  1. Only a home and home. And when I say “home” I mean Apogee. And, just to avoid a misunderstanding, the game at Apogee is first. GO MEAN GREEN

  2. Well, yes and no. Things have changed quite a bit since this initially started included the way we treat those infected. You may or not agree with this, but NY, NJ and to a lesser extent CT screwed the pooch on this and it's affected everything that's followed since (people's perceptions, ability to compare "progress" or lack of over time with any confidence, etc.). Aside from the disastrous decision to place Covid-positive patients in nursing homes where the disease spread like wildfire and killed scores of those that should have been protected the most, the message early on from all the health experts in this area was, if you have the symptoms, stay at home and do not come to the hospital or seek treatment until you get to the point where you are experiencing shortness of breath or breathing problems. The problem with that advice was it sealed the fate of many patients. By that time it was too late. They were probably destined for a ventilator and as we learned a significantly high number that went on ventilators never came off. Basically, we lost the opportunity of catching it and treating it early in its progression and not at the end. It was like telling a cancer patient to wait until it gets to stage 4 before you start treatment. Personally, I view this as a complete an utter failure of public health "experts." They were enamored with "flattening the curve" and protecting the health-care system, they just didn't tell us that doing so meant sacrificing a lot of people who could have probably been saved. Fast-forward to current day and I believe the posture now is to treat the disease as soon and as early as possible - don't let it get to ventilator stage, especially for those with complicating factors. This means putting more people in the hospital now than they would have back in the March-May timeframe. In this respect, hospitalizations is not to be avoided at all costs as it was early on. We need to look at both admissions and discharges and how long people are in the hospital. Are they there for a day or two and released or do they stay for weeks? What was their condition when admitted, etc.?

  5. Majority FBS didn’t offer him at all. What video did this program see with the guys on the team now? Pretty clear they are not FBS defensive ends. It’s unfortunate that no one else can have an opinion on this board; over the last few years. You say he doesn’t have pursuit speed but acknowledge that his speed hasn’t been confirmed. Yes, too many School try to get cute in positioning and projecting positions. Let’s see what he can do at his current position before trying to move him. No, it is not clear he is not DE. OL maybe a need. This team wanted Trey Stiggers as a defensive back.

  8. I am not suggesting that people were denied admission to a hospital if they showed up or that doctors did not hospitalize patients that they deemed needed to be admitted. There were constant local PSAs telling people to "stay at home, do not go to the hospital or emergency room unless or until you experience difficulty breathing." People listened to this advice (in theory). They didn't go to the hospital when they probably should have and only sought medical treatment after the disease had fully blossomed in their lungs. At this point, very few survived or required a much longer hospital stay than they would have if they received early treatment. We all saw the videos of overwhelmed NYC hospitals, however, some of those videos were not even NYC hospitals! While some hospitals may have been worse than others, the truth is NYC never ran out of beds, never ran our of ventilators, didn't need the Javits Center and didn't need the Comfort (I think the Comfort saw less than 20 patients).

TEXAS plans on playing to 50% unless Greg steps in. https://247sports.com/Article/Texas-Longhorns-planning-to-limit-seating-capacity-to-50-percent-149344007/ Thinking that if UT goes that way then any State supported school can too!

  13. If non conference is cancelled we lose $1.4 million on A & M guarantee. This is where ALL other sports realize FB drives the bus. None can survive w/o their share of FB revenue. This could easily be the end of college athletics at CUSA level. As far as end of pandemic, it seems to only get worse with winter surges promised that will eclipse the present. I am 73 and spoke with my internist who is about five years younger and he felt neither of us will see COVID-19 eradicated in our lifetime. Welcome to your new normal compliments of Peoples' Republic of China --germ warfare division.

  14. WHAT A CROCK OF BS! You never see the people on the right burning, pillaging, destroying, raping, murdering. It is the radical, socialist democrats that are aiding and abetting the anarchists in destroying this country by closing down the economy, shutting down schools, defunding the police and accusing otherwise law abiding, economically productive, tax paying citizens of being racist, privileged because we obey the laws of the land, and respect our history for what is was, not how it is. The right does not indiscriminately destroy what others have built.

  15. maybe they jump to his defense because they agree with him...just because it's ridiculous to you, doesn't mean it's ridiculous to them. very simple...or maybe they are blind followers, but you can't discount everyone that doesn't agree with you. you see things as ridiculous and petty...other see that those are needed responses or common sense thoughts. you have to have just as much of an open mind as you want others to have and be able to see things from all sides.

  16. just bolding that spot because i don't follow politics enough to know about the political issues that you specified. from what i see online, it's the opposite of the what you stated. it's the cultish hate about whatever the president says/does/acts/thinks/tweets, but, social media is extremely democratic is political leanings. i guess it's the beauty of life (or maybe the shity part of life) that you and i can see the same things out there, yet view them differently. who knows. MeanGreenTexan states "But I never really saw any of their supporters take things so personally like Trump's fans do"...funny, i see the other side taking every little thing personally...i think everyone is way to emotional when it comes to trump I voted for obama's second term (voted 3rd party in 08 due to not knowing enough about obama and not liking romney), bill clinton both times, but also voted for bush and trump, no problem saying those things. i voted for trump for the sheer fact that i wanted someone different from the career politician. I honestly don't think it's been a bad 4 years and will probably vote for him again. every candidate has issues.

