  1. Frankly the coaches are more at risk than the players. And I think once it's all said and done we're going to realize that this virus isn't as serious as was originally billed and I think there are a lot of people out there that had it and didn't even notice. Some stuff I've been reading and listening to has also indicated that the strains they are finding now have mutated into a less severe version of earlier strains.

  2. We know three of them are healthy. Odds are the rest are too, especially considering that they ALL are in the lowest risk group, even more so than most of us reading this board. That’s my opinion and what I’m hoping for. This is good news. Now let’s play ball. Rick

  3. In 1967, if you somehow got by Joe it didn't mean that you had escaped PAIN cuz' All-MVC linebacker, Johnny Mata, was right behind him. Just part of the 7-1-1 MVC Championship Team which had 10 men named to the First TEAM All-MVC unit, and which led the nation in interceptions with 28, had a HOF QB who led the nation in TD passes, a HOF receiver who led the nation in TD receptions and was the beginning of our beloved "Mean Green". 6. Saw this online today - demanding he be fired, not because he is racist, but because he is not vocally anti-racist enough. On top of this they refused to hear the plan the school worked up for them because they are tired of meeting and it is not their job. Gotta love today's cancel culture. UNT is in my experience the most liberal/progressive school in Texas. I support the leadership of UNT

  8. Last year was no doubt a disappointment. I have some concern about this coming season. However, the last few signing classes have been really good and eventually (2021 ?), this team should break through from those signings.. Seth is a good coach. I am still really happy to have him here. At least we shouldn't have to listen to rumors about him leaving this season. He was still on the coaching hot list last year until the 3 game losing streak at the end put a stop to that.

  9. DT is 3rd leading passer all time at NT in passing yardage and in the top 5 all time in every other passing category. Led us to a bowl win and was MVP. Sounds like a no brainer to me. Congrats DT.

  10. Ok sorry. I have mentioned in other threads I think but I made the mistake of not explaining fully. Glad we reached an understanding. I work with many Vets and active duty - many friends are struggling from their experiences so it is something I hold dearly to my heart. And we also see it in our daily lives. Vietnam vets struggled and so do our current ones. Drug problems, unemployment, and homelessness are not just general society problems but also Veterans’ issues that we MUST address.

  11. I think the general rules being discussed were they had to test upon arrival. Plus the research I have read indicates antibodies don’t develop for a couple weeks after the infection. (Paraphrasing) So most likely if they have antibodies they should not have an active infection. Hopefully they swabbed every player and are keeping them distanced and in small groups.

  15. Again, nothing against DT personally, but how does a QB who never even made HM make it into a HOF. Just thinking we need higher standard. We have too many "good guys" in the HOF

  17. AS and SH should not be in a HOF We need to have something that is truly a HOF, and then maybe you could have an "Honored Alum" section. Our HOF, like many colleges is truly diluted.

  18. If we are talking strictly stats, how do you put in Andrew Smith and Scott Hall but not put in DT? On HOF standards we agree. We have too many in that are not deserving but at what point do you say “ok from now on our HOF is for real“? They need to create some superlative to the HOF for truly program defining players like Joe Greene, Amber Haynes, Hayden Fry, Ofus Mitchell, Brandon Kennedy, Patrick Cobbs, etc.

  19. Just did not have a clue what you were trying to say as you did not reference the VA in your original post. Had you done so, I would have known. And, as a Viet Nam era vet refused VA care I am painfully aware of the issues. Appreciate your concern for our Vets!

It's 7 blocks of a demonstration (and I share CBL's concerns about the end game) and you're being fed performative outrage and filtered accounts. You're gonna survive it, I promise. Doesn't being scared, outraged or worried about every trivial thing conservative news focuses on get exhausting for you snowflakes? Between this, the great Paw Patrol outrage, Jade Helm, Obama's tan suit, the confederate flag and statues... I'd be constantly exhausted... and that's even before you get to things that actually matter. You guys truly deserve a well-earned break.

  30. If Littrell could go 5-7 with that 2016 roster then there’s no reason this team shouldn’t be able to win 6 games. Also no reason we shouldn’t be better at QB than we were in 2016.

