellor, and the other DT. He didn’t get it done on the field but did make a positive impact on the program in a roundabout way.11 points

Assuming nothing changes, are there any special Covid protocols required for the game?? Vaccine card? Mask? MAGA hat? Empty Ivermectin tube? Anything?10 points

You don’t keep SL for 2022 because you accept 6-6, you do it because you have reason to believe the current version of the team will win 8-10 games. Get better play at the QB position and we win 10-12. Y’all don’t believe the team that won 5 I a row is much different from the team that was losing. I get it. The competition was not good. But I saw a team that found itself and clearly looked more physical, and not just because the losing teams were lesser. I see confidence and identity that wasn’t there before.9 points

Littrell has definitely earned being here next year, but a new contract would be a terrible error. Littrell has I believe 2 years left on his contract. He should and will be evaluated after next season. I see absolutely nothing to be gained by NT increasing Littrell compensation and I doubt Littrell would accept less. Increasing the buyout on his contract, would be the only NT benefit. If Littrell has a great next season, than he can be rewarded either here or by another team. There is a great chance for NT to be very good in 2022.9 points

It is not unreasonable to want to see this winning streak continue. We're not even calling for his contract to be extended. Just to see how 2022 plays out.8 points

Just got news that the Tulsa game was cancelled. Makes me wonder if the bowl game could be next. I feel like people are freaking out because others are. I hate this!7 points

Look CMJ, i know you really want to be there for every game, and we all appreciate your dedication to the program... but for you to call the game off due to your unavailability is a little extreme. Signed, golfin7 points

Are you really trying to discount the UTSA win because it was raining? Holy S...are you serious?7 points

if you think Seth did the same thing over and over again this season and didn’t change game plans, you weren’t paying attention. The point so many are making is that Seth seemed to learn something and this program may benefit from Seth’s growth as a coach. The premise is that he is not the same coach that started the season. He’s gotten better and showed potential to keep getting better.7 points

I posted this the first week of December. Will do it again because it appears we have people determined to not consider learned excellence: No one is suggesting that a T25 win = SL has an awesome team in 2021! We are only acknowledging evidence that SL actually learned something and 2022 could be what we expect: a team that contends for a title.7 points

From a coaching point of view this is truly Seth’s finest year. Getting Bennett out of retirement, changing the offense to a run based and maybe most importantly convincing a very YOUNG team not to give up. The story book ending would be winning the bowl game. This will be the most stacked team going into next year that I have seen If he improves the qb play next year will be really special. GMG7 points

Phil didn’t transition us to a top 5rushing offense, but I agree the defense was a huge improvement this year. Kudos to Littrell for bringing Bennett on board.6 points

Our tailgate team is part of this pregame party. There has been a lot of planning as to how we are going to feed and drink 5000 people. Lets just say I think the "group of alumni cooking" are going to pull it off. As for us, we are going to have a "Western Son Vodka bloody mary bar" Free to all until we run out of course, and we have a sh** ton of vodka. As well as our usual bbq in expanded quantities. I would love to metaphorically leave Frisco in ashes. GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!!!6 points

Phil Bennett. Enough said.6 points

Not sure why you and others want to downplay the wins. I get that FIU and SoMiss were terrible teams but the Rice win was solid and UTEP and UTSA were good wins. Both had solid defenses as well. Said this before but we can’t demand to beat winning teams and then poo-poo those wins with qualifiers. It’s almost like you wish we had lost so Seth would be gone.6 points

Obviously, some of the Wichita fans and maybe administration are not aware enough to look at the program, that they have scheduled for a buy win game. Anyone scheduling a McCasland NT team should be fully aware of what they are going to get. Smaller program reference is not exactly accurate when comparing NT and Wichita State, an university that does not even have a football team. Some fun stats: Enrollment: Witcita St 2021 16,069 UNT 2021 42,372 Metro area: population: Witcita ks 452,000 DFW 7,600.000 State of Kansas 3,000,000 City population: City of Witcita 398,556 Denton 147,957 Just thought our future conference mate's fan should be more aware of who they are referring to as smaller program.6 points

Just checking the Toyota Stadium and various ticket re-sellers (Monday 3:20), there aren't too many seats left. On the "press box" side, there are some left in section 101 and 102 which is end zone and beyond and some in section 104 which is about the 20. On the other side, some seats in section 126, appx 40 yd line and section 129, 20 yd line and section 130, about the 10. I'm hoping most of these seats are covered by green clad bottoms come Thursday. GO MEAN GREEN5 points

Harrell should get another shot & if he’s not hired as a P5 OC sometime soon, I really hope NT can convince him to stop down for a season & at least collect a paycheck, plus pick up some Veer-&-Shoot offense ideas to incorporate into his Air Raid.5 points

