  2. All I knows is I got 3 bottles of scotch ready for this Saturday Friday?. One cheap one, one expensive one, and one that may or may not be filled with the remnants leftover from last seasons games. One to drink when he gets drafted One to throw at the TV after he doesn't The last I was going to drink anyways

  3. I am not asking for a back and forth, I am just curious about what policies Biden has endorsed, rolled out, or proposed that you are happy with? Look, I think Trump was a thin-skinned blowhard 99% of the time and didn't like that he didn't disavow conspiracy loonies, but I also agreed with a number of his policies that were enacted to take care of our country first.

  4. I am happy we have a president who's not getting so triggered by what people say about him and going to twitter to vent about it like a tween who got turned down by her crush. 25,000+ tweets over four years. That is an outrageously unhealthy amount of screen time for anyone, let alone the freaking president. I am curious what direction the Republican party goes in. If they can restore some honor with a respectable candidate they could easily win back people like myself whos beliefs lean more Republican but were completely turned off by the Qanon takeover. That Psyop has turned a lot of people I had great respect for in to complete nutjobs. And it was birthed in an online forum where like minded frustrated incels gathered, just crazy the impact it's had on the average joe who leans republican and has a facebook account. At least people on both sides seem to be a little more civil now.

  6. First two paragraphs: So you are happy we have a President that doesn't post on Twitter. I would agree although Biden has gotten "so triggered" in public events that he has called people names, challenged them to Festivus style feats of strength and threaten to take someone out back and whip them. Nothing about policy? Qanon did not take over the entire Republican Party just like "The Squad" hasn't taken over the entire Democratic Party although the Biden and the Dems just introduced a government heavy/socialists style agenda. So, back to my original question, what about Biden's approach, outside of his lack of Twitter activity, is satisfying to you?

  7. Is Reece going to be a grad transfer? I could have sworn he just walked by me in a cap and gown at the UNT graduation revisting this an hour later - it was him! He did graduate, per his Instagram.

  8. Definitely Jones but I wanted both. Jones is a more well-rounded PG and we’d get him for potentially four years. I was hoping we’d get both because I really like Perry as a shooter/scorer and 6th man type, not as high on him running the show. I’m sure he’ll be solid though. He and Rubin Jones theoretically make a good combo, because Jones is probably a better distributor and has size to make up for Perry’s lack of size. Having them both on the court could be a 1a, 1b type ball handling situation, where both can make plays but both can also catch and shoot off the ball effectively.

  11. Not bad. Also the fact that this is what he’s producing as a 22-year old playing almost exclusively 18-20 year olds at the JUCO level is pretty indicative that he was not CUSA caliber and wasn’t going to be. Hope the JUCO exposure allows him to find a good school where he can play.

  19. I honestly couldn't tell you because once he was sworn in I told myself I would stop giving politics any of my time I've muted most of it from my timeline on twitter. Admittedly there have been a few things that have made me shake my head but I don't know enough. So I am the wrong one to ask if he's done a good or bad job because I have gone back to not caring about politics again more or less as I did before 2016. I respect that, I really do. I am Texan born and raised I lean more right than left but like I said I'm waiting to see what direction the party goes in. Sorry If I steered this topic in the wrong direction please don't suspend me I'm done lol.

  20. I’m so glad he is imprisoned and I really hope that we can critical consider police reforms to prevent this from continuing to happen. I do not know what a ‘president’ is, and I don’t plan on finding out in this thread.

  29. OK, good. Because it really seemed like you were trying to insinuate that >17% of all police officers are murderous racists just waiting for their opportunity... especially with your last sarcastic dig around "a few bad apples" (Which, people often leave out the last part of the metaphor: A few bad apples spoil the whole bunch. It seems the "few bad apple" police officers are doing their part keep the metaphor very much so true). If you were indeed trying to hint that about police, I doubt you're the only one who thinks this way. That, thanks to another point you made: "news" readily available on facebook and gab and twitter at their disposal 24 hours a day." People have their favorite news sources, and they can all tell the same story in about 45 different ways. It is a necessary evil of our society. In my opinion, people need to learn/re-learn how to think critically so they can parse through all of the poisoned information to come to a grounded conclusion. I'm not sure what you meant about Indiana St. or accountants.

  31. Not trying to understand how or why they bought into the big lie, I see. My comments stand. FOLLOW-UP: I feel like we're going down different paths. You seem focused on the criminal act in front of us, and I'm trying to talk about how it got to that point. All the Trumpers I've talked to...guess what? They're actually extremely intelligent, well-read individuals. Not at all dumb and gullible. Next time you talk to one, try to understand them. Ask them for 2 or 3 sources. that's all I'm saying.

  32. We need to stop this kind of language, IMO. "You're dumb and gullible" falls right into the fighting/labeling that 1) keeps us divided and, thus 2) amplifies the power/wealth of our leaders. Would rather us try and understand how we go to this place. Having said that, I see there are people that have given up on unity and only interested in burying the other side.

  36. Serious answer...and one that I actually think should be universally accepted by all sides in this debate...: police do too much. we criminalize our problems and then have asked police to fix/regulate everything wrong in society and some/lots/most they do not have legitimate training for. Police are not medical experts. Police are not mental health experts. Police are not domestic or substance abuse counselors. The message of “Defund the Police” (bad branding, for sure) is that the money we have continually poured into our policing and legal systems could be better allocated across a broader array of services that will actually better people and society.
