  1. Frankly the coaches are more at risk than the players. And I think once it's all said and done we're going to realize that this virus isn't as serious as was originally billed and I think there are a lot of people out there that had it and didn't even notice. Some stuff I've been reading and listening to has also indicated that the strains they are finding now have mutated into a less severe version of earlier strains.

  2. We know three of them are healthy. Odds are the rest are too, especially considering that they ALL are in the lowest risk group, even more so than most of us reading this board. That’s my opinion and what I’m hoping for. This is good news. Now let’s play ball. Rick

  3. In 1967, if you somehow got by Joe it didn't mean that you had escaped PAIN cuz' All-MVC linebacker, Johnny Mata, was right behind him. Just part of the 7-1-1 MVC Championship Team which had 10 men named to the First TEAM All-MVC unit, and which led the nation in interceptions with 28, had a HOF QB who led the nation in TD passes, a HOF receiver who led the nation in TD receptions and was the beginning of our beloved "Mean Green". 6. Saw this online today - demanding he be fired, not because he is racist, but because he is not vocally anti-racist enough. On top of this they refused to hear the plan the school worked up for them because they are tired of meeting and it is not their job. Gotta love today's cancel culture. UNT is in my experience the most liberal/progressive school in Texas. I support the leadership of UNT

  8. Last year was no doubt a disappointment. I have some concern about this coming season. However, the last few signing classes have been really good and eventually (2021 ?), this team should break through from those signings.. Seth is a good coach. I am still really happy to have him here. At least we shouldn't have to listen to rumors about him leaving this season. He was still on the coaching hot list last year until the 3 game losing streak at the end put a stop to that.

  9. DT is 3rd leading passer all time at NT in passing yardage and in the top 5 all time in every other passing category. Led us to a bowl win and was MVP. Sounds like a no brainer to me. Congrats DT.

  10. Ok sorry. I have mentioned in other threads I think but I made the mistake of not explaining fully. Glad we reached an understanding. I work with many Vets and active duty - many friends are struggling from their experiences so it is something I hold dearly to my heart. And we also see it in our daily lives. Vietnam vets struggled and so do our current ones. Drug problems, unemployment, and homelessness are not just general society problems but also Veterans’ issues that we MUST address.

  11. I think the general rules being discussed were they had to test upon arrival. Plus the research I have read indicates antibodies don’t develop for a couple weeks after the infection. (Paraphrasing) So most likely if they have antibodies they should not have an active infection. Hopefully they swabbed every player and are keeping them distanced and in small groups.

  15. Again, nothing against DT personally, but how does a QB who never even made HM make it into a HOF. Just thinking we need higher standard. We have too many "good guys" in the HOF

  17. AS and SH should not be in a HOF We need to have something that is truly a HOF, and then maybe you could have an "Honored Alum" section. Our HOF, like many colleges is truly diluted.

  18. If we are talking strictly stats, how do you put in Andrew Smith and Scott Hall but not put in DT? On HOF standards we agree. We have too many in that are not deserving but at what point do you say “ok from now on our HOF is for real“? They need to create some superlative to the HOF for truly program defining players like Joe Greene, Amber Haynes, Hayden Fry, Ofus Mitchell, Brandon Kennedy, Patrick Cobbs, etc.

  19. Just did not have a clue what you were trying to say as you did not reference the VA in your original post. Had you done so, I would have known. And, as a Viet Nam era vet refused VA care I am painfully aware of the issues. Appreciate your concern for our Vets!

You likely saw previously discussed and proven liar/misrepresenter Andy Ngo giving you the real dirt. https://foxwilmington.com/headlines/andy-ngo-reports-from-seattle-hard-for-me-to-overstate-the-anarchy-that-is-on-the-streets/ Sounds scary! Call anyone in Seattle and they will confirm that is all fabrication.

  28. It's very much deserved. Best QB in school history and a solid roster otherwise can't excuse going 4-8. Littrell flopped last year and I'm concerned if he'll get back to a bowl game
    1 point
  29. Littrell’s offense is a little different than Dickey’s (back then)! 😂 Also, I love Scott Hall, but he’s not the same QB as Mason Fine. The dropoff from Hall->Smith =\= Fine->Bean/Aune.

  30. Did DT ever get selected as all conference, even Honorable Mention? Again, not saying he was not a good player, but HOF standards are too low.

  31. We might be a little better, but I doubt we will be a bowl team. New offensive and defensive coordinators, no starting QB, and no spring practices, combined with a very tough OOC schedule, is just too much. And, I still don't think Littrell is placing a high enough priority on acquiring talent in the trenches. I think he should have hit the transfer portal harder.

  32. With the seemingly acceptable practice by all sides to go after anything a person has ever done, and even worse the attacks on their family members, including children, it is likely fewer people, especially those not seeking to be career politicians will run for office. Choosing the "least-worse" might just be the new normal.

  34. The VA has been a mess for years and PTSD among veterans means we need increased mental health resources. We are 45 years since the end of Vietnam so I was specifically referring to the last 19 years, but in response our treatment of Vietnam vets was no better if not worse - plus they were often treated poorly by those who opposed the war. A little before my time and I studied WW1 and WW2 so I don’t have a great grasp on that era. Did you have a point in asking? Do you think our care of recent vets has been adequate?

  35. DT is at least as deserving as many that are in there. He should be in. I’d be willing to bet that Mason Fine would not have been substantially better in a Mike Canales offense than DT was. And some of you forget that DT was actually invited to Broncos rookie mini-camp.

  36. For sure. There is still violent crime though, especially in larger cities, so we need to ensure SWAT teams and others like them have what they need in those events (The Breonna Taylor invasion was likely done by one of those types of militarized teams, so I can definitely see a need for some kind of change/reform there as well). However, we see most of these tragedies unfold at the hands of regular patrol officers, and there's not much else you can take from these guys, right? These questions may already have answers from people who have thought this through more, or even implemented some of the proposals... If so, I'm unaware, but would be interested in hearing more.

  37. From the same article - Updated Update, 6/8/20: The Star Tribune has identified the officers puncturing tires as state troopers and deputies from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. The officers strategically deflated the tires to “stop behaviors such as vehicles driving dangerously and at high speeds in and around protesters and law enforcement,” said Minnesota Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bruce Gordon. The troopers reportedly targeted cars that “contained items used to cause harm during violent protests” such as rocks and concrete. The Anoka County Sheriff’s Lt. Andy Knotz said deputies were following directions from the state-led Multiagency Command Center.

  40. Yeah sure, dude totally deserved to end up in the hospital because he didn't like cops, and cops never lie to make themselves the innocent victims. Just like Seattle PD saying they got "explosive devises" thrown at them. Aka CANDLES. Or how about Austin PD tweeting about all the nice thank yous and well-wishes they've received in the mail, which were clearly fakes because all the handwriting is exactly the same? Why do you people fall for this obvious garbage you're being sold? You wanna proudly brag about how you can see right through crooked politicians, but think their police forces are unimpeachable in all of this? Come on man.

  41. LOL you actually believe that a frail 75 year old man is the graffiti king of Buffalo and defend cops blatantly shoving him down and putting him in the hospital. What do you gain by defending the cops in this situation, a gold star? Do you think the next time they mistake your house in a no-knock raid they're gonna see your posts and not shoot your dog? Pathetic dude.

  42. DeBlasio sucks, what's that got to do with abusive police?
    1 point
  43. It's because cops are too busy abusing peaceful protesters. Maybe they should spend more time on the looters and rioters if it's such a widespread problem. Nice little political meme though, the flash cards for boomers who never developed critical thinking skills.