  31. Yes all of this needs to be done in concert with prison reform, increased funding for education and community programs, drug policy reform, mental health service reform, increased emphasis on community policing, legal reforms (removing no-knock warrants), affordable housing, congressional action on military surplus to police, and taking care of the over 2 million veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan who are often vulnerable to the above issues.

  33. I'm still learning, but the place I keep getting directed to is https://8cantwait.org/. Admittedly, some of it feels a bit optimistic and pollyanna, but I also have a lot here I don't know and want to learn. Even after only the simple steps of watching The 13th and going on to read a lot of thoughtful looks at the prison industrial complex, I'm at a loss for how anyone can think we just need a little bit of polishing around the edges. I would encourage everyone to spend a couple of hours with that one and leave some time to process it when you're done. As a teaser/incentive for our more conservative crowd, I promise you'll leave wanting to kick Bill Clinton in the dick.

  34. If they keep adding this many athletes to the NT HOF, it is going to get way to easy to get in. No school has multiple HOF worthy candidates every year.

  35. And in a new paradigm, they could figure out how to train specific roles to assist and reinforce her. I don't think any reasonable person is advocating for leaving social services on their own or arming them. There's a lot of nuance and discussion needed around what it looks like, but the aggressive language has the same people who brought you "lock her/him up," "show us the birth certificate," and "build the wall" chaffing their adult diapers because it sounds "too harsh and out there."

  36. I think most outside prognosticators will easily pick WKU as next year's CUSA championship. If you believe the above comments, you just have not done a lot of research. They return 6'11 Charles Bassey, easily the pick of all CUSA players to have a successful have a pro career. Than add Hollingworth who would have likely won the MVP of the league if WKU had won the conference instead of NT. Then add two more returning starters that averaged in double digits in Williams and Anderson. WKU also added the number 10 rated best juco in the country. NT will have a real battle to win CUSA, the lost of Gibson certainly did not help. NT can win again, but they will not be favored and the newcomers will have to be really good.

  38. You didn't prove anything by posting some dumb flash card with words on it that fit your agenda. Putting it in jpg form does not magically make an argument any more succinct or powerful, it just whittles down a nuanced issue into a black and white kindergarten level of conversation. You went to college, maybe act like you had to write a paper or two while you were there.

  39. Wait. The mayor of DC asks the federal government for money? Read a basic government textbook. It’s budget is partially determined by Congress. https://ggwash.org/view/70887/how-does-the-dc-budget-get-put-together-every-year And every state gets federal money. Not that DC is a state. It has 700000 residents with zero federal representation.

  40. Your downvotes only give me more resolve that my posts are entirely justified, because here's what you're downvoting in case you didn't bother reading the story: 1) 2 cops shove a 75 year old man at a protest in Buffalo and he ends up in the hospital with a concussion. He approached them with one of their helmets, looks like he was trying to give it back to them, but whatever the case he was clearly harmless. Watch the video for yourself. 2) The two officers who pushed him over and put him in the hospital are then suspended for their actions, all the while the official police report is that he "tripped and fell over". 3) The entire emergency response team that these two elder abusers belong to quit the team in solidarity over these two being suspended. So go ahead and plug your ears or delete 5 page threads because you want to ignore the police abuses in broad daylight, but it can happen to you just as easily as it can happen to a teen making trouble and running from a crime.

  42. I don't believe anyone can completely peg McCasland's style. I think he is a coach that will use his players to his best advantage, not just stick with what he did last year or the year before. The three has definitely changed basketball. However, there are a lot of teams that play successfully with two bigs that don't shoot threes. My predicted lineup next year is Hamlin at pg, Simmons at the 5 and Lewis at the 4. I think the other two spots are up for grabs; Bell in the game should make NT a top rebounding team. He has an advantage as he can shoot the three. However, Reese and McBride are likely to start with Bell still getting big minutes off the bench. Scary, Jones looks like a better athlete than any of them. Robinson as a freshman might also surprise. Jackson will continue primarily as a defensive specialist. Ousmanes will get about 10 minutes a game. Wise is a mystery.
