I have a feeling that McCasland has a few things up his sleeve regarding the current roster.3 points
-
Certainly the highest potential roster we have had in a long time (if ever) and a definite what it. Jordan, Tony, and Chris all still playing and stay in contact. Jordan comes home somewhat often and has played around on some local teams. Jordan and Chris don’t fail and Johnny stays we certainly could have had our first big dance win a decade ago.3 points

It's strange...when I type "Jorden Williams V Tony Mitchell tonight!" I receive no results for viewing options.3 points

I think we will get another big so it’s not just Abou and Chrisdon Morgan on our roster. Looks like we’re going after them too. Xavier Cork and Filip Rebraca3 points

Former UNT alums are battling it out down south tonight! You can find a link with a google search usually.2 points

DENTON – The Mean Green Scholarship Fund has announced the release of the UNiTe Initiative. The UNiTe Initiative is a 5-year strategic plan to achieve 5,000 MGSF members and raise $5,000,000 annually by 2026. The goal of the Mean Green Scholarship Fund is to help offset the annual cost of student-athlete scholarships in an effort to allow the North Texas athletic department to use those funds to improve the overall experience for UNT student-athletes in other areas such as facilities, equipment, nutrition, and travel. The support of over 1,000 MGSF donors currently assists more than 350 UNT student-athletes cover some of the costs associated with attending the University of North Texas. This support is critical in order to provide student-athletes with the necessary resources to compete nationally and within Conference USA. In 2020, North Texas Athletics' expense for student-athlete scholarships reached more than $6.3 million. Please consider making a gift to the Mean Green Scholarship Fund today and help UNT to UNiTe North Texas. To make a gift, click here. I love how you matched him letter for letter, down to the Jorden instead of Jordan.2 points

If he does, we need to move him to QB immediately. That kind of speed is such a huge tool for a quality QB starter2 points

I agree that they are going to have to play an important role, but outside of Jones, I don't see Mac being terrific with freshmen. Am I missing something there?2 points

Brune says Farrar is the No. 5 All-Purpose back in the country.2 points

Well, you put this poll in the football forum and you didn't put it in the basketball forum. I think that about says enough.2 points

Dane Bugler huge Draft Guide is now available. You can receive it for free with a subscription to The Athletic. Below is an excerpt of his summary for Darden. He did make one huge mistake: Jaelon would not be be the first WR pick for North Texas. He would be the third.1 point

Doesn't look like new developments. Seems to follow what we all know - except now there is a recording of the ad execs post conference call talking about their feelings about him as a person (how they think he is not a good face of the company - they think he lacks introspection and is a racist at heart). Now - maybe/likely the conference call was leaked as a setup to force bad press, but the conference call itself was no a setup. No one made him drop the N word. He was riffing and let the n-word fly casually. I am not here to cast judgement on that, but a company board can vote out members and fire a CEO. That is what happened and follows what we know. It's odd for him to admit to it first, then go conspiracy on it, then admit he struggled to rid the N word from his vocabulary.. then all this press release driven mumbo jumbo.1 point

I’ll call for us to be at least .500 this year. I think we obviously win game 1. Then we’ll take one of the UAB/LaTech games. We probably lose the schmoo, Mizzou and Liberty games. But then I agree with Brett, the schedule gets easier from there and we finish the season on a win streak. Not going to pick individual games, because I still see us being inconsistent, but put me down for 6-6 or 7-5. Also, I don’t care how badly UTSA whooped us last year. That’s a win this year. Littrell has proven he can get to .500 with just a serviceable defense. Bennett isn’t going to deliver a world beater defense in year one, but it is going to be much improved over last year and will get better as we get games and experience.1 point

I agree and this is what I don't get. Didn't they realize he didn't fit the system when they were recruiting him?1 point

Not too excited yet, 22 commit , how many times have we had guys change their mind. I not sure why we list 22 commits at all.1 point

I’m sorry, but the Portal must go unless the NCAA wants to create more recruiting scandals when schools start meeting secretly with stars from other schools & then start cherry-picking from said schools, specifically G5 schools. It was an NCAA bureaucrat’s ill conceived idea that doesn’t teach loyalty to recruits original school in any form or fashion. If NCAA bureaucrats want to screw up a good thing let them go to Washington where they can do that all day long with we the taxpayer’s money. GMG!1 point

The new silver facade on the upper portion of the exterior in place of the brown is at least an upgrade. I think we can work with it but doesn’t sound like we will, which I get. Baseball being non revenue doesn’t mean it isn’t a loss leader in lots of cases. It can be viewed as an advertising expense for the Mean Green brand, especially if we do well. It sustains the energy of the end of the basketball season through the rest of the semester which is a great thing.1 point

Fantastic pickup. Most of our other backs outside of Torrey (who's gone after this season anyways) are bigger backs. He'll be a perfect compliment to them1 point

Love this pickup! The more speed the better!1 point

Didn't seem to fit Coach Mac's system or style. Hope he finds a place he can play regular minutes. Opens up a spot for someone else.1 point

The Kansas football team might’ve landed a new starting quarterback on Friday, as North Texas’ Jason Bean announced he would be transferring to join the Jayhawks. Bean, a 6-foot-3 redshirt sophomore originally from Mansfield, Texas, started seven games for the Mean Green a season ago, completing 79 of 145 passes for 1,131 yards with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions. He’s also known for his speed. Bean, who finished third in his class in the 100-meter dash state championships as a high school senior in Texas, had 56 rushes for 346 yards last season. That included a 10-carry, 169-yard effort in North Texas’ 52-35 victory at Middle Tennessee. read more: https://amp.kansascity.com/sports/college/big-12/university-of-kansas/article250236295.html1 point

I’ve got an idea. On punt coverage, when the punting team is expecting a fair catch, just stand there. I know it sounds crazy, but just stand there and when the punting team starts to walk off, run the ball back hopefully for a touchdown. Nah.... That would never work.1 point

Both are important to school like UNT. We need them both to play well to draw the fair weather fans in.1 point

Matt we have academic standards and too few goats to lure those Kentucky students. Plus they are all busy redshirting to get that fifth year of high school eligibility.1 point

Yeah, Jason could most definitely be starting Game 1.1 point

Bean still needs to work on game management which Aune seems to have an edge. We all wish Jason Bean well & why would we not?1 point
