My dream situation is us going 13-0, Ruder has conference POTY, Isaiah Johnson with 1,500 yards/bowl MVP, and Murphy bros get 8+ sacks each. Aim higher, my friend. Because why not North Texas?10 points

He threw for 163, 2 TD, no INT’s Had 53 yards rushing…the rest of the team had 30 total. Not winning any Heismans, but there is ZERO else going on with that offense.6 points

My dream situation would be for Ruder to look elite and for Aune to look improved. That way Ruder locks into the starting position, but Aune is more than capable to step in if Ruder is injured. You have to have a good backup with experience these days. All you have to do is look at the recent drop off when Mason Fine when down.5 points

It's the "Aune will also play" part that gets to me. I don't want to see anything like what we did last year again. I feel confident saying that any QB on our roster would look pretty good against NW St. On the flip side we have a challenging 6 game run right after this that I believe will cause some bad moments for whoever we have out there, if this turns into Littrell pulling the QB every time they make a mistake again it's going to be another long year. Stick with a guy and let him learn from his mistakes without the fear of sitting the rest of the game.5 points

Carson Camp had an up and down game...but he showed way more poise in the pocket with a lot more decisiveness than Bean did, just comparing QB to QB. And apparently he's only a Freshman. Not trying to hate on Bean, but he showed off his happy feat(it was late sue me) feet once again. To be fair, Bean was basically KU's offense and that is on KU, not Bean. I think Bean got better as the game went on too. Interested to follow his KU journey.5 points

Good stuff. I like being able to see an easy away game. I can stumble to an Uber and head home just up the DNT.5 points

I am betting we have as many fans there as the number of people who show up. Take that to the bank.4 points

Pretty bad that Bean had more talent around him at North Texas, then he does at Big 12 Kansas. I know that Kansas is a FB graveyard. But, they still have 3 times the North Texas athletic budget. No excuses for them to struggle against FCS teams like they do. I can only dream of North Texas having a $121k athletic budget. Feel bad for Jason. It's going to be a long year. Enjoy this FCS win tonight, because there may not be another one this year.4 points

"SMU will never let UNT in the AAC" sounds a lot like "Texas A&M will never let Texas in the SEC." Why do we assume that when the rubber hits the road, SMU has any power to stop anything that its conference wants?4 points
-
Really?? Once the Big12 supposedly takes Houston, Cincy & UCF from the AAC, you'd have the following: Houston, TX Tech, TCU, Baylor, OKSt, KSSt, KS, IASt, WVA, Cincy, UCF, & BYU VS SMU, Memphis, Navy, USF, Tulane, Tulsa, Temple & East Carolina Now that it's spelled out, do you still think the AAC would be a better conference than the Big12?4 points

I highly recommend FUBOTV, you get the broadcast ESPNs plus it gives you access to use the ESPN app for ESPN3. Just use FUBO as your tv provider when you log in. I also subscribed to ESPN+ because …..football season.3 points

I was excited for tailgating and the game also. Then this week I tested positive for COVID-19. So minus 1 for attendance. My son, daughter in law, her father and brother will use my tickets, and my grandsons will be there. GMG!!!3 points

Yeah, I'd think the conservative side of any predictions given the current state of the pandemic and a "no name" opponent. Looking forward to watching the game here in LA though. GMG3 points

Good throw by Bean to end the half. Only a 37 yd drive though. Pretty brutal football overall.3 points

I didn't ask about UNT. I asked about SMU. What makes you think the rest of the AAC is giving SMU the power to veto the invitation of any other school? It's not like your school is an AAC juggernaut. Your conference record is 42-48. When you were invited out of CUSA, you were a small fish in that pond. Your record in the conference was 43-67 (39%). Ours is 45-54 (45%). Your average attendance in your final CUSA season was 21,800. Our average attendance in 2019 was 21,300. As for TV, in 2019 your game against Memphis set a new primetime ratings low for ABC's college football broadcasts. Your enrollment is 11,000. Ours is 40,000. You have 45,000 alumni in DFW and 117,000 overall. We have 434,000 and 294,000 in DFW. When SMU got the invite to the AAC, there's no criteria I'm seeing where it looked better than UNT does today. SMU does spend $30 million a year more now than UNT on athletics, because you're so well-endowed. But you're not getting any better performance than us! Which is what I always said going back to my college days. It's not the size; it's how you use it.3 points

Hey man things can change. Cincy is like a top 8 team this season and we know Houston has been high up there before too under Hermans. UCF won a national championship (ok maybe not legitimately but still a good program) and BYU has always had a national profile. This is not a terrible league in the least.3 points

I see that Orlando is the biggest TV market without a pro team? So is Houston smaller than Orlando, I don't think Houston has a pro team right now.😉 I hear Judy put out a new memo for CUSA members: She is studying the changing conferences and will get back to them when she figures it out. Fire Judy now!2 points

When SUMG was doing stand-up, he once introduced me to Bill Engval at a Dallas comedy club in the 90’s. I have a DVD of John “SUMG” McDowell when he was featured at an LA comedy club. The show that night was televised on the A&E Network & the guest host was Ed Asner who passed a few days ago. John had them rolling in the aisles that night. 🦅2 points

Hmm. I'd love to have been in the meeting where this was discussed. "We have <X> Season Ticket holder accounts. We need to think about what we're going to give them as thank you gifts." - "Hey, let's order <X-1,000> blankets." "Why would we order 1,000 less blankets than the number of accounts?" - "Because, F'em!" "Done! Next agenda item: Which items should we replace in the team store so we can buy more blankets and charge the rest of our season ticket holders for them?"2 points

We used to be in the old MVC together, and look at Cincy now. Kind of reminds me of that scene from the 1960 film "Inherit the Wind" when Matthew Brady (Fredrick March) and Henry Drummond (Spencer Tracy) and sitting on a porch rocking and talking about their relationship..... Matthew Harrison Brady : Why is it, my old friend, that you've moved so far away from me? Henry Drummond : All motion is relative, Matt. Maybe it's you who've moved away by standing still.2 points
