I have not logged in for a long long time, yet I have been reading this forum since it started. Following the ones prior to that actually. I dont post very often yet this one is truly an amazing accomplishment. This is the first of its kind in NCAA history .. not just C-USA, not just for North Texas. Definitely read the ESPN story along with others. North Texas has been in the public a lot this year .... and this is a fantastic example as to why.

Hope joins Gio Vizza/Casey Fitzgerald as permanent members of the NCAA Record Book; their records can't be broken.

He's one of a fairly long line of Euless Trinity football players from the Leota family, some of whom have gone on to success playing at the college level; I only wish him the best in Denton. The tape reminds of the 3 man rush Trinity had from the Steve Lineweaver days, and he seems to fit the mold of some pretty good linebackers they had. I hope he can get some good weight on. Always glad to see a Euless Trinity guy heading up the road to UNT.

This is a pretty amazing feat, I don't care what level or who you are playing.

Can we talk about how subdued everyone on the team was in the video? They acted like she struck out a batter to end the first inning, not to cap off a 21 K perfect game. It's truly bizarre.

A buddy of mine in Florida who played baseball at Alabama and has no ties to NT other than he knows I love the Mean Green, is in the early stages of his fight with ALS. He has texted me twice in the past month or so. One was a "how about the Mean Green" text with a pic of Hamlet after the Purdue win. The other was the ESPN story of Hope Trautwein's perfect game. His comment: "A record that can only be tied, at best." Supporting college sports matters. GMG

I have a business relationship with a company in Regina, Sas, the hometown of the Roughriders, and I told her to look out for Mason Fine. She told me that vertically challenged QBs have a history of doing well in the CFL. She is from Texas and knows all about NT. The Mean Green Nation is expanding.

I saw this, and when I clicked on the video, it showed her last out. And after the final K, in which her softball was already in the catcher's mitt before the batter began her swing, she just kinda skipped off the field like it was just a normal win for her. No crazy celebration or anything... just "met expectations". She's phenomenal.

Like Deep Green said this feat is remarkable no matter what level it would be played. ⚾️ Anyone know when these Mean Green Ladies next home game is? They deserve an SRO crowd for it no matter when it is.

With the large number of players in portal how many will actually be able to keep their scholarships? Chasing minutes when you are role player maybe not helpful to future employment if they don't finish your degree. Reese will find a home for sure but I wish he stay here. Some of the players leaving I am not sure if they will find scholarships waiting for them else where.

It is bizarre for its humble nature. It is a pretty good reaction to beating an overmatched opponent. Almost sports(wo)man-like. And it is one reason I really enjoy the ladies sports at NT. Very proud of and for this team and its coaches. GMG

Unbelievable! Even if UAPB was 1-18, striking out every batter for 7 innings is insane. I'm really hoping Hope gets the nod against OU in a few weeks because it seems she is on fire! Also, anyone notice how the field had no stands, just lawn chairs lol

Was on Sports Center just prior to the Top Ten. How this didn't make the Top Ten over your typical home runs and dunks is crazy to me. One other note, UAPB's facility is horrible. Y’all, If you live in DFW and have any ability, you need to get up to Lovelace to see Trautwein pitch at least once before she graduates. She’s the greatest to ever lace ‘em up for MG Softball. Just on a totally different level. I know UAPB is pretty bad, but to strike out every batter you face is simply incredible at any level. Way to go Hope & way to go Mean Green Softball!
