  1. I foresee conference realignment coming sooner than expected and believe some schools in FBS will drop down to FCS or drop football altogether.

  2. No clue. He was offered before the season, back in August I believe, so he could easily be a guy we haven’t been in much contact with of late. But losing Gibson certainly makes pursuing make more sense now than before he had left. If we do pursue him, his offer list is lengthy but not many teams on that list who are particularly daunting in head-to-head recruiting matches.

  6. No clue if she would want to be an assistant here but I’d hire her yesterday. In fact this may not be a popular opinion but I’d rather have her in the head spot even though I appreciate Jalie and love the fact she is one of our own.

  7. Still worth bringing in to help Jalie or worth a look to bring back if Jalie can’t get it done.

  9. I know this isn't Football Related. Important Covid-19 Grant Info. that most people don't know about below SBA.GOV assistance program throughout the US. Everyone is hearing about SBA.GOV Small Business Payroll loan assistance. I'm an independent Business owner/contractor. i represent/Sell Health-Under 65, Not ObamaCare, Life, Medicare Over 65, College planning services. I'm also an Electricity Broker. I don't qualify for SBA.GOV employee Retention program that started today because I don't have any W-2 employees. There is help for me and anyone across the USA that is self employed or 1099 contract employee. See info. Below. Hopefully board administrators will not move post as important to all on this board that are like me. SEE INFORMATION BELOW. All, If any of you have friends that are self-employed IE contract labor, via 1099’s and don’t have any employees can go to below SBA link. Fill out 5 minute application, then SBA due to Covid 19 will deposit 10K in grant money. No repayment terms just 10K. Money is supposes to be deposited within 3 business days but SBA says it will take a bit longer due number of applications and demand. This info. is on SBA website, but I’ve been dealing with the SBA and I was provided this information verbally by SBA call center employee(s), IE more than 1. https://covid19relief.sba.gov/#/ I hope everyone stays safe and don't have any family, friends, or business associates affect by Covid-19 from serious medical standpoint!!!!

  10. Might not come to that. His language is shifting. Almost like you can tell he know he screwed up (IMO). I wouldn't be surprised to see RNC bosses/mega donors pressuring him to step down before the convention. Anyways... Hard to ignore this death toll. If the predictions start to unfold as truth, you'll see more American deaths than under the previous 10 presidents combined. The economy is now worse than what he inherited. Unemployment will match/exceed the Great Recession. It's easy to blame China for covering info up, but we knew it might be happening because they did the same with SARS. S. Korea had a nearly identical timeline to us, but managed the curve well with testing and protocols. What about Japan? Taiwan? Did these countries magically have the true China numbers that we did not, despite our top-of-the-world US Intelligence/Military spending? And our nations leaders cannot even follow their own protocol. In daily briefings, you will find them standing right next to each other. I suppose in that huge building they cannot find one room with enough space to stand 6+ feet apart? Or we cannot put together the technology in place to have them do this virtually? I imagine tons of lawsuits, too, both at the federal and state (NY, WA) level for the sloppy inaction at all these levels. Also, conspiracy theory I read yesterday: the implementation of 5G is what is causing the pandemic. The report claimed that the signal weakens your immune system and makes you extremely vulnerable to COVID19. Apparently the towers were just installed at these major outbreak cities.

  11. I believe he will stay in that range. If he would be able to attend camps this summer he'd be rated higher and pile up offers. Checked out some of his times that were Opening verified which uses same laser system as NFL to time athletes. He ran a 4.62 40 a YEAR AGO!! This is a huge pick up. 12. 6’4” 290 lb lineman from Mineola High school in Mineola, TX. We have offered. Also holds offers from Arkansas State, Kansas, Nevada, UTSA, La Tech, New Mexico, and Southern Miss (His Dad’s alma mater). https://247sports.com/player/jackson-anderson-46097817/ https://247sports.com/Video/Jackson-Anderson-Mineola-2019-junior-season-highlights-9592033/ Is the younger brother of Austin and Riley Anderson, who Mccarney offered back in the class of 2016 before they both signed with A&M. Looks like Riley is still on the A&M roster while Austin has not been on the roster since 2017.

  14. The problem with this logic on Mo’s end, and @97and03 already pointed it out, is that Hamlet is a senior. If Mo had stayed his path would look like this: 20-21 season - Starting 2 guard and backup point guard for UNT as a redshirt junior 21-22 season - Chance to become starting point guard for UNT as a redshirt senior And by transferring his path looks like this: 20-21 season - sit out the whole season and burn his redshirt junior season 21-22 season - Chance to become starting point guard for the school he transfers to People keep saying he wouldn’t have a chance to become the starting point guard here because of Hamlet, but that’s not looking at the real opportunity cost here. He can’t start at point guard for any D1 school this season because he has to sit out. Then by the time he’d be eligible at his next school, Hamlet would be gone. So Hamlet really doesn’t present a valid explanation for transferring now.

