We would have played them in a Safeway parking lot as long as it wasn’t in El Paso.5 points

I hate this conference but going independent is not better. Notre Dame makes it work because they have a massive following and are a brand name. NMSU went independent because their program was hemmoraging money. I prefer regional conference alignments better than going indy.2 points

Agreed...At least your traditional sports bars can show the game on FSSW, most cannot show ESPN+ or ESPN32 points

Yeah I'd take FSSW over ESPN+ any day2 points

ESPN+ and 3 is not so national. I would say more people have Fox Sports, than ESPN+ accounts...2 points

I’m confident that we can’t be confident about anything in 2020.2 points

We were originally set to play them in Wichita on December 2nd but no clue if they will be a part of our final schedule.1 point

Nothing official from UNT basketball’s twitter or Meangreensports on Morgan yet, although he has retweeted the following below1 point

That was actually a pathetic move by their President and coach to call for us to forfeit for not wanting to go into El Paso. Like you are still UTEP, no one is ducking you. What's even more pathetic is that some in our conference agreed with them and thought we should forfeit for not wanting to play there.1 point

They are commemorative. Some people keep them or maybe frame them. I don’t but that is why you got them.1 point

And NT was scouffed at for offering to pay their way to Denton. Watch us end up playing here or Midland.1 point

UTEP didn't want to do the same. The wheels are falling off in El Paso and UTEP now knows that if they don't play outside of El Paso, they will not play another game. They are requesting 4 more mobile morgues for all of the bodies while hospitals are at capacity. Looks like their President and Dana Dimel finally stuck their heads out and realized how bad the situation is in their city. https://kvia.com/news/el-paso/2020/11/10/amid-spike-in-covid-19-deaths-el-paso-texas-requests-four-more-trailers-in-addition-to-six-mobile-morgues-already-on-the-ground/1 point

Don't understand the fascination with Liberty here. I don't feel like any conference is going to touch them in the foreseeable future. They don't draw. Interested to know what I'm missing? Or is it just envy?1 point

Great now I know this season will be canceled. No way we play WKU twice at home in the same decade, so I know it won’t happen same year!1 point

when ESPN became a political channel I lost interest. Have not watched in years. I have it on cable and still don't watch it.-1 points

Right there with you. I will watch ballgames on there but have stopped watching Sports Center and their studio shows.-1 points

Totally agree. I think sports in general are suddenly figuring out that injecting their politics into sports is hurting them. The NBA in particular was hit really hard. The players may not care but their owners sure do. People aren't going to pay or spend time to watch a protest. ESPN needs to seriously start changing or another start up will knock them off their throne. I kind of think sports was starting to decline some anyway. College has monopolies now so the fix is in. NFL is still big but numbers are down and the Cowboys are laughable. NBA is boring and for me unwatchable now. Loved the 80s and 90s though. MLS is fun but watching washed up players from other countries kneel during our national anthem is a great way to increase your brand. MLB is always fun at the games but not really on TV. But we can't go to games. College basketball broke my heart when we didn't get a shot at the tournament. Screw you Rona. Maybe this pandemic has shifted peoples priorities? I certainly am only missing NT sports but not really missing the others.-1 points

Remember that I said this today: LIBERTY WILL BE RANKED IN THE TOP 25 WITHIN 5 YEARS AND BE IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HUNT WITHIN 10.-1 points

Next year, we play at SMU, at Missoula, and home against Liberty in OOC along with our home game against a FCS spare. So, it would appear that we are looking at 1-3 in OOC. I guess it will be up to CUSA schedule to help SL keep his job after the season is done.-1 points
-
If he actually signs with SMU. WE all know how that can go....-1 points

Its envy for me. Getting ranked after a few season as a FBS program, like Coastal Carolina, just makes me wonder why we can't ever do this. Since 1995, we have had 5 head coaches, 3 ADs, 3 conferences, 2 stadiums, and countless opportunity games. And we can't get ranked. I've seen Boise State, Nevada, UCF, USF, Troy, Coastal Carolina, Western Kentucky, and now Liberty get ranked in the same time we have been FBS. I'm sure I've missed some others, too. Its just disheartening.-1 points

So we got tickets that we can't use for games that are not being played. What am I missing here?-1 points

I know most people would not like us to play as an independent but would that be better than playing in CUSA? Or, create a regional conference? Just curious, any opinions?-2 points
