  1. I’m tired of seeing our d-linemen getting doubled into our LBs laps, then seeing that 5th DB come in to make the tackle after 10+ yard gains. I know it’s a passing league, I know it’s easier to get good DB recruits than D-Line recruits as a G5 school, but the 3-3-5 hasn’t worked and it feels like our players are constantly in positions where they are on their heels and in 3rd and shorts, if they even get to 3rd down. Maybe even a 4-2-5 might make more sense if teams’ bases are 11 personnel. We have recruited well the last couple of years defensively, so I refuse to believe we don’t have p

  2. If we can't play defense, then we can't win. I don't care what anyone says. It still rings true, defense wins championships.

  3. The most disappointing part of the game to me was when we scored a touchdown, still down 35 points and our guys are dancing around celebrating, doing pre planned hand shake deals etc. It just shows these guys heads ar e totally in the wrong place. That was embarrassing and disgraceful

  4. Well, he is 3 games over 500, and not many UNT football can say that. We won't buy him out because we can't afford to. I don't know how many years he has on the contract he sighed 2 years ago but he is making $1million+ a year, about $100,000 per game. Over paid, over rated.

  6. Im not sure if you’ve been watching them but I think the Bobcats would have a real chance of beating us the way we have played thus far. As far as buying out Littrell, I don’t think that is great idea. This is a f’d up year. We lost our qb coach right before the season started. We lost two defensive starters the day before the game. We are trying out two new quarterbacks to try and replace one of our best ever. This season is a lost season for many reasons. Let’s just try to get through it and pretend in never happened. Hopefully with this pseudo-season and spring practice we will figure

  7. Beyond the depleted roster, last night was coaching water trash. Of course, OA and Darden were solid. But I also think the new punter deserves some praise. He had some great kicks. That save he made on the botched snap could have easily added to the S show of errors we made. Hoping he continues to play like that.

  10. Ok, UH has completely murdered us every time we have played them since we came back from being a 1-AA program. I mean crushed us. This won’t be any different. Much like SMU, they have way more talent and much better coaching than we have. Worse, UH has even bigger linemen and their front 7 on defense will again play fullback in our offense at the snap. This year is all about matching up with and staying above Rice, UTSA, and UTEP. We cannot cede any more territory to any other Texas teams in our sorry-ass conference.

  15. I am happy to have the opportunity to go to UNT football games and support my team. Can’t wait till the next game. you will see me in my seats for the SM game for sure. In the mean time, BEAT HOUSTON!!

  16. From what I saw, SMU (surprisingly) didn’t start pulling their starters until the 4th quarter. Heck, they didn’t pull Buschelle until the final minutes of the 4th. Most of UNT’s 35 were scored prior to the 4th, so no.

  17. So you think TCU scheduled SMU (as a makeup game that didn’t exist before this season), saw them barely squeak by Texas State, and got scared? My lord people, SMU is not a quality program...we just make them look like it every time.

  18. I don’t understand why we run a 3-3-5. Texas State had 4 down lineman on against SMU and was able to generate pressure while also stopping the run. They also had a converted FB at DT and missing other defensive starters as well. Tired of this crap.

  20. I’m not calling for Littrell’s head Yet but to answer this part...tons of people. We comp at the upper end of G5 and have good football facilities. Lots of qualified people would happily take this gig.

  21. Sure. It's 2020. I'm just glad our team wasn't hit with a meteor.

  22. I was still on board with SL after last year. I just expected this year to be different. I just don’t see it happening. We should never look this unprepared.

  24. Salt in the wound. I was defending Seth up until this point, but I can’t any longer. He has the left the program in a better place but since we lost to La Tech 2 years ago we have gone 10-12. Not only was that a season changing loss, but is was a program changing loss. You can’t crap the bed in literally every big game we have. The team was lifeless and scared before this game even started. Unfortunately, we can’t get rid of Seth because the gamble that Wren took with upping his buyout so we will have to ride with him this year. Hopefully next year, he either does well enough to leav

  26. Apparently I am in the minority of fans, in that I believe a season is made up of more than 2 games. NT is a very bad team at this point particularly on the defensive side. Conversely SMU is a very good program at this time and probably will be the best team that NT plays this year. Few were predicting that NT would win over one oc game. The problem is that NT was totally non=competitive against SMU. NT losing their top two defensive players certainly didn't help. No, NT would not have won if they played, but it wouldn't have been such a lopsided loss. The greatest upset

  27. As a new fan, it is clear the culture of this program is complete shit. It may seem like a little thing, but in my 40 plus years of watching football, I can't remember ever seeing a team celebrate like they did after scoring and still being down 35 points. Dancing around, pre planned handshakes and practiced chest bumps etc. That is a massive indicator that there are serious problems with this program. Ive seen bad stuff, but that stood out to me like nothing I can remember. This program is going nowhere with the kind of leadership that not only allows that to happen, but has guys wh

  28. Bean had Adaway in there as well. Aune had to over come a ton of false starts which put him in some tough situations. Aune just knew how to manage the downs better than Bean. Bean was too scared to throw the ball most of the time and failed to hit his receivers when he did throw.

  29. The thing that bothered me were the 10+ FALSE STARTS! The players joking around on the sidelines is very frustrating. Not sure why coaches allow that crap.

  30. I expected to lose this game, but I didn't expect us to be curb stomped. It's pitiful when your offense generates 35 points and you still lose by 30. I am hoping that we are going through growing pains with Clint Bowen's defense. If not, then we better find someone who can coach defense. I honestly thought Ekeler would have been a better Defensive Coordinator.

  31. There's alot of guys on this board that have been through year after year of one and two win seasons at that crap hole we called Fouts Field and they still gave their money and showed up. Calling it quits after one disappointing loss is really shity and it shows how much some of yall actually are actually invested in North Texas and its success.

  32. Also forgot to mention the fact that our bench, with 6 minutes left, were playing around and laughing. I was in shock. Utter disgust. That shows how bad Seth has our team disciplined. But at the same time, they had no energy on the field. I wonder where it went. Fans were yelling at the players, and of course they yell back, but for the first time I agree with the fans yelling at them. It was a disaster and they were acting like nothing happened.

  41. Where the heck is all this Selfless, Tough and Disiplined Seth preaches every week? Is selfless celebrating when your down 20? Is tough allowing a QB to get past 3 defenders behind the line and convert 4th down?? Is disiplined allowing 10 false start penalties??? I am getting sick and tired of hearing this phrase because i haven't seen any of the qualties since at least the 2018 team. How about Selfish, Soft and Undisiplined... at least that would tell the damn truth.

  42. Get ready to write the same email next week unless we have a fortunately timed Covid cancellation. TCU knows that SMU would’ve been a challenge and they had little benefit to playing them. Same with Baylor and LaTech/UH. They saw what happened to Iowa State and Kansas against the Belt and they didn’t want to risk it. Just put it on the shelf for Big 12 play. Don’t you find it strange that nobody happens to have Covid cancellations when they are facing a FCS program or a UTEP caliber program? It’s the damnedest thing.

  43. Maybe Houston will take us out to a nice steak dinner before the game. Who doesn't like to be wined and dined before they get effed?

  46. At this point I want Aune getting some quality reps. Run the offense, get some good reads/throws in. He has looked much more poised against real FBS compeition. Bean looks rattled and unprepared.
