5 Things I was hoping the new DC would have. 1. DC experience 2. Success at FBS level as a DC 3. TXHSFB ties 4. Shown an ability to make adjustments. 5. Head Coaching experience I am hearing and I have confirmed with multiple sources Seth has singled in on his top target. He has already met with the candidate. The target checks all 5 boxes on my wish list. Sounds like this will come down to can we out bid his current employers.13 points

Loyola alum and fan living in Texas (The Woodlands) checking in here. First and foremost - I’m really glad you guys agreed to play this game. It’s not easy scheduling a game on short notice, and the fact that your coach was willing to travel all the way to Chicago is awesome. Going through all the protocols, travel, etc. is no easy task, and your team was already at a disadvantage from the tip because of it. We were equally as happy to get this game as you, given the circumstances. Second - y’all should know our fans respected your team going into this one. It’s my hope we return th10 points

It could be nick saban... and there would be a handful complain. But yes I believe the board will be pumped8 points

Everyone hated Herman down there. He was the opposite of Charlie Strong, who many liked, but the job was just too big for him. Herman could do ok, but his bitchassedness is off the charts. Dude is a very strange guy. Too thin-skinned for that job, for sure.7 points

My old computer finally crapped out. I had been posting on my wife's, but have a new computer now. So, I decided to end my old account and start fresh this year. Just wanted to y'all to know I'm not a new poster. It's just me. Go Mean Green!!!5 points

It's far too early to tell. These are good teams beating us. Not like the loss to a MAC 6-12 Eastern Michigan team in the D1 home opener last season.5 points

It is def not a must. But being in the #TXHSFB fraternity def helps in recruiting. One of main reasons we have seen Traylor and Morris have so much success.5 points

Kuehne is a gamer and one heck of a competitor. I would assume he is on special teams because he is tough and wants to play. Credit a QB that wants to strap it up and help anyway possible.4 points

Always thought if I could have had 350k to spend I could have done a whole lot better than Bowen.4 points

I’ve been chalking a lot up to COVID, but I still have a long term vision for our program. I dream of UNT and WKU slugging it out year in and out for T20 rankings. I want us to be in the running for S16 appearances. This program has never seen what that kind of tourney run can do to a fan base. It is remarkable, and would trump any of our bowl runs (just a gut feeling). I honestly think that is what CUSA really needs, too. A blood-thirst rivalry that never dulls. What I’m seeing this year is not on the trajectory that would get us there. WKU has stepped up for 2020-2021 and we don’4 points

All four losses have been against top 50 BPI teams. I doubt UNT has ever been a top 50 BPI team. Sure getting one or two of those would have been nice, but it's not time to melt down just yet. If we look similar to this against UTSA, then it'll be time to panic.4 points

The offense is pedestrian and grinding and the play is sloppy. If the three isn’t there, the ball stops and there are WAY too many stretches in every game against decent competition where we just go to sleep.3 points

I guess we got our answer to this question yesterday! Texas fires Tom Herman and hires Steve Sarkisian within like 3 hours of each other. Wow! What a quick interview. Wink, wink. 😂😂3 points

I am intrigued by Zacchaeus McKinney from Weatherford and I'd bet that FFR is as well. I believe that defensive tackle is our greatest need at present; especially if Novil doesn't return.3 points

This is great & I hope Jalie can finally put together the kind of season we know she can.3 points

Brian Stewart- current Baylor cornerbacks coach. Has more ties to Texas as former DC at Houston, also was DC and interim HC at Rice. Lots of experience coaching DB's both in college and in the NFL. Rocky Long- current DC at New Mexico. Checks all the boxes, but would only have minimal TXHSFB ties. His daughter is currently a professor at UNT. David Gibbs- current DB coach at Missouri. Most recently had DC and interim HC experience at Tech and Houston. Joseph Gillespie- current DC at Tulsa. Spent 20 years at Stephenville as HC and also worked under Art Briles and Chad Morri3 points

Jones on the line for a 1 and 1 down 8, chance to cut it to 6, misses, then they score 7 straight. Killer.3 points

We need a LB or two that can help stop the run. Front 7 is key in this league.2 points

I don’t give a damn if they can’t recruit provided they can coach up any players recruited for them and are effective defensive playcallers. Let Ek and Mainord smash recruiting. We need someone that can call a freaking defense and teach tackling again.2 points

Ha! No, but I had it for 10 years on a computer running Microsoft XP that many people had used. I thought a new account would help keep this computer more secure.2 points

Maybe not but this is pretty much how we looked offensively on the road in non-conference play last year as well.2 points

Nothing like a ball control team that can not hang on to the ball. Most of these turnovers are unforced, just poor ball handling.2 points

I would love a rolling statistic that shows a team’s shooting percentage from the 2 most recent minutes. Would give me more perspective than just a full-game percentage2 points

The arrangement with Learfield, I forget the exact language, but it means this: 1) You can’t look for KNTU/88.1. That feed (via internet) is blacked out. FM radio works. I know, weird. 2) You can find it on TuneIn by doing a search for “Mean Green”. You will find a Mean Green-Learfield specific stream, but it is sometimes not the MGRN. Here is tonight’s game: https://tunein.com/radio/North-Texas-Basketball-s308176/2 points

The Loyola announcers just announced that the North Texas nickname DID NOT come from Joe Greene. 2021 is already starting better than 2020.2 points

I know somebody he could bring in as an OC. He’s got recent experience at places like North Carolina and Arizona.2 points

Congratulations Steve Sarkisian. You are now another in a long line of Texas coaches to be paid top dollar, given an almost unlimited budget...and able to watch OU win conference titles while you enjoy unwarranted top 25 rankings and 7-9 win seasons.2 points

It’s college sports. If our players aren’t performing, the blame should always be on the coaches. Are the players not good enough? Then our coaches should have recruited better players. Are they too small or slow? Then our S&C coach isn’t getting results. Are the players not being developed well as football players? Then our position coaches aren’t doing their job. Having the 3rd worst defense in the country is evidence someone isn’t doing their job as a coach, and it’s on the head guy to figure out who that is. Something had to change.2 points

I don't understand what your first point is, as I stated NT got in because the old CUSA broke up. SMU was obviously a part of that breakup. Now instead of any real rationale of why Macleod is doing a bad job, you state most of CUSA aren't doing a good job either because they don't fire her. The problem is that there are not enough good football programs in CUSA. NT is certainly been a big part of the problem and not the solution. The only basis we have to judge Judy is on the conference results. On that basis, she has failed in football; but most other CUSA sports have d1 point

If Darden doesn't get drafted I will leave this board forever. I know this will create some internal strife in all of you which is why I said it.1 point

First we had Holgorsen committed, then he decommitted. Then we almost landed Chase Griffin but he chose UCLA. Kuehne was the most logical realistic choice at that point and he committed shortly after we moved our focus from Griffin to Kuehne. Kuehne was offered by Maryland, Arkansas State, and New Mexico so he was a legitimate G5 QB prospect, irrespective of the familial relationship.1 point
