  1. Last night I dreamed I was attending a Mean Green football game at Apogee Stadium with a full house in attendance. Before the game started, the Army Golden Knights Parachute Team jumped (disclaimer: I was an Army paratrooper, but never close to being a Golden Knight). At the end of the game, we all ran out on the field and were not observing social distancing. So, what does it all mean? That maybe the quarantine was over, and we had defeated the virus? we played Army in a bowl game and beat them? who knows? But it was good to be there once more to see the Mean Green take the field. Okay, off to bed to see what comes next.

  2. Yeah, but in my dream Mason Fine threw a sixty-five yard Hail Mary with no time left on the clock to give the Dallas Cowboys a Super Bowl win over the 49ers. The Mean Green beat Alabama for the national championship. I had a date every night of the week with a different Dallas Cowboy cheerleader ! Then the jailer woke us up and emptied out the drunk tank. (Oh by the way, I was in the 82nd Airborne so I think we may suffer from the same dream disorder) ✈️

  3. Stansbury dropping some big 💰💰💰 Also apparently the kid is very selfish, and has transferred several times in HS to be the best player. Doubt he stays if WKU doesn’t win a championship Also, very odd

  5. guys... things are going really well.. .i just completed the 2021 season on NCAA 13... as an update, we moved to the Big 12 in 2020, and although the first two years have not produced a national championship, we have won the Rose Bowl... the flipping longhorns beat us last year though... we just fell behind early and couldn't make up the deficit. although there was a lot of pressure on me as the head coach, i decided to go ahead and sign a contract extension over the next 4 years to stay in Denton.

  7. I think realistically, we'll probably start seeing states back off around that time frame. You can't put a massive chunk of the economy on hold 12-18 months. I think 2 months is a massive strain as-is. I expect we might see parts of the country come on and off restrictions for some time while outbreaks flare, but we're tempting a depression even with what we're doing (and the number of lives lost from that would almost certainly exceed the virus long-term). I know some folks are hoping to make Trump look stupid, but honestly, we'd better hope he's "right" on chloroquine. A vaccine is a least a year away, and there is a real possibility that a vaccine isn't even possible. I also saw an article the other day from a doctor mentioning that human's don't generally get long-lasting immunity from coronoviruses. We'd better pray that isn't true if this thing becomes endemic.

  8. I will say though, we should stay on our current course until at least mid to late April. Anyone who is talking about opening things back up before then is certifiable.

  9. WKU has the brand to bring in one or two extremely high profile recruits. Maybe not every season but it sure seems like it. But, you know.... 78-72 and all. 🤣

  10. It is obvious that during your JMPI your Jumpmaster repeatedly failed to check your modified chin strap assembly. This in conjunction with a piss poor PLF resulted in your brain pan slamming against the drop zone. Depending on which Company you were in jump school this was referred to as ate up, soup sandwich, or ooh ahh medivac and quite possibly all three. You should probably beat your boots. I am sure as any good paratrooper you embraced the suck and drove on in a LGOP to create chaos, or since you were at Bragg you got your ass off or Sicily and Normandy. Please ensure while you continue your drinking as a combat sport (yes to a paratrooper drinking is a sport) you ensure your slide fastener is in the up and secured position, your PT belt is safely secured low around your waist, sit back and enjoy your flight. The DZSO says winds are 3-5 knots. We will get your knees in the breeze shortly. I have found in my old age, that I no longer call them dreams, it is more along the line of "my check liver light is on, did that really happen?" Jumpers remove your head from your fourth point of contact and Hit It!

  11. I have the same worries. I also don't think a 3 month shutdown - at least how we're doing it now - is feasible. We would just end up with a lot of evicted folks on the street. If we did anything longer than that, looking at how the UK is doing things may help. Substantial financial aid for those who can't work, plus loans and grants for businesses of all sizes. I'd like to see contact tracing, booth and drive thru testing, and IR temp scanning if possible. Gotta buy time for treatments and vaccines and for the medical/emergency responders.

  13. I am, yes. They're pretty stigmatized. I mean, It was a very simple question ("Is he a good person?")... but you have your reasons to tap-dance. I don't care why, it's just an observation. I didn't vote for President Obama, and I didn't agree with several of his stances, but I'd feel fine saying he's a good person. Another odd thing about the same kind of person I'm talking about is that for some reason, any kind of criticism of the President Trump is taken personally instead of just a criticism of yet another corrupted, selfish, elected official. No, for some reason, Trump's fans feel the need to defend this scumbag like he's their own son because they put a check next to his name on a ballot one time. That person is not you, is it? I did get a mysterious "-1" just before your post... Would you give a flip if people were saying the same things about Representative Burgess? John Cornyn? I assume you put checks next to their names as well. Face it: President Trump ain't a "good person".

  18. Silver, I think you're a good guy, but you were not, apparently, in the 82nd Airborne Division, or otherwise a paratrooper. I did qualify that I was not a "Golden Knight", but perhaps I should also clarify that I never did sport parachuting. Military style parachuting, as ipd054 references, does not end with a "standing landing", as is possible with a "sport parachute", but rather a "plf", or "parachute landing fall", which begins with the toes and progresses along the side of the legs and back. I did have one bad landing, but it was NOTHING. Anyway, to my fellow Airborne troopers out there, "drive on" and "dream on"!

