  1. Have to start with 3 NT first round draft picks, in consecutive years Joe Greene Cedrick Hardman Leonard Dunlap Add Booger Kennedy and Ron Shanklin honorable mention Eric Pegrim imo the best rb I have ever seen at NT, didn't have numbers because he played on very bad teams Mason Fine Walter Chapman - His stats were unbelivable for a nose guard Steve Ramsey - Numbers don't compare to Fine only because he played a lot less games Glen Holloway - One of the best ever offensive linemen NT Jaelon Darden - All American which probably should be in top 5

  10. Good takes. Mason had great stats, but you could argue, based on QB play at the time, Steve Ramsey was a better player. He lead the the teams to a 22-6-1. From the UNT site - By the end of his college career, Ramsey had been named to the MVC All-Conference team three times and owned NCAA passing records for most total offense yards, most touchdowns responsible for, most points responsible for, most completions, most passing yards, most touchdown passes, most pass attempts, most touchdown passes by a passer-receiver combination (30 with Ron Shanklin), and the most single-game yards per completion (a stunning 33.3 yards per completion against Cincinnati in 1968).Ramsey still ranks second all-time at North Texas in career passing yards (7,076), first in career 300-yard passing games (six) and first in career touchdown passes (69), and he owns the third, fourth, fifth, seventh, eighth, and ninth longest pass plays in school history. Most impressively, Ramsey's career win-loss record is 22-6-1. Ramsey was drafted in 1970 by the New Orleans Saints and played seven years in the NFL, six with Denver.

  15. Brandon Kennedy definitely on that list and Patrick Cobbs deserves to be considered, Lance Dunbar as well.

  18. You start paying the players, they become employees. They will soon unionize, and follow up with a strike. This will happen. how do you determine the pay rate? You talk about UT. This type of situation represents a small percentage of the total number of schools with football. How is Tarleton State, or even Texas State supposed to compete? How do they parcel out the pay? What about golfers….do they get paid? How do they get paid? Golf does not generate money for that? do JC’s also pay? Your not looking at the total picture.

  27. BEWARE OF THOSE NW STATE DEMONS! 👹 (I will be wearing a green crucifix & a homemade necklace of green-dyed garlic on September 4, 2021). 🦅Anyone remember when those Northwestern🟪State🟨Demons visited TCU & beat the Gary Patterson-coached Horned Frogs? I thought Patterson would not escape an old fashioned tar & feathering that weekend. 🦅 Remember when those Demons last visited Fouts Field & came away with a late 4’th quarter win over our favorite school’s football team? 🦅•••I could not find videos on either game. Maybe you can? 🦅••• NW State has a good college marching band program. Hope they come to UNT Band Day on 9-4-21! 🦅••• NW State has a superb (older) stadium on their Natchitoches, Louisiana, campus. 📽🎞The hit movie “Steele Magnolias” was filmed throughout Natchitoches & with an all star cast. ❇️🦅❇️

  29. Their defense got shredded constantly, like us, the past 2 years. I really don't think it'll be close

  30. True, looking at UT as a typical program is ludicrous. Most college programs lose millions on sports subtracting the student fees that support most of them.

  31. Also of note, NWS looks weak based on first glance at their covid limited 2020 schedule but if you look closer they had very few games in total and appeared to play close in every single game they played. This could be tougher than we think.

  35. Welcome to the site. They have some edge players with potential but not a lot that are proven. That said they are always looking for guys with your size that have wheels. I'm no coach, but I'd say it's worth a shot or maybe at least a phone call or email to Luke Walerius the Director of Operations on staff. If it doesn't work out you won't have any regrets cause you gave it your best shot. Best of luck to you and Go Mean Green.

  36. She did not pick OU for the graduate school I guarantee you that. She’s going there to play softball. It says more about our “HOF” that we would have a player in there at the top of her game chose to play somewhere else instead of building something for the next generation. It’s her decision wish her luck, but I’m not going to sit here and be overjoyed because I’m pretty sure during the season she was being contacted and that doesn’t portray a player that was “all in” when her teammates needed her to be.

  37. I started to make the comment..."of course we have to play @ WKU". Then I decided to look up the history between the programs to see how lopsided the schedule has been through the years and discovered something pretty interesting. We have played WKU 21 times, 7 at home, 7 in Bowling Green and 7 at a neutral site.

  41. I'll get a lot of pushback for this, but here goes. For a lot of people, all is right in the universe when the University of Texas is dominating college football, particularly regarding the Big 12. The natural order of things is askew when the likes of Baylor or Iowa St. are winning and representing in a New Years Day bowl. When it comes to college football and the Big 12, it should always come down to Texas and maybe OU. That said, there is no question that UNT should be the Texas of CUSA. Oh sure, La Tech or maybe S. Miss can make occasional noise, but our beloved university should routinely be at the top every year in football and basketball. No other school can match our academics, facilities, location and leadership. Therefore, I hereby proclaim the University of North Texas as the flagship university of CUSA. Thanks to Dr. Smastrick (sp), Wren Baker and the BOR, we are well on the way. Shout out to Grant McCasland for what he has accomplished since his arrival. The best is yet to come! Now if Seth can raise our game, and quickly, we will have arrived. Then, it's on to bigger and better digs! OK, fire away. GO MEAN GREEN!

  43. Transfers are alright if they are incoming and evil incarnate if they are leaving. The NCAA, I believe, has come to the conclusion that if athletes start suing them for unfair restriction of movement; they will lose. They lost the NIL case, and are probably aware the court is going to back individual rights to the absolute detriment of competition. The one time transfer without penalty is another rule to appease the players and courts. Athletes are not any difference than then they have been for decades. There have always been a great number that were recruited with illegal benefits. Now it is just within the rules. There are only a handful of colleges that actually make money on college football. The majority of athletics are funded by student tuition and fees. I can see a student revolt coming when they realize some of these players are becoming very wealthy from NIL deals and any pretense of being amateurs is gone.

  44. I agree that the SEC doesn't need Texas, but the SEC would take Texas before they could even finish the question, especially if it's a TX-OU combo.

  45. As regards football, despite having the highest paid football coach in CUSA, our football program is sandwiched between UTSA, Texas State, Rice, and UTEP. I have had Club Hub season ticket tickets with White parking from the get go and decided this year to punt. I have followed North Texas football since my freshman year 1961 and will continue to root for them but from afar.