Pot meet kettle. "Littrell can't beat winning programs." *UNT beats undefeated, ranked UTSA* "Well it was raining so that win doesn't count."5 points

Down ten players? That still has to be better than when they showed up with the intramural squad they had in Denton... That wasn't a real college football team, right?5 points

With the late season run, he will be back for next year, but to blindly call him a perfect fit is indicative of the small time thinking that still remains in Denton.5 points

He saw the dry ass brisket that Lincoln Riley smoked and was like nope. I can’t trust a guy that tweets this out and claims it’s not dry.5 points

Some seem to think Bennett fail out of the sky. He is only here because of his relationship with Littrell.4 points

This is an opinion and based on your own subjective expectations. Your “truth” does not mirror the truth of the majority. Most of us are in wait and see mode. Most of us wrote Seth off for dead in mid-October; then he did something beyond what most of us thought was reasonably possible. One more season to see where this momentum goes does little to no harm. Blowing it all up prematurely has the potential to do tremendous harm.4 points

I had a friend at Pauline G. Hughes Middle School in Burleson who used to punch his friends in the nards unexpectedly. One minute you're walking to Texas History class and the next you're doubled over with cartoon birds circling your head, wondering if you'll have to adopt. How Jon Papajon remained our friend I will never know. But he's my role model when it comes to UTSA.4 points

Bennett’s maturity, experience, and presence had a positive effect on this “whole” team and Littrell. Don’t think for a minute it didn’t.4 points

Have you ever taken an almost dead mouse away from a cat that has been playing with it and torturing it rather than quickly killing it and eating it? The cat gets real annoyed with you and bitches and moans incessantly until you either give it back or get rid of it out of the cats sight. This is kind of what is going on. SL is the mouse, but instead of someone snatching him away from the sadistic cat, he gets away by his own behavior (he finally figured out how to get away). Which In this case, is the five game winning streak. But the bitching and moaning is still happening. From my experience, the "old Denton" would be reluctant to fire a coach, while the "new Denton" seems to like to change coaches almost every year. And the weather conditions for the UTSA game were not pouring rain. It was cool to cold and drizzling. Perfectly miserable conditions if you are used to "climate control", but still manageable. SL has never been a head coach before taking the job at NT. Could it be that he is finally figuring it out? OR, could it be that he was lucky enough to have PB agree to be on staff and providing him that which has been missing for most of his 6 year tenure.4 points

Oh no! I'd hate to see a ton of weirdly personal and esoteric skirmishes break out among the message board crowd. Unheard of and possibly something we'd never come back from.4 points

I was there, in the cold, wind, and rain the entire game. We dominated them in “all three phases”. Maybe they gave up towards the end but we pounced on them early and never let them come up for air. Maybe we watched different games. There was a time where a win like that would’ve excited this fanbase. I guess that, like me, is just OldDenton.4 points

Right. I think a lot of people poo-poo on Coach Ford’s offense, but if there was any semblance of a defense, his offense was more than fine. I think Meager’s SMU game & Vizza’s #’s were proof of that.4 points

Man...this returning topic is a beat down. REALITY...Seth will be here next year. IMO Wren has already made that decision....look at the AAC announcement. For those who want a new HFC may I suggest loosening those purse strings and donate wads of cash to the Atheltic Department to ensure You have Wren's ear.4 points

He adapted to the strengths of the team. That’s what good coaches do. With the way the season turned around, SL may be the guy. The D has turned the corner. The next QB coach needs to be good one. The talent is here for a strong 22 season. The Mean Green are trending up, but it needs to be enough for next year and leading into the AAC. Bowl game is big. Make a statement in Frisco, pick up some transfers/JUCO’s in February, and this team I will be fun to watch in the Fall.4 points

There is no previous version of Littrell. He is what he is. One win over UTSA at Apogee in the pouring rain doesn't mean he has finally figured out anything. And I'm not interested in punishing anyone. I just want a better coach at UNT. I'm sick and tired of watching our team under preform year after year. Littrell has had his chance. .500 isn't good enough. I'm ready to build for the American. The bigger risk is hanging on to Littrell in hopes that he has figured out how to be a better coach. We can't afford to throw away another season under Seth.4 points

"It was about the worst possible way for the Shockers (8-3) to snap their 14-game winning streak at Koch Arena, as their 52 points was the fewest total scored in a home nonconference game in more than two decades — since December 18, 2000, to be exact, in a 68-51 loss to Hampton during Mark Turgeon’s first season in Wichita. WSU is 64-4 at Koch Arena against nonconference opponents in the last 11 seasons." https://www.kansas.com/sports/college/wichita-state/article256708887.html4 points