  22. What I'm most worried about is this is like the 1918-1919 Spanish Flu and has multiple waves. The first wave was slightly more deadly than a normal flu season, the second was apocalyptic, and the third was somewhere between the other two. I hope this isn't the weakest wave, but I fear it may be.

  23. Wow...I can't believe folks on this board are really saying don't pay our coach a bonus for what might have been reasonable possible if C-USA and NCAA tournaments hadn't been cancelled. Like it or not UNT should have been considered and was considered the favorite to win conference tournament and receive NCAA auto bid!!! If UNT doesn't pay the bonus or some equivalent in a renegotiated contract. Which I'm sure is is in the works. I've just been away from the board dealing with more important issue affecting my family due to Covid-19. Many, maybe not all who are saying don't pay bonus would be critical of our AD if coach McCasland left UNT for a more high profile coaching position. Insert school name here:_______. It's going to be hard enough to keep coach McCasland at UNT maybe now or in the very near future. Let's be realistic if you're coach McCasland and I'm at a school in a single bid league like C-USA, that's reason enough to move on. If my college AD and UNT president, or BOD's don't pay me the paltry amount of $25,000.00 after I've resurrected there team from the dead, and I mean DEAD!!! UNT's basketball program after 3yrs., then I'm out!!! That would be like a poke in the eye with the sharpest knife made by man kind. I wonder if the poster(s) advocating not paying NCAA contractual bonus are secretly fans of another University trolling this board hoping there university can poach a great coach away from UNT. Let the Mean Green Nation be the Judge. Seems like a "no Brainer". Much more logical conclusion and if that's not the case, more realistic from a business view point. Oh, I forgot those advocating the non payment of bonus could be from academia, then there position might make since, NOT!!! Yes, I'm being very critical of those taking the position of denying coach McCasland UNT's contraction obligation to pay a $25,000.00 NCAA bid bonus. I full well expect to be criticized for my opinion also. But, I'm a big boy, and I'm older than I used to be and much wiser, so I can take the criticism.

  28. What a shame that we are still not the same level as these teams, year in and year out.

  29. To get to 5-7, that means beating Houston Baptist, UTEP, UTSA, Rice, and Charlotte, most likely. That seems to be the top end of what I would expect for 2020. Maybe we can steal a win over MUTS, as well, but I feel like we will probably lose 1 game out of the 6 I have listed. The other 6 teams are just better than us right now. Our QB is an unknown right now, our lines are nowhere near being good enough to play with the bigger and fast guys at A&M, SMU, UH, LT, USM, and UAB, and we are breaking in new coordinators again. I'll gladly take 5-7 or 4-8 this upcoming season. To me, this year will be about getting ready for a big season in 2021. If SL can do that in 2021, he can probably still be a hot commodity again for a job above us on the foodchain. If not, there's a very good chance that he will be done here.

  31. Truthfully, I’d want most of them. But with only two spots currently left and a lot of guys on our bench who have not been proven rotation players, I’m not sure we can afford a guy sitting out a season. If we move on from guys like J Simmons, Mohamed, Alcindor, and maybe Wise (still has promise), then we could start talking about getting a guy or two who has to sit next season. I really like Anosike, Koval, and Pyle. They all would give us something we haven’t really had under Mccasland. Anosike would be the best rebounder we’ve had under Mccasland and that was a weak point at times last year. Plus he’s just a very good overall player. Koval would give us a legit shot blocker and rim protector, which we also haven’t had under Mccasland. And he can shoot 3s as a 7 footer so he could help with spacing. And Pyle would give us a legit sharp shooting forward, which we also have been lacking under Mccasland. 43% on 5.7 attempts per game is elite. Those three could also easily go to power conference schools, but I’d take any of them. So much of what happens this offseason hinges on guys like J Simmons, Mohamed, and Alcindor. Unless one of them takes a huge step forward, truthfully that’s 3 non-rotational caliber players at the CUSA level on the bench. But finding good transfer situations for them could really open things up for improving the roster, with the on-court momentum we built up.

  36. But there are plenty of those that fact check Presidents, politicians and the like. Trump lies more than anyone in government, past or present, and its not even close. So who exactly wants to be lied to? Please help me understand how someone supports this President. I truly want to know.

  42. The Iran-US Claims Tribunal acknowledged this as a debt that we owed. Obama did not voluntarily or willingly handed a bunch of free cash over to a known terrorist country. Maybe Obama could have ignored/delayed it. I think Trump would have just made a circus out of this. He probably wouldn't pay it, but it would be an idiot move. The debt was internationally recognized and would not just disappear. Was there interest on it? I don't know. I voted for Obama, but did not like some of his Presidential moves. Inversly, I am okay with some of Trumps efforts. Right now, I think the entire political environment is a mess. I wish Trump never had a mic again, that he'd just shut up and do his job. His language - unlike Obama - is mostly divisive (IMO). Not a man I would consider full of grace.

  43. But both of those examples seem political, and not testimonies of his character. Again, there are tons of political reasons I'm not a fan of President Obama, but he seems to be a good person. Not a perfect person, no one is, but someone I could at least trust to not purposefully inflame an already fragile relationship with a cold rival by referring to a global pandemic as "The Chinese Flu" or "Kung Flu". How sorry is that? Let's not even bring up where he likes to grab unwitting females, or the very odd comments about his own daughter that 99.99999999% of fathers would never even think, let alone say.
