  1. I have seen it said over and over and over on this board that “we don’t ever sign enough beef.” Well, of the 10 players currently committed, 5 play along the lines. And these are kids with decent size who had other D1 offers.

  2. Was just looking at past classes, and from what I can see this recent recruiting class looks to be one of our best ever. According to 247 four of our top 15 all-time commits by ranking are in this class, and we also managed to add 2 solid P5 transfers as well as a RB just today who had some big time offers at one point. Obviously I don't think our best individual recruit ever is in this class, but it looks like from top to bottom this could be the best. What do you guys think? Regardless, the difference in recruiting between Littrell's first few years and now is pretty big and I think we will start to see that paying off on the field over the next couple of seasons.

  4. I think we are on year six of your doom and gloom bit. Leave and do what? You think that if the P5s started over they would agree on anything? That the PAC12 and SEC would be willing to follow the same rules? Or suddenly the BIG10 would acquiesce to anything the Big12 or ACC would want? I'm highly skeptical. And who would run this organization? I can't think of anybody who has the clout and political skills to make everybody happy. The rules are barely followed now, would any rule be followed if the conferences were the ones who enforced the rules? Not a chance. Is the NCAA a bureaucratic mess? Absolutely. Does it need Emmert gone and massive reform? Yep. But the idea that the P5s could magically make this work by breaking off seems very far fetched to me. In a way it would be a fun, chaos experiment. I think schools like Miami and a variety of SEC schools would do WHATEVER it took to be successful. It'd make the 80s scandals look like Mister Roger's Neighborhood.

  5. I think it means he’s not announced or enrolled until after the school year starts, then he’s enrolled & his scholarship is part of 2021’s count, even though he can play in 2020.

  6. Very true. Also, this is coming off of the 2020 class in which we signed 3 defensive linemen who each had multiple P5 offers.

  7. What are we going to do with all these good young RBs? Feels like we’re back in the early 2000s! Definitely a position of strength. Welcome aboard Mr. Ragsdale!

  9. FAU didn’t receive their 4 star recruits until they won a couple championships... we win back to back championships and we’ll get a local 4 star. Hopefully sooner than later. Continuous improvements to our facilities and some B2B winning seasons and we’ll also be positioned well for a possible AAC invite. That needs to be our short term goal. Some really great teams in the AAC. #GMG

  11. Best Class Ever is determined by history and not a 247 rating. There does seem to be a lot of exceptional potential in the 2020 class and they may eventually achieve that designation. Time will tell.

  13. i teach all sides and explain to the best of my capabilities to kids why people believed as they did. not once did i say it was right, but i'm still going to explain to the kids why people believe what they did and did what they did. i'm not going to whitewash history or only portray the good parts. people need to know why others think the way they do/did. obviously, you don't like that...cool. from a cultural standpoint, there are reasons for clitorial mutilation/genocide that make sense to those people (not to us, but we aren't living in their society or history). that's all im saying... i never said i agreed with that or genocide or whatever you want to say. edit: i also teach religion, but i'm not about to tell them all the good things about them without letting them know about the negatives.

  14. I teach all view points, good and bad. Its important for kids to understand why some people think the way they do....right and wrong. It's called having an open mind and seeing other cultures and understanding their beliefs. Guess it's a good thing I never taught you in class.

  15. I should bite my tongue on this but oh well. Towards the end of the 98 season I had a run in with Helwig and I don't remember how the conversation got on this subject but Helwig was complaining about Simon bringing in kids from California. I remarked back "yeah well we got Scott Blank from California." His reply was something about Scott Blanks grow on trees in Texas high school football. I walked away with the thought sealed that we were doomed with this dumbass leading our athletic department. Blank was first team all-conference and has the second leading season sack total in history against some pretty good teams. He caused havoc against A&M and OU. I don't care if we got him from Mars.

  19. "Pac 12 football players have created a list of “demands” 4 the Pac-12/Universities 2 take into consideration, if the demands aren’t addressed/complied w/ the players R threatening to sit out the season..There is significant support growing among ALL 12 teams with 50 or More players on many of teams in support of this action/demands list," Carpenter tweeted. "The initial idea was 2 create a players union, they decided time didn’t allow 4 this & figure the best way to create the change they want is 2 “boycott” the season. read more: https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/sec-football/pac-12-players-boycott-2020/

  22. This class is really good on paper. We'll see in five years how they work out. And, many of our best classes were before internet rating services existed! Late 50s and the mid to late 60s were also very good.

  24. Please. Please. Show me WHO lately saying to not wear a mask in a spreading community. I'm wanting to learn. You can't say science changes daily, then hold on to Fauci saying not to wear a mask (6months ago) as proof that scientist and doctors don't know shit. Fauci was going on WHO data when they thought it was not an aerosol spread. Also, they recommended people to not wear/buy masks because PPE was in such severe shortage. That is not a reason to keep spreading false information now or to distrust experts.

  27. New to this political argument. And I sincerely apologize for the offending that is about to occur, but bear with me as I attempt civil debate. With all the caveats that even one death is too many, we need to at least “consider science,“ always evolving as it may be. It appears, from my limited reading on the subject, that knowing how many got the disease is not as relevant as knowing how many suffered from the disease. Did this source include the number of deaths in that age group? Did it break out the number of asymptomatic in this age group? Any comparison to the numbers that got the flu (even with a vaccine), numbers that suffered, numbers that passed away during a comparable 3.5 month period of a flu season? By my understanding, the flu doesn’t affect adults as much as children. Why not close schools during every flu season “for the children?” This CDC paper, https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6928e1.htm , says that amongst all CV-19 deaths, less than 0.1% were children under 18. Admittedly, this data only goes through May 18. But the % may be lower now as we have more treatment options today than in the ancient days of May. It is possible more children died during the same period from NOT being in school, from abuse, random neighborhood violence, drug overdose, lack of air conditioning in the house and other things kids do when they don’t have anything else to do. 31. There are many things today that have this country divided, but how can anyone justify this person not being in jail. https://www.tampabay.com/news/crime/2020/07/22/three-arrested-in-slaying-three-friends-headed-to-fishing-trip-grady-judd-says/ "Tony Wiggins was first arrested at age 12 and has a history of 230 felony charges, 15 convictions and two terms in state prison"
