Bring your favorite tailgating chair or blanket and come watch the UNT vs. UTEP football game on the GIANT SCREEN at the Tostitos Championship Plaza at The Star District in Frisco! Game audio included! Pick up food and drink from one or more of the 22 restaurants or 12 sports bars. Be sure to check out the upstairs patio at City Works overlooking the plaza. City Works is willing to put the game on their big screen TVs when asked, and with enough requests, may be willing to play the game audio as well. Note that canopies are NOT permitted at the Tostitos Championship Plaza. However, food and drink are permitted, preferably purchased from one of the Star District establishments. Please respectfully socially distance and wear a mask when not eating or drinking.14 points

What a night! A great weeknight crowd at Apogee Stadium, too. •••This game would feature “The Stand,” that is, when a good Rice Owls football team would be in the Red Zone & not score In 8 tries. Mean Green fans absolutely went nuts!!!! •••This Mean Green football team In a little over 2 months would play in the HOD Bowl game vs the UNLV Rebels in the Cotton Bowl Stadium. There would be almost 40,000 Mean Green fans for this bowl matchup. (UNLV brought so few fans). ••• North Texas won the January, 2014, bowl game easily. GMG!8 points

Been working on this for weeks. Wanted an environment where everyone could have fun and stay safe/healthy at the same time. Lots of room to spread out.8 points

I don't see what the big deal is, do they usually have fans in the stands?6 points

not sure why this game doesn't get moved to Apogee..with El Paso being such a hot bed right now...6 points

if only we had that defense now.6 points

You have to think he took the Austin Peay offer to SoMiss and said, "Make me the HC permanently, or I'm taking this opportunity", and they said no.5 points

One of my favorite sports games I’ve ever been to in person! Loved Lee’s hit on the Rice QB at the end, and I just miss that hard hitting and overall hard nosed football!5 points

In their worst years, they could still draw over 15K a game. Last year they won 1 game TOTAL and they were over 17K. Their best years include averages of 40K+. This is not like DFW where there are tons of alternative things to do when the team starts to tank. El Paso LOVES their Miners. There are tons of programs to pick on for attendance. UTEP ain't really one of them.4 points

Keeping all fingers and toes crossed that this game is actually played. El Paso is experiencing a rather large COVID outbreak at the moment. Hopefully the team can get “in and out” of El Paso, with a win of course, safely.4 points

It was the most physical UNT team I had ever seen. Will never forget the Ball State game that year. UNT made them quit.4 points

I still think that was the best team we have fielded since the Fry days. That team could hit, tackle, and pressure the QB. We had a solid offense, too. A 9-win team that could’ve easily won 11 games if we made plays at Ohio, Tulane, and at home against UTSA, which cost us the CUSA West division. But that team was as good as anyone UNT has ever rolled with.4 points

To me La. Tech is a program that does the most with the least, while the University of Texas does the least with the most.4 points

If you remember, he turned down a 26 year old nobody for Graham Harrell. I think SL made the right move at the time.4 points

On this week's press conference, Littrell said that Adaway practiced yesterday.3 points

I would like to see SL's best recruiting classes become upperclassmen prior to cutting him loose.3 points

Then not being on the depth chart might have more to do with them sort of playing their own positions that are not really on the team’s traditional depth chart/base defense look.3 points

That game was something else. We destroyed their will to play football3 points

Kenny Buyers man... Never had a doubt every time he made an open field tackle all alone. He was best I've ever seen when it came to that hog tie tackle.3 points

They outdrew us by about 2K fans a game so there’s definitely a degree of self-ownage using the very unique “don’t they normally not have any fans at their games” joke.2 points

Nah, just drunk in the parking lot fist fighting the other team's fans2 points

With the way he's put everything he's got into the past 3.5 seasons, he absolutely deserves to be the record holder for all 3 and I'm rooting for him to do so. Sure-fire NT HOF'er. He got drowned out quite a bit with JG and Rico here, as well as Lawrence, but he held his own & was producing that whole time. Now it's JD's time to shine. With the way everyone looks back so fondly on Brelan Chancellor, I think we'll look back even more fondly on JD when his time here is done.2 points

To me, La Tech is one of those programs where you respect what they are able to do year after year. Do you want to beat them, hell yes so you can measure the success of your program1 point

Well, I can't see one reason why people wouldn't want liberty in their conference. I certainly know why some people don't want liberty University. But can the same be said for SMU, Baylor ETC. When has money in college football been a negative. Every time I watch UT play, especially against UNT, then NTSU in 1988, we all know or should have known that UT was paying the refs full mortgage IE paying off their houses. With the absolutely ridiculous inbound reception to Keith Cash three yards out of bounds in the end zone at War Memorial stadium. I really don't understand the SMU reference, unless you mean that liberty is paying their players. The governor of Texas at the time was contributing to SMU athletics. I don't want to even get into how the son of one of the Pony Express got the pirate fired at Texas Tech, I digress. But, talent always prevails even if it takes years. The pirate's now that Mississippi State. I bet the pirate hates being in the SEC!!! I certainly don't think Liberty University has to pay their players to come play good football, or participate in other sports. Liberty University just probably provides a great college degree. You might not agree with the degree that the students at that college are going to get. But, once again that's their personal choice and their personal decision. That they believe will benefit their lives. Just because liberty spends a lot of money because they have it, if spent the right way doesn't mean that won't buy you quality, professional services. So their athletic department is loaded. That buys good facilities, good coaching, and they can go out and recruit. Then put a quality product on the field. The way UNT looks this year you'd really have to be drinking green Kool-Aid not to think that Liberty is way better than UNT. Regardless of how young their program is. From a business standpoint C-USA should offer liberty tomorrow. I think C-USA would be lucky to get Liberty University.1 point

On the radio post-game on my way home from the game, Seth put the blame on offense and special teams. Said the defense did enough to win, as I recall. He said they played bad football and said that’s on the coaches. Sounded pissed and it sounded like Dave picked up on it and kept the interview brief.1 point
