I think I’ve put more effort into finding our games streaming than SL has put into coaching since 2018.

For me, it the end of the 1st quarter wave to the children's hospital at Iowa.

Even if by some Stroke of Luck La Tech started playing terrible and we made a comeback it would be because they played bad not because we're good. This is a terrible North Texas team. Under Seth leadership we are digressing

I went to both of UNT’s games there. Both game and tailgating experiences were amazing. I hope in my lifetime I see a similar tailgating/game experience. The hospital was completed for the second game. It was special to see the kids in the windows waving back at an entire stadium that was waving at them. We tailgated with a group. They told me that many tailgate groups raise money and donate to the children’s hospital at the end of the season. The group we were with stated they came in first the year before and donated over $10,000. The yellow punch was Hawkeye Gold. The green was Mean Green punch. The green was better. 😉

Just saw a glaring example of it on GameDay. Winning when we were in the sunbelt, no. Winning 9 games no. Starting undefeated (like we did in 2018) yes...that moves the needle. And UNT starting that way is better than UTSA starting that way. It's about perception. And you may say "who cares what ESPN thinks" that is very naïve. Perception is everything. Case in point: Bear (the resident gambling/analytics guy) has the UTSA/Memphis game on his board as one to pay attention to. As they were talking about how the MWC is actually better than the AAC right now and asking if Fresno St is actually better than Cincy, they talked G5. Then Bear said "one of the best teams in G5 right now is UTSA" and he's taking them over Memphis who is favored by 3. He talked about their win at Illinois (that they never trailed in). So right there.....UTSA is getting national attention for their on field product. Their challenge though is exactly what we talk about when questioning why they're getting mentioned for conference realignment so much. The hosts then joked: "can anyone name their mascot without looking" Horribly embarrassing if you're a UTSA fan. They were joking about no one knowing who they are. That wouldn't happen with us if we would just win. WE ACTUALLY HAVE A HISTORY AND WOUDN'T BE AN UNKOWN.....IF WE CAN JUST WIN.

Respectfully disagree. It’s not the lack of recruits. It’s been said before, but it seems as though it’s been tough for SL to find replacements for the coaches poached for P5’s.

This team is hard to watch

I canceled my trip earlier this week. It’s not that I don’t care for the team or the players, but with the performance of this coaching staff and the lack of preparedness I couldn’t justify a 4 hour trip

Is that a good thing? Guess we’ll know by right around the end of the first quarter

Coastal Carolina is ranked #16 in the nation in our OLD conference. They have been playing at the fbs level for 5 years. Conference is not the problem. Football is the problem and it doesn’t matter how many G5 conferences we run to, nothing will change unless the football does. We are turning into the perpetual divorcée who constantly looks for greener grass while never choosing to look within. Change for change sake. What if our next marriage is even worse than the present one? If we were kicking ass against CUSA already then I would be all for it but we aren’t taking care of business as is and I do not see how playing (potentially) better teams changes that.

I get the money aspect. Just getting rid of SL will not make this team better but I think it would send a message to the team, fans, and donors that we are serious about doing something. I think if we wait, it will make it worse.

Enough people on here parroting this line that you'd think UTSA is some world beating, top 10 ranked football program. They went 7-5 last year folks and a combined 22-38 the five years before that. Tap the damn brakes.