  15. Style? Mo said that he was transferring because he wanted to start at point guard...and we know who will be starting at point. Seems to me it has more to do with Mo's wishes rather than Coach Mac's style. But, whatever the reason, we should wish him well. I do think Coach Mac was a tad surprised by this, but am 100% certain that he will find a worthy replacement rather quickly.

  16. I think with all that is going on there will be conference coming a lot sooner than we expect. He just takes a couple of teams to start moving to start it. If we go to regional conferences it will be interesting who will be available. I know UTEP wants to go to the MW, UTSA to the big eight so that leaves us Rice, UTSA and UTEP for conference mates in the state. I don't think we can hope for any other teams in the state unless we want to add Texas State?????. Maybe we could keep LA TECH and maybe add some LA schools. Maybe Tulsa might be looking to cut expenses. It doesn't look good for us in future. The P5 are killing college sports. I was so excited about next years team but this does put a damper on it. Wish he change his mind and stay. Maybe I am depressed from all the is virus crap going on but I have a strange feeling the old denton might reappear in the near future.

  17. The article says nothing about CUSA. Never mind. Odd, the “Read More” button was covered by an ad when I clicked it yesterday.

  18. Honestly, dropping down to FCS would probably be a good move for ODU. They'd have better regional rivalries (e.g., James Madison), and I doubt their fanbase perceives C-USA teams significantly higher. Although it would make upsetting Va Tech tougher in the future.

  26. Aston’s teams posted a 184-83 (93-51 Big 12) record in eight seasons at Texas. The Longhorns made four straight Sweet 16 appearances from 2015-18, reaching the Elite Eight in 2016 before falling to eventual national champion UConn in the Bridgeport Regional final.

  27. I'm of the opinion both CUSA and SBC are the bottom feeders. At least SBC had Appi State in the final Top 25 ranking at number #19 in the nation at 13-1.... What team did CUSA have???? Much less...what team from the Western Division of CUSA made the list. Unfortunately...imo. at this time Fun Belt maybe a better conference. I just don't see Judy getting this train on the tracks anytime soon which leads to constant speculation about changing conferences here at NT.....

  30. Yes, SMU's oc schedule in MBB spells out willingness to play anyone anytime. GA. St., Jax St, New Orleans, Jackson St, Hartford, ACC, NW St and somehow Georgetown. Believe me their fans are not going to revolt by playing in your parlance, a lower tier school. Why do you think NT should be considered a lower tier school to SMU? In what other than price? Brand and Prestige, this is not in the forties. Forget scare, they believe it is in their long term interest to limit NT prominence in the DFW area as much as possible. I don't fault the strategy, but most should recognize that has gone on for decades.

  32. you’re talking about football and I’m talking about basketball, so staying with basketball no they don’t care, they don’t have a reason to care and fans being pissed about scheduling a perceived lower tier school does not make an AD or a school scared to schedule us. They have the “brand” and “prestige” and they’re not going to use that clout to help this basketball program until we win so much they can’t ignore us.

  34. You’d think with fewer people driving to work right now that those who ARE still having to drive could slow down and enjoy a more relaxing, less frustrating drive. Not the case...especially when it’s raining. This is a new bridge in Weatherford that opened a year or so ago, this morning. Rick

  35. That seems logical to you and I, but put yourself in a 20-22 year old mind and ask that question. I know when I was that age, I didn't always make the decisions that were logical even though my parents and older people tried to tell me what was best. If his focus is NBA only, then he may not care about school as much. Hence the reason you have so many of those kids that like to do one and done. They never really wanted to be in school. They just view it as a necessary evil to get to the NBA since they can't go straight there from HS any longer. He is probably looking at Woolridge at Gonzaga and thinking he can get to a highly ranked program as well. He probably thinks that all he needs is one great year at a highly ranked program. Long shot? Yes. But, again, look at his age. Not saying all kids that age make bad decisions, but there are quite a few who don't make the best decisions. Then when you get older, you look back and say I wish I would have done so and so. Hindsight is always 20/20. I tend to think that three reporters not reporting him as a grad transfer is very telling.

  38. At last year's CUSA basketball tournament I talked to two ODU members of their athletic department. They would move out of CUSA faster than the NFL Colts left Baltimore in the middle of the night for Indianapolis, hopefully to the AAC. In business its what do you want , what do you need, and what are you willing to pay for.Without a 2020 college football season universities who continue with a program are going to be forced to make hard decisions which become easier when there are no other choices. If UNT wants to continue football it will need reduce expenses in line with what it is willing and able to pay. You would think conference realignment with geographic friendly opponents would no longer be an option but an economic necessity, as well as dropping marginal sports programs. If you have less money coming in you must have less going out.

  39. I don’t hold too high of hopes that the next round (if there is any) of realignment will benefit North Texas. Forgive me if I sound like a broken record but the AAC will not take us and my hope of joining the Mountain West is probably a pipe dream. North Texas is stuck in CUSA for the foreseeable future