  17. it's funny because so many people hate the man that they will do the opposite of what he says. and that's the problem with america today...too many people blindly follow/hate the president that they can't see through their hatred/allegiance at the good/bad that he has done. he has done good things, he has done shitty things...just like every damn president, but for some reason, people don't care. it's either trump great or trump bad...it's sad that people are so closed minded nowadays

  20. I concur, only if there is a return game scheduled at Apogee. I don't care if it's contracted for 2030, but there really needs to be a return game. Tech was contracted to play at Fouts in 1998 and 2001. Tech refused to play in Denton after North Texas won 30-27 in Lubbock in 1997, and demanded that the return games be played in Irving at Texas Stadium, or they were backing out of the agreement. North Texas won again in Lubbock in 1999, and had a shot to win on the last play of the 2000 game in Lubbock, but wait, LaDarrin has broken free and is racing down the sideline carrying the football like a loaf of bread.... Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! NOOOOO!

  26. Jeremy Combs (born November 24, 1995) is an American basketball player for the Köping Stars in the Basketligan, the highest tier of basketball in Sweden. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Combs After a high school career at David W. Carter High School in Dallas, Combs committed to North Texas Mean Green men's basketball, where he played for coach Tony Benford. In three seasons for the Mean Green, Combs averaged 12 points and 8.2 rebounds for the team and as a sophomore was named second-team All-Conference USA. At the close of Combs' three seasons at North Texas, Benford was fired and subsequently hired as an assistant at Louisiana State University (LSU). Combs was eligible as a graduate transfer and followed Benford to Baton Rouge.[1] In his lone season at LSU, Combs was limited to six games as he struggled with the lingering effects of his ankle injury suffered at North Texas.[2] Following the season, he and LSU parted ways, but he was granted a fifth year of eligibility and transferred to Texas Southern to complete it.[3] Combs made the most of his extra year, averaging 17 points and 9 rebounds per game and earning Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Player of the Year honors.

  34. I allowed FC Dallas to push my season ticket to 2021. It’s good and easy for them. Of course I wanted to throw a tantrum when almost the whole freaking team showed up to Orlando positive with Covid and had to withdraw from the MLS is Back tournament. But I have since calmed down and told them just push it to 2021. That is what I will do with the Mean Green. GMG

  35. It is precisely what I stated. You are definitely proving yourself not the expert. That is not on me. First I said: "...inflated positive results (including probable covid) and making the death percentage go down (since all death require positive test). I agree, they should fix that to report the accurate death rate." Then I said: ".. inflated positives, has no impact on hospitalizations and deaths - that do require confirmed PCR. Therefore giving a rosier picture on death rates. .." It is the same message. Same context. Same meaning. I have never claimed to be an expert, but I do read the links you shotgun here that don't seem to back up your reason for posting them.

  36. Criminal? Ever heard of workplace sexual harrassment? She was an intern and he a superior. I don't care if she was willing or not. https://sfgov.org/dosw/sexual-harassment-frequently-asked-questions#Can consensual sexual relations between a 4. Supervisor Section The following questions and answers address many issues which will need to be addressed primarily by supervisors and managers. Can consensual sexual relations between a supervisor and his or her subordinate be considered sexual harassment? Yes. While a consensual sexual relationship between a supervisor and a subordinate is not prohibited, it will always have consequences, some of which can be considered sexual harassment. (Some companies outright prohibit these types of relationship - check your company policy.) It is important and professional that managers and supervisors maintain high standards of fairness and impartiality in their supervision of employees. These standards may be compromised, or at least the appearance of neutrality will be compromised, if a manager engages in a sexual relationship with a subordinate. It is difficult to give an impartial performance appraisal to someone with whom you are involved in a sexual relationship. Moreover, if the relationship between the supervisor and the employee ends or creates a hostile environment for others, then it may form the basis upon which a sexual harassment complaint can be filed. For professional reasons, these relationships should be avoided and, if one occurs, both individuals may want to consider the possibility of transfer.

At the gate, he probably should have worn one but mask wearing is also required when you can’t socially distance and it does not look like anyone is in his immediate area. Look, pictures can be captured and misinterpreted pretty easily. The picture taker is just another “Karen” with an agenda. Back on topic, no I do not. Know some folks that were told they were exposed that never showed a symptom and tested negative.

  43. Decisions certainly don't need to be rushed. But, unless there is a major breakthrough soon regarding Covid-19, I expect the same for college football. In fact, I expect the NBA, NCAA BB, MLB, NHL and eventually the NFL to all cancel this season. More and more professional players are speaking out about not wanting to play with this virus still peaking. That mentality, plus active illnesses, are going to cause a diluted product on the field, with no fans and completely messed up schedules. In the end, I think the sports owners, university presidents, etc will think it is just not worth the risk to play. Then, you have to throw in the possible social implications of making the wrong decision by putting players in danger. Nobody will want to be "that guy" or woman that puts players lives in danger, especially when a sports figure passes away from CV. As if that isn't enough, you have all the political protests to deal with in the upcoming season. The dominoes are already lined up. It's just a matter of who will knock over the first one. Just MHO. It's a real shame. Sports (without politics) are badly needed now.

  44. I mean, lingering after effects was true with the Spanish Flu as well. People were thought to have been impacted by years from it. It's hypothesized by some historians that it may have contributed to President Wilson's stroke in late 1919 (he had the flu in March). But at the end of the day when the pandemic is discussed in historic terms, deaths is the headliner.
