  1. rvs do have some reserved spots in certain areas of green grass....be wary of that. the spot golfinggomez highlighted is fine on the left, but the grassy area may be reserved for rvs.

  4. Once you are set up that first game, wander around (shouldn't be hard from your handle here on the board) and mingle with some of the other tailgates. I am certain you will have new UNT friends that ARE football fans within about an hour.

  5. We need to stop this kind of language, IMO. "You're dumb and gullible" falls right into the fighting/labeling that 1) keeps us divided and, thus 2) amplifies the power/wealth of our leaders. Would rather us try and understand how we go to this place. Having said that, I see there are people that have given up on unity and only interested in burying the other side.

  10. Mohamed was a JUCO guy. I'm talking about HS guys. And yeah, I know mistakes are made. I don't expect McCasland to hit 100% on all of his HS guys. I do hope he would do better than just 1 high school guy (Simmons, who was committed under Benford) lasting longer than 2 seasons. I would be happy with Jackson and Wise if they felt comfortable continuing to work hard and improve their play. I think it's fair to expect a Freshman to improve over time, and I thought Jackson played pretty well for a Freshman/Sophomore. It's just tough to compare him to Javion when he's the backup. And there are absolutely times where it's better to grab a more polished JUCO/transfer guy like Javion & Deng to plug immediate holes. But even with as good as Rubin Jones and Abou Ousmane were last year, I expect them to improve as well... I just hope they don't walk away too.

  12. Not trying to understand how or why they bought into the big lie, I see. My comments stand. FOLLOW-UP: I feel like we're going down different paths. You seem focused on the criminal act in front of us, and I'm trying to talk about how it got to that point. All the Trumpers I've talked to...guess what? They're actually extremely intelligent, well-read individuals. Not at all dumb and gullible. Next time you talk to one, try to understand them. Ask them for 2 or 3 sources. that's all I'm saying.

  13. Wait... huh? I didn't know about this: https://acusports.com/news/2011/7/18/MBB_0718113941.aspx ... oddly enough, under current Mean Green Deputy AD, Jared Mosley. Because, according to his Mean Green Sports profile (https://meangreensports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/grant-mccasland/264), there's no mention of ACU: "Prior to Arkansas State, McCasland spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Baylor, helping lead the Bears to NCAA Tournament appearances in 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016. The Bears also won their first-ever postseason title in program history in 2013, capturing the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) championship. Before Baylor, he spent two seasons as the head coach at Midwestern State and led the program to back-to-back Elite Eight appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament."

  20. "There's good players out there," he continued. "There's going to be good players a week from now. There's going to be good players a month from now. Transfer portal is nuts. The JUCO route, the high school kids—we're all navigating this and trying to figure this out." Over the course of the three years Terry was at the helm, the program saw 18 players enter the transfer portal. The new coaching staff will prioritize retention to establish continuity within the roster, despite the ever-growing transfer portal. "Retention is a big deal," Golding stated. "Look at North Texas. I've studied Grant (McCasland). He had the job at ACU, left for Baylor and I got the job, so we go way back. Grant's retained a lot of that roster. That's why they've won. Western Kentucky has retained some and that's why they've won. I don't subscribe to the idea that you're going to lose 10 guys to the portal. Yeah, the portal has changed. Yes, kids are going to leave. 22. Actually, he did. That was the article I linked: https://acusports.com/news/2011/7/18/MBB_0718113941.aspx Although he didn't coach any GAMES, he was ACU's Head Coach for 3 months.

  23. It is true, Mosley is one of the biggest reasons Gmac is here. It is also the reason Benford wasn't instantly let go because Grant was the target right away. Mosley was also the reason ACU hired Golding. That move took awhile to show returns, impressive that ACU stuck with him to let him build things up.

  24. Within two weeks, four Fresno State women’s basketball players have transferred to different programs. Seniors Aly Gamez and Maddi Utti and sophomores Brooke Walling and Kendyll Kinzer announced they found new homes for the upcoming season. Gamez announced on April 7 that she will be attending Conference USA member school, North Texas. The school is just 36 miles away from her hometown of Irving, Texas. “We are bringing another star guard back home,” North Texas head coach Jalie Mitchell said in a news release. “Aly’s winning mentality and dedication to the game, as well as her exceptional court vision, clutch play and championship experience take us another step closer to postseason success. She has an excellent feel for the game. We are thrilled that she chose UNT to complete an outstanding collegiate career.” read more: https://collegian.csufresno.edu/2021/04/four-fresno-state-womens-basketball-players-transfer-to-different-teams/#.YId6OqFOmVM

  29. UAB doing so bad is surprising. They and Charlotte are the main favorites. Wouldn't be surprised if they start clawing back shots in rounds 2 and 3. NT playing very solid so far, fairly even as a team. The important part is to stay in the top 4 by the end of round three. The champion is decided through match play among those top 4 (which is different from the women's tournament)

  31. "Placing" players at a JUCO was an old practice and typically done with HS players coaches thought could benefit from the PT. The most famous for us was Spud Webb, who Blakely placed at Odessa College. The dumbass Tommy Newman, that followed Blakely, didn't want Webb and the rest is history. Webb went to NC State and the NBA, Newman went 24-60 from '83 to '86 and then back to high school.

  32. The action at Capital Hill was,in their mind, for this very reason. Its interesting how the last 5-10 years we have seen both sides acting in against each other, but both believing they are the true patriots. probably another discussion for another day, but the people in power (political, financial) IMO know that dividing the population - keeping us fighting - is the fuel to their power. For the most part, they are doing this very very successfully. I don’t find any of our leaders to be unifying. Biden may come across as kind but I don’t think that is the same thing. In fact, many on the right seem to find him repulsive. this is walking into the political arena. Clocking out for now.

  34. Boy, the NCAA really cracks down on these trouble makers. These things would be funny if not for the fact the large P5 programs can basically get away with anything In charges UTEP acknowledged, the NCAA found offensive and defensive quality control staffers provided instruction during practice, which is against NCAA rules. https://footballscoop.com/news/utep-dana-dimel-hit-with-ncaa-penalties/

  35. In spite of your denial, there is a lot of generalization in your statement. Nothing is always ALL. Most perhaps, but not all. I am a huge fan of Denzel Washington and for good reason. Not only is he a great actor, I believe he has the answer to societies ill's. Society. Not just black or white or brown or yellow. Again, I hope this doesn't get deleted or banned, but these gentlemen make the case much better than I ever could. God Bless you.

  38. As long as he meets the Army's Ht/ Wt program or can tape out according to Army specifications he would be a go . In my 37+ years in the Army I've seen officers and enlisted who were very large individuals but taped out because it wasn't all body fat......muscle. Course they still have to pass the Army Physical Fitness Test for their age group and gender.

  39. you act all high and mighty like your conference, recruting and status in the college football world is so much better then ours. Its not. you are part of the G5 just like the rest of us. We can and do battle for the same level of recruits. This is why people hate SMU. The "we are more holier then thou" attitude you all carry is beyond ridiculous.
